  1. Well, CPA is a Christian school, so maybe they get students, because the parents of the students want them to grow religiously and academically at the same time. Also factors such as nicer facilities, less trouble making kids, better education, more recognized by universities, and so on would lead kids to go to private schools.
  2. congrats to mcallie what were the scores to the matches?
  3. Notre Dame finished fourth. They played hard but were dissappointed.
  4. No team in class A/AA can recruit public or private. CPA did not recruit any of there players. The public schools have the advantage over the private schools because the private schools have to multiply there enrollment by 1.8 and play with public schools almost twice there size. CPA won on hard work not recruiting. The schools that recruit are in D2 like Baylor and MBA. Besides no schools even recruit for golf anyways except maybe Baylor, and no schools can recruit legally they can only give financial aid to kids that want to go to their schools and need the money. Don't take away anything from private schools they are at the disadvantage. Congratulations again to CPA and Payne Denman for their hard earned accomplishments.
  5. CPA is the A/AA state champ with a victory by 19 strokes Anderson Co. finished 2nd followed by Dekalb Co. who was tied with CPA after the first day Payne Denman won medalist with a 5 under for the tourney Congrats to CPA and Payne Denman
  6. I know CPA and dekalb are 2 favorites CPA won their district with 2nd and 3rd medalists at 71- Taylor and Peyton Deming behind Tyler Smith who shot 67 and is definitely a favorite as an individual along with Taylor Deming, and Payne Denman I am not sure about any teams outside of CPA and dekalb that are threats to the state title
  7. Teams 1. Baylor 2. Hendersonville 3. CPA 4. Farragaut 5. Mcallie 6. JP2 7. Ensworth 8. Father Ryan 9. Houston High 10. FRA Individuals Thorton, Vadeventer, Mitchell- Baylor Payne Denman- Dekalb Tyler Smith- FRA Steven Fox, Steve Lee- Hendersonville Taylor Deming- CPA Robbie Taylor- BGA
  8. Who? Goodpasture? They have a chance, but I think it is unlikely because CPA beat them at their home course, so I don't think they will make it out of region. But yea i think CPA has a good chance, they look like the favorites to make it out of their region, but I'm not familiar with the other teams in the state. I'm not really sure how good dekalb and all those other schools are.
  9. Riverside Golf Center Team Winners CPA- 70, 74, 75, 76, 77 dropped Goodpasture- 71, 72, 76, 78 FRA- 72, 74, 78, 80 *David Lipscomb (last years A/AA state championship team) did not make it out of this very tough district Individual Winners Taylor Deming (CPA)- 70 Zach Pursell (Goodpasture)- 71 Chris Goddard (FRA)- 72 *Won in playoff Alex Cox (Goodpasture)- 72 Tyler Smith (FRA)- 74 * Won in playoff **This is Goodpastures home course and where they play there best golf, CPA did not play there best but still pulled off the victory
  10. im not mad at dc at all. i thought the shot that "rex" hit in the end of the game was insane...it was amazing winning shot and nothing should be taken from the shot. however, the shot should have never happened and that is just the truth. im not trying to be a sore loser and it seems like dc is getting mad at cpa for complaining but i think dc would be doing the same, bc clearly the end of the game the clock just was not right. the refs probably leaned towards cpa the whole game giving them good calls, but that is also due to the tough defense dc plays (its hard not to foul when you play guys that tight). if i were a dc fan i would be happy with the win and definately take it and hope to win state, but i would not get mad at cpa for complaining.
  11. I'd like to say that I think both teams are great teams. Probably the best 2 teams in the state for their division (unlucky draw for both). However, I watched the official TSSAA video about 4 times today looking only at the last 15 seconds. When our player got fouled at the end of the game, time should have actually expired right before he was fouled. We took a stop watch and timed it correctly. The clock keeper started the clock late twice, and he added on time. The three point shot at the end looked like a 3 to me, however if you watch the film the ref closest to the shot (about 5 ft. away-great view) called the shot a 2! The ref further away called it a 3, but it was not his call to make. The clock keeper immediately put up 3 points when the shot was made, and the refs never came together to make a final decision. They just ran off the court, but this shot should have NEVER taken place. Anybody that has the last 15 seconds on tape, carefully time it yourself and see who the real winner is. Congratulations to CPA on the win, and to the chacktaw's coach for somehow getting the clock keeper to add more time.

  13. The "Big Daddy" from White House not only needs size and post skills to match up with Z Mason, Z is an incredible shooter and ball handler. He could play any spot on the floor. I hope White House and CPA play. That will be an interesting game.
  14. I dont now why people are saying if you take away the 19-0 lead it wasnt a game?! First of all you are not just given a 19-0 lead and second of all there were several lead changes after that even into the 4th quarter. I thought CPA easily played with GP they just had some poor coaching decisions otherwise they were easlily in it. If CPA just plays there game and Lowery is on they can win this, and I am picking CPA to win bc i think there srs. refuse to lose, however whoever wins will run over every other team they face til the State Championship against Aloa. Camden will not be a match either team will win by 2 tds, and if either team ever gets to play DCA again they would both win by at least 2 tds maybe a lot worse bc they want revenge for DCA stealing the Region Title. CPA beat DCA by 17 and DCA luckily bead GP wont happen again i hope DCA makes it so we can see what happens.
  15. Goodpasture Alcoa and CPA are 3 of the best 5 teams in the state...not a suprise except maybe CPA who plays Goodpasture Round 1
