This type of question has about as much merit & credibility as asking who is the best waterboy in the state?

A good person- yes,. just not a football coach. Guy is learning how to coach at covington's expense. Covington has the talent , these two years were supposed to be bumper years. Region seems to be down this year as well so maybe can still win a few. Haywood has already lost two -to inner-city memphis teams and barely beat a down JCM team and they beat Dyersburg, Haywoods two wins were by a total of 6 points. Losing to Brighton , he doesn't even know the significance. The Barten guy who was principle should be laid the blame. the football team and community are suffering from his principleship, the academics of the school was left in ruins and on the failure list. Football as you can see total disaster- many pay the consequences of his reign. These are the overwhelming opinions that i am getting from the Covington folk, is it valid only they can tell, but it certainly appears to be. Hopefully they'll get it together

I don't recall bowling even making the playoffs at OC and then at Dyersburg he by far had the best talent and didn't win it this year. why should OC be weary.where's the merit

one take-you look guy in the eye & tell no football coach. also some will carry water for two weeks & say they coached in nfl. initially ? was why leave a 5A for a small 1A school? how about 2-8 & being run off. also said wanted to go to a small town, however apply everywhere possible including very large cities. just looking for place to land and LC balked hook line & stinker counter take-guy can really coach, give him a chance, he'll have the falcons far into the playoffs in the future. for the most part doing fabulous, successful on/in field/classroom & locker room, lucky to have such a coach, LC adm. got a gem what is it? hear two versions hope for LC's part it's the former get over it

Don't know much about these teams. Considering picking the upset in the pickems. What kind of game does Cheatham play? What type of offense do they run, do they have any outstanding players.etc. I know FW likes to throw & has one or two decent players.

If Haywood loses to Cov they will not finish higher then 3rd. If they finish tied with DC, DC will be seeded higher because of the head to head loss. Don't look for them to finish higher than 3rd. Again Covington 28 Haywood 17

I disagree with your take on this, it appears they have no discipline from the top. The HC should not tolerate this. It is total disrespect to the HC, the team, school, teammates, school system & their community( but evidently they don't know any better). It is a reflection of the lack of discipline (appears to be absolutely no discipline in the program). That is the #1 reason they are so terrible despite all the talent they have. An assistant coach is fighting a no win battle if the HC allows this type of behavior to take place. You're right HC should'nt have to deal with this type of activity. And he wouldn't have to if he has taken care of business on a daily basics. I seen JCM at the Haywood game #1 and it was apparent they had little or no discipline, direction or organization. Actually no football knowledge was displayed as well. OC not a clue about offense.. Seem like good people just with little or no direction, discipline or knowhow It's the lack of discipline,leadership , knowledge and want to from the top of the school district, principal on down to the HC

I agree Haywood has as much talent as anyone in west Tn, Athlete wise I think JCM has the best (but with little or no leadership,discipline,organization &/or lack of football knowledge) it does'nt show. Athlete wise in west Tn I would put 1.JCM 2.Haywood County 3 Dyersburg (with OC's best player) 4 Jackson South Side 5. Tomcats went from looking pretty good to possibly missing the playoffs. Now fighting for 3rd or 4th place. tomcats were emotionally drained after win over FW, a game they did'nt feel they would win & probably should'nt. Several big penalities and bad punt snaps really hurt FW. Did'nt play well against DC. Tomcats must get it back on track this week if going to make the playoffs. Look for Cov to upset the Cats. They've had two weeks to prepare plus fall break. Cov still has enough talent to win despite coaching situation. Haywood has too much talent to miss playoffs but can happen if they don't take care of bizness. Hate to say Cov 28 HC 17

I agree yanker, as I stated long ago in an earlier post before the season. JCM's problem is not declining #'s, lack of talent, injuries or anything else. It is lack of leadership, football knowledge, direction and work ethic. JCM has the best talent in west Tn. They have better athletes than anyone on their schedule. Their OC has not a clue what he is doing and it's unfortunate the kids have to pay as a result of this poor leadership.

FW' s defense has'nt stopped anybody all yr so they'll have to outscore SS to win. Always seem to have problems stopping a good running team. Thompson's offense is often erratic & unorganized(many penalties) but on a good night they can put up points. Very inconsistent. Kicking game is also suspect. If they can avoid mistakes & turnovers they will have a chance. Must stop SS running game- no secret.. If they do FW 27 SS 20

Pee-Wee Herman or Richard Simmons could win a gold ball with Matt Jones

First, I don't recall marshall winning a gold ball, i know not at munford Second -perception is usually wrong- Marshall was thought to have a disciplined program, I've heard from kids that played for him say the opposite- that the weary & mills kid got away with everything no discipline at all.(could be inaccurate but seems reliable source- yrs ago) thirdly-Randall could coach circles around marshall, no comparison, you can see what he & the previous 2 coaches were capable of.(0-30) as far as brighton- word is wolfe stays under shipley's desk. no other reason would he be there
