  1. Congratulations to Pickett Co. on a well deserved and hard fought victory. If someone told me JC holds Jacob Wright without a field goal and would still lose the game i would have said you were crazy. Both teams played great "D" all night long. JC only scored 7 points in the first half and held PC to just 15 in the second half. Roddy was the difference and PC will miss him alot more than some of the fans know. good luck PC see you next year! /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  2. As usual there is someone from the private school trying to insult everyone else's intelligence on here by trying to say that all their players are from Wilson County when everyone knows that is not the truth. You had 9 different counties represented on your football team and i'm sure atleast half that many on your basketball team. FC won't beat either team in the opposite bracket but i do see them making the long trip to Chattanooga and playing Temple in the Sub-state for what its worth.
  3. A fairly reffed game? Are you kidding me? First of all JC beat you AT PICKETT COUNTY!!!!! NO ONE GETS A CALL AT PICKETT! Secondly the second game was played WITHOUT one of JC's starters (Bradley Crowder)due to illness and one of its main subs (Morgan Hensley) due to illness as well and couple that with Seth Lish fouling out early in the fourth and you have it very even on the "players sitting on the bench" thing. JC has only played ONE bad game since the christmas break and that was against Clarkrange, so no ones perfect. You say JC isn't playing their best right now? What about Pickett being tied with Westmoreland at home the other night in the fourth quarter? Both of these teams are good teams and i'm sure they will lay it on the line come tuesday. You say that you don't think Friendship can beat either team but especially Pickett? So in your biased opinion you think Pickett is better than JC and we can all understand that. When JC beats Pickett for the third time then maybe you'll give credit where credit is due! We all know PC thought they were just going to show up this year and win the district after Clay lost all those seniors but someone forgot to tell Jackson County they were suppose to lay down and worship the ground PC walks on. After tuesday it just might be the other way around! Either way i do agree that Friendship will NOT beat either of these two teams. As for the Friendship backers, well its not hard to have a good team year in and year out when you recruit from the STATE of Tn and beyond!
  4. Why would you make a statement like this? LA beat Cookeville at LA and while Cookeville did have a down year they gave alot of teams a run for their money in AAA as would LA. Come to think of it Cookeville lost to Class A Jackson County so according to you that would mean Cookeville couldn't cut it in Class A or AA. Your post makes no sense.
  5. If Jackson County plays the way they are capable of playing then yes they will not only win the Region but they will advance to the state tournament. I know PC fans will get on here and say things but if JC is on, PC cannot hang with them. They had their best chance at home and couldn't get it done, then came to JC and got JC without one of its stars in Bradley Crowder and still couldn't beat them. However having said all that if JC comes out and lays another egg like they did against Clarkrange then they won't even beat Gordonsville. This team was really focused after losing its first district game so i look for that to continue and once they get to Watertown they will not only shut down Wright as they have done all year, they will win the region and look for them to make some noise in the state tournament as well.
  6. With the loss Gordonsville now faces the one team that will be very hard to match up with as Jackson County is more athletic than Friendship. Gordonsville has the big kid but don't think they can match up with JC but it is AT Gordonsville so that does give them an edge.
  7. Not sure why you would be cheering for JC to lose as all this will do is put JC and Pickett in the semi's of the Region barring another major upset. JC is the one team that matches up against PC in the region so that wouldn't make much sense
  8. No doubt delete this topic its ridiculous! Everyone in 7AA would be crushed by White Co. the 4 seed in this district.
  9. Yeah just like the have lucked out to win 5 state championships. I guess you're right it would be luck and and just a one time thing.
  10. I'm guessing they didn't get to shoot 50 free throws in the game that was away from home?
  11. She deserved MVP. She is the BEST "PLAYER" in the district. Take her off Smith Co's team and they are dead last in the district and state probably. I don't care what anyone says there isn't a player ANYWHERE in this area A, AA, or AAA that is as good as she is. She is the BEST "PLAYER" in the Upper Cumberland and argueably the state! The only reason she didn't get MVP of 7AA was because her team stinks thats it! These other girls and the rest of us will be watching her play on tv in the NCAA finals one of these days and then the WNBA! So for all you people that go to school with the other players or your their mom and dad you need to get a life because she is BY FAR the best you have seen or will ever see play the game in this area at the center position, hands down! Put that in your pipe and smoke it!
