  1. I have gotten word that he has been having some serious medical problems in recent weeks. He will be missed, and is in my prayers. He has done an awesome job at the helm, and I know he will be hard to replace. This is a dark day here in Viking land.
  2. Does anyone know how #48 for the Vikings is????
  3. Great showing last night for the Vikings!!! What impresses me the most is that we are looking so much better than the beginning of the year. The last 3 or 4 weeks, we have seemed to improve dramatically each game. We look like a completely different team than we did in week 4. Hopefully this improvement will continue. I hope the Betsy THS rivalry will continue. Both schools have great respect for each other, and this is my personal favorite rivalry spanning the last 40 years. Does anyone know if we will continue to play next year? I heard we will not, and I think that would be a HUGE travesty. Does anyone know how #48 is, and if he'll be back? He has wrecked havoc in the backfield the last few weeks playing on the defensive line.
  4. TN High is a traditional 4a power, however this year are down big time. From what I have seen so far, THS will be LUCKY to go 6-4. Hopefully they will come on for the first time vs. the toppers.
  5. Loosing Matt Pendleton hurt a ton, he is one of the best athletes on the team; but don't forget about Tyler Greene. From what I understand he dislocated his hip, and that was a tremendous blow to the Vikings. I remember watching him as a freshmen, and he was unbelievable catching the football. He could be triple covered and go up and get the ball just about every time. I was looking at him being one of the go to receivers this year, and also playing on defense. We will see how much depth the Vikings have.
  6. I'm not sure, big question mark from everyone that I have talked to. I do know that the vikings have been jinxed with some season ending injuries to 2 of their key players in the last couple of weeks.
  7. Congrats to Volunteer, they just plain dominated the Vikings. Good luck to you all in the next round. Does anybody know what happened to Elijah Bible??? Why was our best player on the team not playing??? I don't think he was even dressed out, unless he switched numbers. On a side note, I've been watching THS football for a long time, and I can't recall EVER being at a home playoff game where the visiting team brought TWICE as many fans as the home crowd had.
  8. Can someone post a the results for the last 25 years or so between these two teams? I remember the '97 game, and it was one of the best games I've ever seen in the Stone Castle.... It was close all night long, and it came down to either single, or double overtime w/ the Vikings prevailing. I think THS won back in the early 90's or maybe the late 80's, but besides that, I can only remember THS winning a handfull between now and the early 70's, I don't remember what years though. This is a great game, and I was excited to see it come back together. I think both schools (and fans) have respect for each other, and enjoy the rivalry.
  9. From watchin Hutton and Hearst run the ball last year in JV games, I would say someone else... I hope they both can contribute a lot, but from everthing I'm hearing, and from watching the freshmen team last year, along w/ Baker (Sr) I would say the most tallent at RB are 3 sophmores... Leonard, Pendleton, and Sheppard. It's scary how young THS could be this year. On a positive note, we've got a solid class that will be sophmores, I think they will get a lot of expierence this year.
  10. Congradulations to Gil Payne for getting the Baseball Job. Hopefully he can do well. I know he's got a great group of sophmores coming up next year. Should be able to build.
  11. From everything I'm hearing, very young indeed. We could possibly have a lot of Sophmores contributing this year, particularly on the offensive side of the ball. I have seen both QB's play, and I think they both have potential to be good players. I was impressed with the way Canty came in the game against Morristown West last year under the circumstances that he did (about the 3rd or 4th play of the game). He did the best he could against a hands down better team, and did not seem to fold under pressure. It's hard to judge a freshman sometimes, but Harmon definitley was one of the better Freshman QB's in the area last year. On a baseball note; has anyone heard who is going to get the Head Baseball job?
