In this bracket do the losers switch brackets? If not, then this is true pool play & really not fair to everyone. I have talked to our coach & he said it was supposed to be like what we had in 4AAA where you would switch brackets. I am not a fan of pool play, as you can tell. I would not be even if we were the dominate team. The only teams that play against each other are 1,8,4&5 in one pool & 2,3,6&7 in the other. If you are 4 or 5 you will have to go thru the #1 seed to make state where you may match up well with the #2 seed, but you will never play them. 6 & 7 will have an easier road thru the 2 seed. That does not seem fair to me, lower seeds with easier paths? But that is pool play.

I think this is the way the brackets were in 4AAA.... 1 vs 8 (G1) WG1 vs WG2 (G5) 4 vs 5 (G2) WG5 vs WG6 (G7) WG7 vs WG13, 2nd if nec 2 vs 7 (G3) WG3 vs WG4 (G6) 3 vs 6 (G4) ___________________________________________________________________ LG1 vs LG2 (G8) WG8 vs LG6 (G10) WG10 vs WG11 (G12) LG3 vs LG4 (G9) WG12 vs LG7 (G13) WG9 vs LG5 (G11) See what you all think, pool play limits to just those 4 teams where this allows 2 teams that may get hot out of the same pool to both make it. If you have a dominate team, teams may not try their best to avoid the dominate team's pool. Of course we don't have that problem this year, but it could happen in the future.

I have been told that the tourney is supposed to be a true tourney, not pool play, but there will be a coaches meeting next week to make final preparations. 1vs8, 4vs5, @#1 seeds field 2vs7, 3vs6, @ #2 seeds field Seymour beat Science Hill also...Congrats SHS1 2 big wins for the IMAC against the #1 seed from region 1!!!

West beat East tonight, not sure of score. COLOR THE IMAC PURPLE! THIS CLINCHES THE REGULAR SEASON DISTRICT TITLE FOR THE SMOKY BEARS!!!!! FIRST IN SCHOOL HISTORY!!!!!!

This is what I think...anyone else please correct me if I am wrong... A player cannot hit in 2 different spots in the order. The player being DH'ed for can enter the batting order, burning the DH, or the DH can enter the game fielding burning the DH, but he stays in the same spot in the batting order. I have found out this year that you have to wait until after the at bat to question the order. If the order is question while the questioned player is at bat, even after the first pitch to him, the ump will make the right corrections and the correct player will assume the inherited count in that at bat. I originally thought it was after the first pitch to the player.

Sevier Co has Freshman Dillon Cate playing a key role for the Smoky Bears. He has turned into the starting 3rd baseman, and is filling in SS, RF when others are pitching. He has solidified himself in the 5th spot in the order & is hitting right at .400 with 70+ PAs. He has also turned into one of the top pitchers for the Smoky Bears starting the last 2 home district games. He is definitely one to watch in the future!

Does anyone know the tie breakers or list? It looks like there is a possibility of all 4 teams left tying or a better chance of 3 of the 4.

Sevier Co has a makeup Mon May 3 with Jeff Co, then that is it. It has been a very interesting season so far! I don't think you could ask for any more than the top 2 seeds coming down to 4 teams the last week of district play!

The way I see it, we need to sweep the last 3 (2 with Seymour & 1 with Jeff) or at least 2 out of 3 to finish in the top 2. Mon & Tues will decide a lot, but Mo East & West play May 3 & 4 I think. It looks like it is down to 4 teams, Mo West, Seymour, Mo East & Sevier Co. Each team holds their own destiny also as they play against each other. Home field is definitely an advantage the way this year has gone! It also looks like anyone can beat anyone, Cherokee & Cocke Co have both played teams very close at times. It should be a Great first tourney for the New IMAC!

I saw the throw go to the wrong side of the bag & I was looking down the line, tough play for the 3rd baseman that could have been made, but was an errant throw, just my opinion. Also, we have been on the other side of bad calls a lot worse than any in this game with the same ump. I just remember only one call that could really have been questioned, but I remember a few others were questioned that should not have been. Again my opinion. If we had lost, I would have said we gave it away, we were very flat from the start. Since we won, it was a great comeback. Just depends on which team you are for & how you see it. 4 runs down in the 6th. Good Luck to you all Mon & Tues.

Sevier Co vs Jeff Co rained out last night also. Make-up is scheduled for Monday 5/3. Zach Flynn hit his 7 HR Monday against Jeff. Sounds like the same kinda shot Kirkland hit. Neither outfielder for Jeff, left or center, moved. I would estimate 420+ easy with no wind blowing. This ignited our comeback. We were down 5-1 bottom of 6th when this happened, then a rbi 2B by Pope and a 2 rbi game tying 2B off the rightfield wall by Solomon (yes, I am related!!! ) and then Soly taking 3rd on a WP blocked by the catcher and scoring on an errant throw made an exciting 6-5 Smoky bears win to keep us in the hunt. We have Seymour Mon & Tues which will be pivotal for the standings for both of us!

4/19/10 Sevier Co 6 Jeff Co 5

Due to all the mess above between players and previous disipline issues, I have heard that Below was dismissed from the team. Is this true? He was signed with Walters State, right? Wonder what this would do to that?

I have heard that it will be like our old 4AAA format...the pools are correct, but if you lose you swap to the other bracket. Double elimination with a true tourney format. I like this format better than 2 separate pools & there winners automatically qualify.

Yeah, I meant Mo East swept SD & Seymour swept Jeff Co to take drivers seat. It would be nice to keep the district tourney sites close together. I still think the 4 losses prediction earlier is going to be close to winning it all.

Looks like Mo East & Seymour took over the drivers seat by sweeping SD & Jeff Co. No matter how it plays out in the regular season, the tourney is going to be interesting for sure! Every one has a chance! Just depends on who can show up consistently.

4/13 Mo West 12 Sevier Co 1 Everything they hit found a hole. Momma said that there would be days like this! Mo West has at least 2 good pitchers! They are definitely in the mix!

I am wondering when West is going to make up games?!?! We have played 8 district games so far, they have only played 3.

4/6 Sevier Co 7 South Doyle 2 Still looks like the better teams are splitting the series. If one could step up ane sweep another, they would be in the driver's seat.
