I'm an Oakland guy.....What did you guys think about coach McDaniel??? Besjide ethe fact that he is leaving. Iknow you guys are pretty upset, but what was the feeling about him.

Just because this coach isn't from "Marty's Army" and young doesn't mean he's a bad hire. Settle down!!! Maybe some new blood will turn this ship around. All the names that have been brought up are really good guesses!!! the all have had their valid points. I get the feeling that the new coach may be someone totally off the board! Just my feeling, and i could be way wrong on this one

the search has been going on, officially, since the last week of the regular season and will probably continue through the Blue Cross Bowl. Not sure if they are still fielding apps., but if a qualified coach wants to apply I haven't heard that the search is over. As for the administration, Principal Butch Vaughn and VP rick Collins have conducted all the interviews together, to the best of my knowledge they have. All the names you read are all just guesses, granted, some are very good guesses. Butch has not made any interview or potential candidate public.

Easy ######!!!!!!!!!!! First Butch Vaughn has not put Collins in charge!!!!! Get your facts straight about that!!! Mr. Vaughn has the final say on any hiring that will be done. I happen to know Rick well and would have to disagree with you on how bad a person he is. I don't know everything that happened before but I have heard nothing but good from former players. I don't know who you are but I'm sure you've been upset off at plenty of coaches who have "done you wrong" in the past. Don't worry Butch is in control!!! thanks for your concern!!!

Oakland has actually won more football championships than basketball, and has just as many as baseball-2 While i do agree that baseball and basketball have enjoyed more longterm success I would say that there has not been a principal at Oakland who is more committed to winning than the current one (Butch Vaughn). Oakland has an UNBELIEVABLE indoor facility that has to be tops in the state, The area is full of kids and the past two freshmen classes have been tremendous!!!!! Also Oakland has a new academic program that only a couple of schools in the state have. This allows student to transfer to Oakland w/o a zone waiver and w/o losing any athletic eligibility!!!