  12. So is Jackson County all they've heard all year long is how much better C'range and RBS is than them and how C'range is this and RBS is that. How they are going to play eachother in the state finals etc... Well we all seen what happened when C'range came to the buro' and i expect more of the same. Only in the newspapers will it be an upset when JC wins.
  13. Nelson had a great game, but this won't be Monterey he's playing against, he will have someone his own size to play against! JC by 15
  14. I think Gordonsville wins this district with Friendship coming in 2nd or even 3rd. They aren't a very good tournament team. However it will be an all 7A finals AGAIN!
  15. yeah i think Pickett wins but not by that margin, more like 8.
  16. This is a 15 year old girl you're talking about...act like someone and know that your comments will not be tolerated.
  17. What facts are you talking about? The fact that the home teams shot 53 foul shots to the visitors 9? Are you saying this is common place and happens all the time? Should a team that travels then understand that the home team is going to shoot 44 more foul shots than the ones traveling? You weren't at the game i was, it was as blatant as it gets. Oh and for your info the teams did go 5/9 from the stripe but i guess youre right if they were perfect it might have made a difference but so would 44 MORE foul shots for the visitors not to mention the "no calls" and the refs allowing the home team to make blatant turnovers and tell the visiting coach "HE TOLD HIM HE COULD" like his word overrules that of the "RULES OF THE GAME" which is exactly what happened. This game is just one game that meant next to nothing to the teams. Its not our first loss by any stretch of the imagination and obviously won't be our last. The Moore Co. teams were great, very good on and off the floor. So were the fine people of Moore Co. very nice and hospitable nothing but good things to say about them. However why does this kind of thing happen with the referees? You can act all unbiased as you want bottom line is the home teams shot 53 foul shots the visitors 9. That decided the outcome of both games. Turn those fouls around and what happens? What they should have done is let the TEAMS decide it on the floor, that didn't happen thats my point! These refs dictated who was going to win these games, not the players that play the game.
  18. I am not one of these fans that sits in the stands and blames the refs for every little mistake, as most of them are out there working their butts off to get the call right every time! I coached for 21 years myself and i know how hard it is to referee a jv game let alone a high school game. Two of the refs we had were not youngsters cutting their teeth, just one of them was. The black gentleman seemed to be the "head" ref of the group in his 50's and the other gentleman also in his late 50's or there about. These guys were just not going to call it no matter what against the home team. The intentional foul on JC's part could have been called just that anytime down the floor as the kid was trying to keep the other from making the shot and when Moore Co. went up for it they called it just that way, however when JC did the same thing in almost an identical situation there was nothing called. The kid went sailing into the wall which does happen on occassion but atleast give the foul. Then to allow the other team not only to go more than 5 seconds on the inbound but to let them run the baseline and have the odacity to tell the coach HE was the one that TOLD him to run the baseline! I have seen ref's make mistakes before and have had a referee come over to me when i was coaching and say "hey i might have missed that one coach" but to look at the coach and tell him to SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP and not even acknowledge the fact that he made a HUGE mistake AGAIN in a critical part of the game is UNACCEPTABLE. No one is perfect by any means but a little consistency is all you can ask for, am i right or am i totally off based here bigwes, utvols1?
