  1. You are not county "champeens" until you all plsy wartburg in week 10 as you all travel there for their senior night...have fun with that..
  2. Uh oh its rivalry time. No doubt the biggest rivalry in Morgan Co. Everyones been talkin this one up ever since Wartburg beat Coalfield last year. People say it was a fluke, but we will see this Friday. I think Wartburg has the speed and experience advantage over Coalfield, but its always going to be a fight. I'm not going to predict any scores but I'm leaning to Wartburg in this years matchup between the two....cant wait
  3. I'm not going to predict any scores, but Wartburg should come out on top. They better not overlook anybody. They can't afford to. I'm hoping since this is a district game and a good ole morgan county game Wartburg will be ready. Go Dawgs
  4. Wartburg played thier hearts out...the score did not show how close of a game it really was. Wartburg made too many stupid mistakes..they cant keep falling back on that excuse though. It's time to fix the mistakes and get on the right track. The offense showed a little spark on their first possession then fumbled in the red zone. Then we fumble on a kickoff return. Both which Oneida capitalized on. Mistakes like that add up. Get ready for Harriman guys. Keep it up.
  5. Wartburg won 7-6. Defense was very, very stout and held the offense to hardly any yards at all and caused chaos. It took forever to get the offense going....that seems to be our one major problem. #1 and #2 ran the ball realy well in their new power formation and steadily worked down the field. When we did get it rolling our Dogs just couldnt capitalize and finish the drive and would either fumble or penalize themselves with flags. We had a long td run called back for holding in the first or seecond quarter and then we drove all the way down to the three and fumbled an option pitch and lost it. Taft's only points were off of a fumble recovery for a TD. Wartburg scored with around 5 minutes to go with an interception taken back for a TD and the extra point to put them ahead 7-6. Judging by all the mistakes made...the score should have AT LEAST been 14 or 21 to nothing Wartburg.
  6. Word is that Taft is coming to Wartburg Friday for a little jamboree. Any details? Could be an exciting night.
  7. He coaches defensive ends i believe. I was at the scrimmage and the offense does need work but i believe it will be ready to go by the time they travel to Monterry. Defense looked very very tough only giving up a few long plays on just one slip up. They are held down by a very tough front and some stout linebackers with great experience. Im excited to see how the Dogs progress during this season, alot of people are excited.
  8. I heard Wartburg is scrimmaging Stone Memorial on Saturday. Does anybody know what time?
  9. Not sure what time when it starts, but it is Saturday at Wartburg
  10. I saw an article in the paper about Wartburg's weight lifting and it sounds like they are headed in the right direction and looking pretty good. I'm excited to see how all of it pays off during the season.
  11. What were some things that stood out to everyone during the scrimmage?
  12. 3 seniors and probably for sure starters on both sides of the ball are missing due to injury and a few more are injured also...not sure when they will be back though but adding those guys and the baseball players will help greatly.
  13. Wartburg will scrimmage Sequoya on the 14th at Wartburg 6:00
