  1. I graduated last year so as far as I'm concerned I get bragging rights for life lol and it was especially sweet seeing as yall whipped us my first three years. But I always loved playing yall and DII-AA is always more fun when Ryan is good so
  2. No ID needed......you're "mental" age is showing. Baylor had a lot to be "not" proud of when it comes to the underground t-shirts". The fact you would want one....well......sorry for you! Good one. Apparently you are just assuming what the t-shirt said, and i have seen one and it is nothing bad at all actually. You know the old saying that assuming only makes an @ss out of you and me. Actually just you. Burn lol what did it say??????
  3. I'm a defensive guy, so I will keep saying that turnovers are caused by the defense, not given away by the offense. What did the shirt say? lol
  4. That is the first thing I read this morning because we didn't get the paper for some reason and I just died laughing. What is the excuse for sticking what is essentially the best game in the state of Tennessee every year on a Thursday? I've never heard of the reasoning. Best game in the state........I'm trying so hard not to cuss. Whine, whine, whine, and more whine. What is it that you two don't understand about numbers? Whole towns turn out for public school games and that doesn't happen in Division II. Money and numbers. Handle it. Well the DII-AA championship game well usually pit the two best teams in the state against each other (or at least the best and then a top 10 team). So if you want the best representation of Tennessee high school football, the PRIVATE SCHOOL Super Prep Conference Championship is just that. Now on the issue of attendance...yes, all of Lincoln and Trousdale Counties, and South Pittsburgh come out to cheer on their teams. But in most towns, there are multiple schools. Just in Franklin, there is Franklin, Page, Centennial, and BGA. Now, BGA has only 400 students, but easily had more than 3000 people a game last year. So if you go on enrollment to attendance ratio, DII takes the win on this one. So in the regular season, outside of those handfull of small town big schools, the attendance is probably equal from DI to DII. Now, in the state championship, your arguement loses all steam. The two teams are usually from different parts of the state. Obviously, when a team has to make the treck arcoss the state, be it from Memphis, Knoxville, or Chattanooga, not everyone can go. So the state championship, regardless of it is DI or DII, will not have the same attendance as a regular season/play-off game. So yea, puting what this year will be a game between two of the top 25 teams in the nation on a Thursday is not based on money or logic or anything legit. It is a blatant jab at DII. Oh and EHS beat Oakland and the only two teams White Station has lost to, are (drum roll please) MUS and CBHS!!! Go DII
  5. Well, Ensworth will still have Jr. Rodney Anderson next year who is quicker and faster than Darkwa and he is coming off a torn ACL. Richardson will be back next year so I don't see a the running game taking as big of a blow as some may think. I think what we are about to see is the same thing we see with BA, and that is that even in "rebuilding" years, this will be a top 5 team in DII. Yes, losing Jefferson and OOD back to back years will hurt, but I am sure there are a few very good guys just waiting their turn at Hogwarts.
  6. That is the first thing I read this morning because we didn't get the paper for some reason and I just died laughing. What is the excuse for sticking what is essentially the best game in the state of Tennessee every year on a Thursday? I've never heard of the reasoning. It started last season when the Div II games were played midweek due to an MTSU homegame. If it continues through next year, I think you'd have to say that it's simply done to marginalize the Div II schools even further. "Big Red Big Blue" I beleive threw out the idea of doing away with the playoffs, since in a league this size they're all rematches, and it's such a small league to begin with. His idea was to crown a regular season champion and play a big rivalry game on Thanksgiving. I suppose that for the other sports, it makes sense to stay within the TSSAA, but you have to question what exactly Div II is getting from the TSSAA in terms of football. I understand the concept of not having the playoffs, but I think it is vital to the whole nature of high school football. And seeing as there is no real reason to place that game on a weekday, I have to agree it is an attempt to relegate DII to a secondary status. I mean, it really wouldn't be difficult to put the DII championships on the same weekend as DI (1A, 2A, and A on Friday; 3A, 4A, 5A on Saturday; AA, and 6A on Sunday) ans to have ALL OF THEM on T.V. It is sickening that the programs that have kept Tennessee nationally legitimate are discriminated against.
  7. I mean, beating JPII by 7 isn't exactly "rolling" lol a win is a win I guess.

  9. Not gonna say I told you so...but I told you so good job guys.
  10. I am picking EHS, as I think they are the best team in the whole state besides MUS, but you can't really logically pick fully against BA in any game. Every year they will have some of the best speed and size in the state. Should be a premier match up between two very good teams.
