  1. The Fighting Irish travel to Waverly this Friday night for a traditional rivalry game. Both teams lost last week, and will be looking to rebound. The game can be heard this Friday night on 105.1, pre-game at 7:15, kick off at 7:30
  2. Congrats to Jackson County I was a witness and can tell anyone, Jackson County did not try to run up the score at all, things just went their way, 70+ yard punt return, bad kick coverage for the Irish gave them a short field to work on, bad pass coverage with no pressure on the Jackson Co. QB, etc. And on that Jackson Co. QB, very impressive. does not throw a great ball, but throws patterns 10 yards and in, and lets his receivers do the work, yards after the catch, very impressed with their timing and teamwork. Best of luck to the Blue Devils this season
  3. Houston County Football will be broad cast on Solid Gospel 105.1, WVRY. We are working on the internet feed, should be available (hopefully) by week 3
  4. Anyone making the trip, bring you radios, this game will be live on 105.1. All of Houston County's games this season will be carried by 105.1
  5. Monday Results: Sycamore 9 Stewart Co. 1 Cheatham Co. 7 Harpeth 2 Creekwood 1 Fairview 0 Waverly 3 MCHS 2 Tuesday's Games: Sycamore @ Montgomery Central (the game will be on 105.1 FM at 5:00 PM) Cheatham County @ Fairview and I believe Waverly @ Creekwood
  6. The Montgomery Central - Waverly softball game will be on Solid Gospel 105.1 FM today at 5:00 PM.
  7. I hope who ever wants to come in, should realize this, once the new high school opens, the numbers at NE could drop them down to even a 3A classification. that would be a better competitive level for them, or even back to 4A, so clarksville could basically have it's own region, plus springfield. And Sutherland? Really? does he want to be a coach, or a restuarant worker?
  8. Golfendude, you hit the nail on the head. Coach Jim Snyder at Clarksville has done quite a bit with a team that was supposed to be in a rebuilding year, after loosing an entire starting backfield, and had an unproven defense without it's studs. To set here one win away from a region championship, a 8-1 record, and headed to the state play-offs for a 4th straight year, quite an accomplishment, so I think Coach Snyder should get some serious consideration.
  9. This should be a good one. Clarksville's offense has got to get something going, and early. Last week the offense produced one field goal, as the result of great field position thanks to a huge punt return. The offense stalled out against the Knights. Points from a Defensive TD and a safety, you can not rely on those things this week against the Bears. If the Wildcats can establish a running game, and control their problems with penalties, I like their chances. But if the Bears jump out early, it could get ugly.
  10. Don't forget, you can watch the game tonight on Channel 9, C-TV at 7:00
  11. Northeast can throw the ball, but MUST establish a running game to get balance. I'll take the East in a close one
  12. This game with be the Saturn of Clarksville Game of the Week, and will be replayed on Channel 9 on Tuesday night at 7:00. Everyone saying that Rossview could not score on C.A. in the jamboree, remember, they did score, but were called back due to penalties. I expect a shoot-out!
  13. Everybody is throwing out all of these big numbers, but I think the difference will be 10 or less. I watched Rossview last week, and the question about the passing game for the Hawks, who knows. They did not have to throw the ball last week, NE had no answer for the running game. But a point of interest, Rossview allowed a lot of completions on short passes to the Eagles. That could provide openings for the Wildcats. I think the Hawks can run the football, and we all know the 'Cats can. I expect a good one, and again, with less than 10 points seperating them in the end.
  14. Rossview did score on C.A., but they were called back due to penalties. I think Rossview is a good football team, but there are too many new pieces to replace from last year.
  15. Will be interesting to see the Clarksville offense. Looked good and strong in the Montgomery Co. jamboree, but that was against a sub-par team, missing some players. Defensively, I think they may be at even-maybe improved to last year, but offensively, they have to get the timing right with all the new pieces to the puzzle.
