Good luck from this oakland fan!!! I've heard that coach barger implemented a weight program when he came aboard. How are the results of workouts going? I have also heard that support for the lions is up. What players should we be on the look out for this year? I understand they are young.

Franklin Co. played like a bunch of thugs!!!!!!!! I put all the blame on the coaching staff and the administration at franklin co. There are some talented players on that team. and to allow them to act like that is a disgrace to the school and their parents!! I saw a franklin co. coach give #30 props after he hit Carlton!!! DESPICABLE!!!!!!!!!!

They have all the zoning permits signed and everything is ready. i look for it to be done around april 1st as expected.

i would have to say Farragut. But before them it was Germantown in the early 90's and then Oakland in the late 90's.

McConnell 2B McGowan can also play anywhere in the infield, has actually worked quite a bit at first early on, can also play left and might pitch. Fann will catch some McConnell has worked at short and third Jordan Wright could see some time in the outfield Burnette will pitch and can play first Barnes may play some outfield too

I can tell you that you have no idea what you are talking about!!!!!!!!!! First there was never a Brendan King on that team and neither was Sladen! Oakland went 4 years without losing a game to Riverdale or White County. Maybe even Lebanon, but i don't remember. 97 and 98 oakland ran into a guy named Dewon Brazleton. Maybe you've heard of him 98 Oakland only had 2 seniors and one of those only pitched, the other was a pitcher and back up infielder. 99 and 2000 well we all know. Oh Yeah its BreNNan King and Jeremy SlaYden!!!! Trust me i should know!!! right 2p? So before you go off trying to compare teams from this year to great teams of the past get your facts straight!!! 39-2 and 40-3 not bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you work with the ref that reversed the out of bounds call late in the game? If you do I want to know how he is able to sleep at night? The officiating throughout the tournament has been terrible!!! I watched several games, not just Oakland, and the refs were God awful!! These refs set the tone early in the game and the players get in a grove, and then all of a sudden they start calling touch fouls and then decide to let them play again. Oh well!! I guess when you are consistently terrible people should know what to expect!!

I don't have a problem with the band or the band parents, same with cheerleaders. What i can't stand is when the band, usually due to lack of leadership or direction, doesn't "participate" during a game. They play what they want, when they want. Every band director should have to attend a college football game to watch the way the band interacts with the fans.... Cheerleaders that try to talk to the players on the sidelines!!!!!!!!!!

True... but they only had one senior... i would contribute their struggles to inexperience and lack of leadership. No fault to anyone on the team or coaching staff. Oakland just hasn't had any leaders the past couple years who could set an example. They have had the players to do it but no one stepped up on a consistent basis last year. Now they are experienced with a good core of seniors, there is no excuse for a sub par season this year.

Oakland Blackman Riverdale Siegel Thats all that i'm worried about i think that this should be an up year for all the boro schools and that the other teams in the district are just schedule fillers.. i'm not saying that those other teams won't win any games but i don't think that they will be factors in the end.

i know its corny but....to be the best you have to beat the best. and until Riverdale gets knocked off they are probably the favorite. hey I hate to say it too i'm an oakland guy. I know that blackman and siegel have good teams but they don't have the track record that the other two schools have. Outsidde of riverdale and oakland i think the best teams are still in murfreesboro! I would be shocked if a team outside of the boro ever wins the reg season district!!!