  19. Read the post on the boys under the heading "CRIME COMMITTED IN MOORE CO" and i think you will get your answer!
  20. I for one hope the coaching staff turns it into TSSAA as these refs need to be taken out of the game and not allowed to referee again. I have since found out that one of the ref's has actually called a "state championship" game and he was the one that not only allowed the player to run the baseline on a dead ball but he was also the one that told the coach that he told the player he could run the baseline and told the coach to sit down and shut up and he put his hand up as if to say "no more" and shook his head as he went down court in denial like the coach's were idiots or something. Both of these teams (boys and girls) are very good teams the boys both won their respective districts. The agressive play was at BOTH ends of the floor. This was just HOME TOWN REFS giving a HUGE advantage to the HOME team. Now ofcourse the JC boys could have made every shot that went in the air but it would not have made a difference, everytime they got close there was a foul called or something, somehow, someway went against them. Having said all that and even withstanding the foul shots that were given to Moore Co. in the end JC still had a chance to win the game but Moore Co. to their credit made the most of the refs blunders and won the game. Credit to Moore Co. for playing a great game and i'm sure they will have a shot at the state tournament. Switch the fouls around though and its a runaway the other way.
  21. Dana always gets outcoached come tournament time, look for the better "team" personel wise, to lose and the better "coached" team to win!
  22. Courtney Dyer 1st team from Jackson Co.
  23. Courtney started the game but was unable to go, she played all of 45 seconds in the first quarter and that was it. Couple that with Moore Co. shooting 25 free throws to Jackson Co.'s 3 and that pretty much says it all!
  24. I have been watching basketball for 57 years and i have never witnessed a more blatant act against kids in my entire life that someone didn't get arrested for. I want to start by saying to the fine people of Moore County and their players who showed excellent sportsmanship, that this has nothing to do with them nor is it a knock against them in any way, shape or form. The 3 officials decided the outcome of both games for some reason. Moore Co. shot a combined 53 foul shots to Jackson County's 9. 53-9 ARE YOU KIDDING ME? The boys from Jackson Co. lost by 7 points the girls by 2. Though you might think that was the worst part, however it wasn't. These 3 officials should be BANNED from ever calling another game EVER! Time and again they turned their heads to obvious fouls and turnovers only to call it totally different for the home team. Why is this? Why or how can they be put in this kind of position to do these things to innocent kids that are playing just as hard for their team. Are we all not AMERICANS? DO WE ALL NOT LIVE IN THE SAME STATE? How can these guys be held accountable? I will give you just a small synopsis of the game so you all can understand our frustration. Jackson Co.'s boys missed a shot and Moore Co. had a layup attempt at the other end in which a player from Jackson Co. fouled him on the way up. An intentional foul was called against our player in where they shot two foul shots and got the ball back. Later in the game the same thing ocurred only it was Jackson Co. on a break away layup with District MVP Tyler Cassety going up and being knocked not only out of bounds but into the wall. There was no intentional foul called and it gets better THERE WAS NO FOUL CALLED AT ALL! IT GETS BETTER!! The Coach from Moore Co. called a timeout, keep in mind with Cassety being knocked into the next state on the layup he did not make the shot. Moore Co. then goes to inbound the ball under Jackson Co's basket. Its a two point game at this time with 2:48 on the clock. Jackson Co. picks up in a full court press and denys the inbound the 5 second count is almost up so the player from Moore Co. starts running the baseline and eventually gets the ball inbounds. The coaches from Jackson Co. are sreaming at the refs because this is an obvious violation and a turnover. The ball is tipped out of bounds on the pass by Moore Co. and given BACK TO MOORE CO!!! The coaches from Jackson Co. are telling the refs he had just had a turnover and i promise you i was sitting right behind the scorers table and the ref told the coach and i quote " I TOLD HIM HE COULD RUN THE BASELINE COACH" The coach tells the ref it wasn't a made basket he can't do that the ref said again i quote "SHUT UP AND SIT DOWN COACH" and shook his head as if to say no to Jackson Co. WHY IS THIS KIND OF THING ALLOWED TO HAPPEN? THERE IS NO CALL FOR THIS! Moore Co. has a very good team we take nothing away from them but this game wasn't decided by the players and it was never going to be the refs made that clear from the outset of the game. I JUST WISH TSSAA WOULD DO SOMETHING TO THIS KIND OF REFEREEING. DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THIS CAN BE TURNED INTO TSSAA? WHAT KIND OF ACTIONS CAN BE TAKEN IN THESE SITUATIONS ? We are all Tennesseans and Americans, what happened in Moore Co. was a CRIME!