  11. Regardless of the issues BGA has had this year, the running game has been solid all year. If that is a weakness for MBA's defense, BGA can surpise them. But from how the Baylor game went, MBA has a slight edge. Good luck 'Cats
  12. No...it was about Baylor and McCallie...because that's what this entire thread has been about...
  13. I mean, Baylor is one of the most successful high school programs in the nation, so I don' think that the Yankees, Lakers, and Patriots syndrome applies here. And I hate the turnover excuse. Turnovers are usually caused by the defense, not given away by the offense.
  14. Well I appreciate "you're" taking the time out of "you're" day to show me the light. And you're right on the money, I don't represent all of MBA in my posts. My guess is, you figured, how could one guy speak on behalf of hundreds of people who graduated from that school over the years? Many of whom he probably doesn't even know? How could he? Nicely done, so you're definitely wise not to be too worried about my opinions, at least as far as representing all of MBA. I mean one typo in over 150 posts isn't enough to base a rebuttal on...so yea. I started the sentence with the purpose of saying "you are blah blahhh" and redirected to "your." Sorry if I offended you with my terrible grammar. Now, I respect what Redtwin said, and if he says that EHS isn't important except on the week of the game, then I have to go with that. You instead were just kind of rude about a school that I have seen nothing but class from...so yea. Be nice. ELE
  15. No teams to worry about in the West? Let's not forget ECS, who has been the favorite to win it this year (and likely will be most years going forward) since the new Division II classes were announced. And in the Middle/East, I would venture to say Knoxville Webb has probably been more of the people's choice all along, with or without this injury. I don't know what preseason coahces polls indicated, but ECS and Webb were the most logical choices to win Division II A going into this year. No disrespect intended for DA, but the statement "...the reason they were going to win state" was rather presumptous. I think saying "...the reason they would have a small chance of winning state" would widely be considered more accurate, which is more of a testimony to the relative strength of the ECS and Webb programs in the new Division than it is a slam on DA. Nicely stated as usual lol I like ECS for the simple fact that Blance is out for Webb. And unless something drastic happens, Webb and ECS will be at the top of the heap every year along followed by DA, DCA, USJ, and JCS. But this is a shame seeing as he was just as good as any back in DII-AA. Hopefully he bounces back for his senior season.
  16. Ummm who has won the past two years? Get over yourself. what does that have to do with anything? I guess Independence is also our biggest rival since they won the last game we played with them. EHS/MBA is a great rivalry fueled by the fact that many of the people involved with kick starting EHS were a part of the MBA family for a long time. To refer to a team that has whipped MBA two years in a row and played them close three years ago as the "obnoxious, up-start little brother" kinda comes off as...dumb, childish, I don't know, a whole number of things. I always loved playing EHS and have nothing but respect for them. When we played it was just a good natured, intense kinda rivalry between two good teams without alot of the trash talk you usually see. I'm guessing you're "thoughts" don't represent MBA as a whole though so I'm not too worried about it
  17. Ummm who has won the past two years? Get over yourself.
  18. I mean, yes, depth will always be an issue for BGA simply from an enrollment standpoint. But the same can be said for EHS as well. Only a select few (BA, MUS, MBA usually) have the benefit of platooning the players. After a point, it can't be used as a crutch anymore.
  19. That is such a dumb comment. From what I heard it was a good game that wasn't decided untill a late long run (same as in the Baylor game). BGA is sooooooo young and they've been playing well this year. I mean that is just a stupid cliche little smart alec comment...hreet. i belive you are the one making the smart alec comments, on one of your other posts you referred to father ryan players as the worst attempt at BAMF-ness well it seems that this season it is BGA with the sorry attempts. a few of their players were texting father ryan players before the game attempting to be BAMF I mix in the sarcasm with some substance though and yea, I can't necessarily defend the attitudes of some of the younger players lol
  20. You sound as though you're old enough to recall sportsmanship, class, and dignity. I was present for the funerals of both "sportsmanship" and "gentlemanly competition," both of which died after relatively short illnesses. Sadly, neither left heirs. That is sad that it's true, but you made it sound epic lol Either way, good luck to both teams in a big region game. Is it at Finley this year?
  21. True, but the fact is (well at least with MBA and BGA, not really sure what's up with BA) this was an expected rebuilding year for those teams. Yet still, BGA has won the games they were supposed to and played well in the games where they were underdogs. And MBA beating Baylor shows that they have alot of fight left in them. Credit these teams not tanking to good youth and better coaching.
