  1. Bearden has too much experience and speed. Bearden 5-0.
  2. I'm not sure. I just saw on Eurosport the score was 4-2.
  3. I noticed that Knox West defeated Morristown West 4-2. Does anyone have any details on this game?
  4. When is this article supposed to come out? Should be interesting.
  5. Well, it looks like 5 of those goals came in a game against Lenoir City's JV team. So I believe these numbers may be skewed a little bit. But can you really put much of an emphasis on goals scored during scrimmages.
  6. Ha... good luck, cuz I got nothing!
  7. Yeah, i think it was an attempt to keep me guessing. I think, even if we did figure him out, he would never tell us. So what's the point?
  8. I think I've pretty much given up on trying to find out who dins is. Last year it was killing me and it seemed like I spent most of my time looking around trying to point him out. But now that I've given up, I am much more relaxed. I look forward to his analyses (plural form of analysis), but other than that, I'm over it. Maybe if we quit caring, it wont' be fun for him anymore and he will reveal himself.
  9. Bearden... direct... surely not. But that's what they do, and so far it works for them. So overall, probably wasn't a very good game for a spectator, huh?
  10. Oh no, not another Dins. Well, thats ok, I guess we need another challenge.
  11. Very BIG! Compared to our guys, Webb looked like monsters. They played physical and a very fast paced offense. They are good in the middle and up top. With their size, they are very good with balls in the air. So watch out for them on corner kicks. They could be deadly. Maryville's finishing is definitely a weak part in their game. I know of 2 breakaways and an open net in the 2nd half, and a few more high percentage shots in the 1st half that missed. Overall a good test for both teams.
  12. what kind of team does South-Doyle have this year? aren't they fairly young? because, otherwise, this is just scary!
  13. For once, I believe I am going to have to agree with dins here. His babble is sometimes overwhelming, but this time he is right. CAK will be a force again this year. I don't know if they are as good as Catholic and some of the other top contenders in AA/A right now, but I know by the time tournament time comes around BigG will have his boys ready. You don't become state contenders year in and year out and then all of a sudden one year drop out of it all. CAK might not have the greatest talent this year, but they have experience in those type of games and that makes up for a lot. They have a young team that will only get better with time. CAK has a solid center mid who would make a good addition on any team and a very tough central defender who owns just about anybody that comes near him. So, CAK has the players is the spots that will help younger players get better. Good luck to you BigG.
  14. Fairly good game considering the conditions. Even with the wet field we were still able to see some good offense. I thought both teams played hard and looked to be well conditioned. There were many sloppy passes and traps, but that is to be expected this early in the season. A lot of the questions were answered in this game. As a whole, I think both teams can be very pleased. BigG, I hear you have a pretty young team? If that is the truth, you have great potential in the future. I guess you would consider Maryville a veteran team, but they are relying heavily on some underclassmen. Probably one of the most well rounded teams they have seen in a while. Still, Maryville is in one of the toughest districts and regions. So maybe they will turn some heads and surprise some people.
  15. I heard 6 goals in the last 15 minutes and 3 goals in the last 6 minutes. The game was tied at 4-4 with a 1:30 left and Farragut hit a shot in the upper 90. Probably the best game of the year as it should be.
  16. Farragut - 5 Bearden - 4 Farragut wins!
  17. OTP... i think you may be on to something.
  18. I bet you wouldn't get bored if dins was talking about South-Doyle in his lengthy summaries. Some people like to read what dins has to say. Personally, I think he just likes to hear himself talk and just because he uses big words everyone thinks he's intelligent. He's not fooling me. I remain unphased by his big words. I think he's hiding something.
  19. But think about Bearden and Farragut and their respective districts and regions. There are some good teams in that district alone, that in any other region across the state could compete and make it far in the tournament. But they can't get out of their own region because they are having to play the one of the eventual state champion contenders. These teams are getting put out early in the tournament and other schools across the state, that were beaten by them solidly are going on past regions and sub-states. It just doesn't seem fair. I wonder if there could be a seeding like the NCAA basketball tournament. Yeah, now that would be fun! A lot of traveling, I'd say, but it could work.
  20. This topic has taken off in a different direction. I have made a separate thread now, talking about the TN Playoff system and would love to hear some other suggestions. We can now save this thread for CAK/Catholic now.
  21. Think of how the NCAA basketball tournament is. Duke and UNC always go to the tournament, but they go to different regions. They were the two best teams in the ACC, so they both get bids. Same goes for Catholic/CAK. They were both solid in the regular season, so they both should get a high seed, and then the playoffs begin. This business where teams keep playing each other over and over again is ridiculous. And it is even more ridiculous that teams can afford to lose in the playoffs. Most states DO NOT do this. Look at how North Carolina soccer sets up their playoff system. Top bids in the district go to the tourney, and then if you lose, you're out...no resting players, no meeting up with the same team one game later. It is very simple and makes for a more intense playoff atmosphere. Teams play desperately and with more passion. You cannot afford to rest and/or save players if there is a chance you are going home. With the exception of football, TN HS sports gives teams too many chances to be "off their game" in the playoffs.
