  1. If you have ever been to an on-campus baylor mccallie game then you know that the atmosphere at finley holds no candle. Even the mccallie fans 2 years ago on here ( at least the reasonable ones) were saying that it was an experience like no other. As far as advantage goes- how? almost equal fans on both sides. blue can have it on their campus too but they choose not to. The game isnt for the general public, its for baylor and mccallie. Besides its not like other high schools arent playing that night. I guess McCallie's endowment isnt taking a beating, must be nice. Does that cover state rings? But i'm sure if they ever needed any more students they would certainly put some billboards up.
  2. Cute B/M quote. That has absolutley nothing to do with any streak, let alone mccallie's streak. The Yankee analogy had me rolling too. If we were all to envy any school in DII, my guess would be one somewhere within 15 miles of nashville. or mus. But maybe going 6-5 and losing in the 1st round of the playoffs regularly is something to envy for some. As far as intelligent kids go- take a look at the league. top to bottom.
  3. The question is can mccallie trip up mba. McCallie in my opinion is very underrated. They dont have any big time play makers, but they have decent athletes that are sound fundamentally- aka they have good coaches. They will hang around with mba for a while, very pesky. But I think MBA has too much size and depth for mccallie to handle. The longer the blues drives are, the better chance they have. prediction MBA- 31 McCallie-12 ( missed extra point and 2 fg's) war eagle tells no lies
  4. We'll save the b/m chatter for another week. The fact is, Baylor played MBA scoreless in the second half. MBA's touchdown drives were from the Baylor 20 and 25. From what it looks like Offensivley they didnt play fundamentally sound, but the defense seems to be another story. Another thing MBA has over Ensworth is depth. But God forbid they settle for more linemen under 6'0 300. An enrollment of 370 hurts. Going both ways will not be a problem for MBA like it is for Ensworth. Friday should be very interesting, is it at mccallie?
  5. apologies to blue mom, it was actually tornado fan 10 that said 3-0 great start
  6. Ok, ladies and gents...I'm here with my eternal optimism firmly in place. The D-Line is looking good with lots of upperclassmen on board. The 0-Line is as strong as ever. Special teams are clicking. The team overall has come together very nicely. I believe that my Blue Tornado will be just fine and will be prepared for the competition at hand. I would predict a very close contest. We must contain Orleans. I'm sure our coaches are preparing the young gentlemen to the max. I would say the Blue by 3. Hope the trip down is uneventful and look for the crazy mom in the blue cowboy hat! This is coming from the same blue mom that thinks the year looks promising for big blue after a 3-0 start. What? Is that a joke? Look who McCallie has played. Their season, much like baylor's (except for bga game) starts this Thursday and Friday. Ensworth is ranked in the top 15 nationally in some poles. The only thing mccallie will win by 3 is the 4th quarter Ensworth jv game
  7. Father Ryan: Brenden Connely - Princeton Baylor :Z Gibson- preffered walk on at MTSU J Clark- walk on at UT...following in papa's footsteps thoughts? additions?
  8. Ya its true, baylor's getting turf
  9. yes, Baylor lost up there 59-45 earlier this year, officiating is a lot different there than it is in chattanooga, and unfortunetly its at ensworth
  10. i'll answer my own question my source has filled me in BA 55 MBA 52 Ensworth over JPII by 11 Ryan overcomes those scrappy spartans 58-29
  11. Baylor downs BGA 53-48 cash is let out of his cage and scores 15....a coming out party of sorts Baylor advances to Regions semis on monday at ensworth to play the winner of Webb-Ryan ( so ryan) Baylor also gains a spot in the sub state ( quarters) now trying to get home court advantage in sub state on a sidenote- since when did tssaa start doing $5 admission? how generous of them to knock it down from 7 to 5
  12. It really was huge, looks like Baylor will have a 2 seed going into region, from my sources, they say the win guarentees home court first round of region
  13. well baylor only played 6 guys the whole night including a freshman one of the starters was out with a fever 6th man had flu other bench player was also sick
  14. Shorthanded (8 men) Baylor takes down a huge Ensworth squad I believe I just witnessed an act of God Your thoughts---
  15. ok so i just herd this from a friend of a friend and wondered if there was any truth to it but MUS's quarterback- is it true that he is only a junior but 19 years old, therefore inelligible for next year? dont mean to stir up any rumors but was just curious- great dual threat qb
  16. Well, it didnt exactly make it harder, sure, it takes a lot to cause those but it wasnt the BA team we are used to seeing. Maybe I didnt make it clear enough, give MUS all the credit, they won straight up, and they had a great year.
  17. ya your deffinetely not in the 5th grade, if you are, thats sad -- as far as the game went, i was very suprised at all of BA's fumbles, with a short field to work with almost every scoring drive, it made it pretty easy for MUS. But regardless, any time you exploit a team with the talent that BA has it is a good win. I also didnt think BA looked like they played together, but I've herd thats been there story all year in their losses
  18. Back-Sam Williams, if not this year then next year Lineman-Alex Bullard Kicker-Alex Fletcher
  19. Some of those kids did stay at home but wouldnt have made much of a difference, if any. Baylor has kept it close in almost every game but just cant finish. There is a lack of enthusiasm surrounding the program, but its only a matter of time before they get back on track.
  20. Dont worry, it will be back at baylor next year, the atmosphere at finley holds no candle to last year at baylor, too much room for socialization, too spread out, fans to far apart
  21. with the two both going out of state and winning, any thoughts on MBA @ Baylor this week?
  22. As far as the west goes, no clue PJPII i see as having another losing season, better than last year though, they will go as Wesley Tate goes Father Ryan peeked last year, but could still play contender Webb- cant wait to see what they can do, younger guys have a year of expeirence including thier soph qb, but to my understanding lost out on a little at the rb position McCallie- lost some speed , they have pretty good skill players, ( Fullam at Saftey, John Brock RB, and Younger Coleman and Rush at qb) depending on who wins that battle, but they lack size Baylor- Possible Darkhorse, devestating loss of seniors last year that sufferered an unprecedented amount of injuries, whole offensive line returns, they have been starting together since thier sophmore year. QB is wide open right now, several running backs return, stellar defense, lacking depth You didnt ask about MBA and BA but i think we can all agree, at least on BA BA will keep on filling holes in the depth chart (lets not get into the recruiting issues) losing Chris Jordan hurts but they have a couple of big time recruits this year, contrary to Baylor, depth is no issue MBA lost over 20 seniors including a solid backfield with bartholomew and lineman Preston Baily, not too sure, depends on if younger guys can ajust quickly, but considering their first game is against that Ohio powerhouse, they better ajust quickly
