The girls needed to hear that tonight they seemed to have gotten down after the 2nd inning and they could not rebound with a positive attitude....Goodpasture has a good pitcher not sure about Defense we didnt give them any hits to show us our defense but the girls will come out fighting in the morning today was to long of a wait....Good luck ladies we know you can do it.....You guys just seem to like to do things the hard way....

The game tonight was a good game, both teams played well....Great Job Gibbs Ladies just keep that smile on their face and they will go far...

"Gold Teams" are far and few in between here in this area because everyone wants their child to be center of attention and No one likes to play together as one Big team, A couple years ago I think I seen the best team together playing in a Tournament in Pigeon Fordge (World Series I think) it had the best players on that team you could think of but they only gathered for one tournament. Some whom played on that team were Cassidy S (powell) Torrie J (powell) Brittney C (powell) Brittney H (Alcoa) Candice I (Central) Amy L (Gibbs) Danielle T (Gibbs) Chere M (Seymour) These are just some of the girls they did not give up a run the whole tournament and as you can see every child played their position but their were some top notch pitchers all together that played a lot of different positions as well. Again it doesnt matter if you play GOLD or not because college ball is alot different than High School VS Travel Teams. When making that move to College you have to have grades, Responsibility, determination and the Heart to make things happen, it has to be in a person to do all these things, not just in how they play......

If they are expected to Top the district tournament how will the Region Tournament play out? Who is going to be their toughest Team to beat during regions ? Heard Alcoa is on a good roll at this time, Gibbs hasn't given up a run during their district games by looking, and Seymour just looks hit or miss. Have you played any of these teams....

How can a Walk off home run be unearned it went over the fence !!! The batter was a Freshman and her name was Emily the score was 3-2 as listed and one of the runs was because of a walk by the pitcher not the third baseman, the next runner on was a error on third due to a slap hitter doing what they are suppose to do...

Come On Lets just be honest, During a Baseball game alot more batters do get hit, but it is also called by High School Coaches during a tournament (High School) a Batter on the team my daughter was playing for was up to bat with it being a tight game the batter hit a triple which tied the Ball game When the Assistant Coach came out on the Field from the dugout and yelled at his pitcher Did I not tell you to hit her !!!!! Out of 4 yrs this batter was hit by this pitcher atleast 65% of her at bats against her, the batter that keep getting hit was also a pitcher which never retaliated on this girl because she was afraid of What her own coach would do because her coach had taught them you win by playing a team at 100% a win any other way is only a partial win... One thing is for sure this girls parents were ready to kill someone !!! But it became a Joke of the High School team that if bases are loaded someone will always score and when we played this team they always would take extra padding and jokingly give it to this batter......

I have no cry in this but Riverdale has an awesome team, A great pitcher, great defensive behind her (she does not have to strike everyone out even though she does most of them) and an Offensive that you just can not stop. Good Luck Riverdale I am sure you will be back next year. Great Job Ladies We have seen you all play at many tournaments and really enjoy watching you young ladies and the confidence you have in each other, the whole team always looks like they are having fun and when girls have fun and enjoy it they win ball games.

It is a team thing and at the State Tournament I saw 4 of the Gibbs High School team hit 4 home runs and one grand slam

This should be an awesome game tonight and if both teams keep their heads on for Fridays game and do not lay alot of focus on Tonights game this should be the two teams left in the State Tournament to fight it out in the Final game of the season. Good Luck to both teams again I predict they will meet in the Championship game(s) at the State Tournament. Both teams full of great ladies with wonderful coaches and parents behind them, both teams show alot of class so tonights game will only show how 3-AA has a bunch of classy ladies, coaches and parents enjoying playing the best......Good luck both teams....

Does anyone now the format of this showcase? Will it be all day for everyone? Will it be like the one in the Fall of last year?

This is suppose to be Knoxville Top Teams "prep xtra" so how did our team get on this board

I personally clocked Irwin this passed weekend and she was hitting 67-69 every pitch, Also clocked her at many different innings and her speed never fell. Her movement is awesome and she can throw anyone off. I have seen lots of girls throwing 60-62 in this area, Last fall at a College recruiting camp they had 4 college coaches with four different guns clocking at the same pitches were all these guns were almost everytime the same. Here are some of the girls in the area that were posted of average pitches of 60-61mph. Cheri Monday-Seymour Shelly Fagg-Heritage Daniele Thomas-Gibbs Lauren Varsolanos-Karns So that speed seems to be an average against some of the contenders in the area high schools. Movement means everything and defense is what helps against the average ERA for pitchers. Irwin is all that I would love to see some of the parents just try to hit her without putting out a back from swinging so hard. LOL Good Luck to all teams closing up season to head into District games in Two weeks

Got to watch the Central game where they lost it was an awesome game and they did have Candice In (their ace) she did a great job. Watched Gibbs a little bit they lost in the ITB rule "Gold Division", I seen atleast one bad call in that game at a first base call but i did hear one of their parents say that the bad call was bad but their girls were not hitting like they have been so they did not to their best to win. Powell looked good this weekend they played well winning in the "Silver Bracket" they did lose in their pool play games but they seemed to bounce back well. Halls also played well in their pool play games they lost in ITB in pool play games and they had a pitcher out where their other pitchers did a good job.

Why would you make this kind of ruling, 50% rule stinks and all it does is punishes is the kids that want to play together, I mean most of these kids have been playing together since tball and now TSSAA is telling them no more, we pay them to tell us NO. The way I read it, It will not affect the teams in Georgia and the teams that play high school during the other months, Will this affect them at all? Not really sure just talking to one of the parents last weekend at a tournament and they did not think it would affect them the way it will everyone else.
