  1. Seems like everyone is adding something about Cully/Summertown and Cully/Middleton. Here's my two cents...I'm going to take Cully over Summertown by 6. However, I believe that it will be close the entire game until the last minute. With their small lead, Cully will hit the foul shots to extend the lead late. Keep in mind...it's a thought. The Middleton game is going to be tough though. From what I've read and heard said, it's a tough game that should allow us to see how good Cully can be. I'm taking Culleoka in the game, because I can't root against them. Good luck. This is going to be a tournament worth watching.
  2. It's hard to say how good Summertown is...when they are playing Mount Pleasant. Since M.P. went deep into the football playoffs, this was their first game. M.P. hadn't been playing together much before that. However, Summertown is still going to be tough. I'm just hoping that Moore County, Summertown, Culleoka, and another tough team show up at the region to play each other. There's no doubt that one of these teams will represent our area well.
  3. After watching Culleoka play this season, I'm really looking forward to the meeting against Moore County. It's a hard game to predict though without watching Moore County. I was glad to see Cully's bench step up last night and not let Cascade get back into the game. They played really well when we were getting into foul trouble. Guess all we can really do is wait and see.
  4. I went to a blue raiders website to find out about Sain. This is the quote from the site..."Josh Sain has been indefinitely suspended for attitude detrimental to our team," Davis said. "It has been a series of occurrences that has brought us to this point. Josh will continue to be accountable for all of his academic responsibilities but he will not take part in any team activities. We will evaluate his progress during our exam break the first week of December." It sounds like a college Pacman Jones if you ask me. Coaches are only hard to play for when you want to act out of line. I have complete faith that DeMario will be a perfect fit at MTSU. He won't have a hard time playing for the coach.
  5. i don't know how anyone can possibly think about state right now. there's no way to really comprehend what other teams have. way too soon to be talking about that. however, what are the biggest surprises you have seen in the teams? i've seen a couple of teams that i expected great things and they came out flat. i've also seen power from some little guys. pitching has been my biggest surprise. i've seen several boys step it up and throw harder than i've seen in the past.
  6. The North won the Battle of Chattanooga on November 25, 1863. Other then that, I'm going with CSAS in this one. Good luck to both teams, but I hope that CSAS runs Temple in the ground.
  7. good game today CSAS. use your speed and take temple down. i'm about as tried of them on here as i was of union city and lake county before they were put out.
  8. Point total, finalist two years in a row, and a 52 point game doesn't automatically make you mr. basketball. temple is known as being a great basketball program. demario has HELPED lead culleoka to their first ever state tournament. he has high averages in EVERY catagory. we aren't the ones who need to adjust our glasses.
  9. listen...i've gave my opinion on his style of play. take it as putting him down, but that's the way i see it.
  10. we brought a lot to the game today. csas is quick and they gave them something to cheer about. however, i sat right in the middle of the cully fans and they never were quiet. the gym at mtsu doesn't do noise level justice.
  11. you are the one that is wrong. it didn't say anything about talent or teams, buddy. it said "the best single A town." that town is CULLEOKA.
  12. i have to add a reply here. there is no way in the world that chattanooga is the best single A town. when you are single A, you are small. you need a hometown type feel...not a big city. i'm not going to say that culleoka is the best, but when a whole town gets behind a team...when a whole town shows up on game nights...when a whole town ask off work to go to a milestone game...those are the characteristics of a good town. culleoka is that town.
  13. csas wins this game hands down. besides, the only way skogen gets to touch the mr. basketball trophy is when demario lets him see what it looks like up close.
  14. who are you saying had twice as many people? cully or csas?
  15. Based on the fan levels from the state tournament, I would go with Dyer County. I've never seen so much orange in my life. Too much orange really. Liberty is loud, but I don't feel they are in the game. Culleoka had a good showing also for the games to be so early in the day. I had some Fulton fans behind me who apparently were the coaches of the team! They were yelling the whole time and trying to call some plays. As far as the best section, it's all a matter of opinion. Numbers, Dyer County...Heart, Culleoka...and Loudest, Liberty.
  16. Can someone explain his role on the team? You say that he's a post and that's why his assists are low. Everytime that I have seen him play, he pops out, gets the ball behind the arc, and then fires up a three. Looks like if he was a true post that doesn't get assists, he would stay down low and wait for the ball. I think that he's not a team player. Just my opinion from what I've watched.
  17. Now wait a minute...the sixth fan is a factor, but i saw the picture of bballer13 from another post...that shot he's taking is my worst nightmare! it was scary looking!
  18. demario deserves this award in my opinion. his stats stay the same game in and game out. he is consistant and a team player. that being said, the temple guy doesn't cut it in my book. a four foot nothing heavy set kid could score 52 points in a game if he shot the ball everytime his hands touch it. i haven't been convinced that he realizes there are other players out there. if it wouldn't be for number 10 on the team, they'd be watching the games with union city and all the fans that can't get over the fact that lake and union aren't in murfreesboro!
  19. I agree with you on this prediction. Everyone is picking Temple because of their name. They didn't impress me. Mr. Basketball candidate from Temple didn't impress me either. I'm sure I'd score a lot of points if I shot 19 - 20 times.
  20. You failed to mention the one though. Cully has the DESIRE to win it all. Besides, how can someone say they lack in quickness and all when they begin their first state tournament game ever with a 12 - 2 run.
  21. You almost have to base it on a one time performance at this level. I believe if you want to win the state, you better be on your toes everytime you go out there. Don't count on luck always being there for you. You have to have those key players step it up. That's sometime I didn't see Temple doing last night. I didn't get to see the Humboldt game, so I listened to comments by a friend. I'm still taking Humboldt.
  22. Cully had to pack the house. Yesterday was a milestone for not only the school, but also the community. Everyone around here loves the team. We had to show everyone in the state that we not only have the best basketball team, but also the fact that our basketball team has the best fans supporting them!
  23. I have to agree. Temple didn't impress me any last night. Appeared that Temple only allowed one guy to shoot, and he wasn't nailing them down like I expected from a Mr. Basketball candidate. I'm going to have to say that Humboldt wins by 8 over Temple.
  24. ok, it's time for some serious baseball. everyone is dusting off from the preseason. now, what will be the games to watch? i'm still going with CA and Cully in the finals of this district. CA is always tough, and Cully has been improving every year for the past three or four. should be a great district to watch. How is everyone's team shaping up so far? Whose got the pitching? Whose got the power?
