Here is the scoop that has been reported to me Brighton has more athletes than Munford Although Munford has much better coaching the disparity in athletes will not be overcome this year at least. Brighton, Munford & Cov each have a so called feeder middle school, however Brighton has been getting in addition to their own, both MMS & CMS's better athletes. Over the last several yrs they have been getting the best RB's from each of these schools. It has'nt helped much. Covington & Munford have been doing more with less, but tis yr cov has a coach who is learning to coach at the program's expense. Covington has good athletes and should be competing for the district as usual. Munford with a great coach, however, is winning with mirrors. Why would Alcoa play B T Washington? They are one of the worst teams in western Tennessee if not all of Tn. they also have very little fan support. I would be willing to bet they'd have less than 30 BTW fans at their home games definitely not to a road game even a half hour road trip

Yank, were you at the Haywood game. I really wondered how you would return to the board after all the trash you talked even as far back as spring. JCM IS PITIFUL. JCM is loaded with athletes , plenty of talent (athletes)j however very little know how, leadership, discipline & organization. Yanker, I saw the game, the offensive cordinator was practically drawing plays in the sky. Is the slant route to the inside left receiiver the only route he knows or is it the only one he can carve in the sky. they ran it like 6-7 times straight with no success. The scores you guys got were late when the game was already decided. You probably should'nt go to any of the remaining region games, they will be ugly. JCM has no offense, Defense is fair just because of the athletes. I hope they get it together, they seem like some good kids. You are the lost credibility Yanker.

I hope you can beat LIBERTY. They lost to Ripley who is not very good, the worst Ripley team I've seen in years. That reflects the depth of despair in COUGAR LAND. Not can they compete for the crown but can they win one of the easiest games on the schedule.

1. BRIGHTON- talent loaded, most athletes in the district- However- ranking based just on talent level alone, in reality BHS just doesn't have the most crucial component needed, not to mention the fact they play the weakest non-district schedule in the entire TN. They pay the weakest of the weak to come to BHS for a guaranteed win. Do it every yr, it's shipley's legacy at BHS, pay weak teams to come play at BHS, 6-7 home games every yr in the regular season with only 3-4 on the road. Pay the weakest teams out of Memphis, usually even a small 2 or 3 A school, $2000 to come take a loss. Half if not more of the schools 3-4 wins every yr are to inferior teams bought with cash. so in reality i am way over optimistic. 2. HENRY COUNTY- we'll see 3. HARDIN COUNTY- very talented Sam (is it) Schutt 4.JCM (or maybe northside who beat both JCM & Liberty last yr) for JCM to be successful Gavin Hardin must get his teammates (surrounding cast) to elevate their level of play, become a unit, team players, play every snap & definitely be more disciplined. Outstanding talented player, just let his play do the talking, speak less lead more offensive system needs improvement

I AGREE TOTALLY! They were loaded last year & did nothing they actually get the better talent in their area year in & year out I am not a Brighton fan, just relaying the talent outlook

BRIGHTON says they will beat you both ( JCM & HC ) So look/plan for a !st ROUND PLAYOFF game to be on the road at best

Are the expectations so low in Obion County that not making the playoffs 3 of 4 yrs is considered successful. Not to mention the last 3 of a 4 yr tenure. Practically everyone makes the playoffs these days. Back in the day only the top team of a district made the playoffs, now very few teams are excluded. And the injury excuses, every team can say that, every team has injuries, that's part of the business, You just overcome them. you have great facilities, you ought to be able to beat people from time to time. I also feel they have better talent than people give them credit for. Expect more

It is suspicious why a coach would leave a 4AAAA school for a 1A school in a rural area? makes you wonder if was run off or writing was on the wall

i don't get it that people under-estimate obion's talent the facilities are top notch and serve as an equalizer Hill won there & competed for the championship, I think Hill not only made the playoffs but in fact won the district title before Bowling's arrival. So actually the program regressed under Bowling's tenure. it's just not an even playing field when excuses/reservations are made for some but not others. I don't mean to be negative but only in response to OC/UC the fact is Bowling was'nt successful at OC, little or no playoffs give UC or any other coach the same liberal views & respect Sure he's a kind gentleman but we're talking about coaching success

UC , your coach deserves more respect did Bowling even make the playoffs at Obion while he was there? I know they did'nt this yr where's the logic The top 4 of 6 make the playoffs in the district OC also has great facilities good fella, of course

REGION 7 4A HENRY COUNTY - FAVORITE MUNFORD- OVER-ACHIEVER BRIGHTON- loaded with talent but lack coaching JCM- once proud program headed down quickly

If I understand it correctly, this new extended dead period does'nt take into effect this summer. It begins next year (summer 08). Am I right? Therefore, it does'nt affect anything for this summer & fall, as far as practicing is concerned
