  1. I know who ole Dogbreath is, always have. Nobody expects more effort than I have, so I totally understand high expectations. We are cut from the same cloth im sure of it. However when someone starts saying something about one of your kids teams, you take notice a little differently than before. I'm sure Dogbreath meant no harm and no harm was caused, but when its YOUR kid, its different. All in all its all good, I think we want the same things for this team.
  2. I appreciate the kind words, hope you have continued success and good luck in the playoffs.
  3. Just wanna say thank you to all who have called, came by and cared enough to make my son feel better. I appreciate all of you and dont want to single any one out, because im sure i would forget to thank someone and would not want that. Just let me say thank you from the bottom of our hearts and thank you for making an extremely emotional time easier to deal with. You really dont know how many friends you have till something like this happens. Thanks from all of us, and its a priviledge to know you guys. Football is a vehicle to teach kids an organized chaos, but to play and have teammates that care about you really teaches you a lesson in life. God Bless you all.
  4. Thanks I appreciate all the kind words. Hopefully back to full strength soon.
  5. I agree we havent played to our potential every game. I hope we do tommorrow. However, when you have different kids, you are going to have different attitudes, different pain levels, and different players who may or. may not play to the hilt. I agree Ward and Smith are excellent athletes and I am so glad we have them. However I feel that you think for some reason that some of these kids arent tough, maybe not. But you might also agree that the talent varies from kid to kid as well as the toughness. I have never touted my son to be the best , nor will I. There are plenty of parents and people who do that on here enough. All I can say about this is, if your a fan your a fan, thru the glory, thru the pain.Everybody has got an opinion, some are sensible, some not, but that dont matter nor do I care, but when you call out this team , you call all of them out. You can either be with us or against us, really though I would love to have you on our side.
  6. Lord willing, he will be there for senior night, but im sure he will be cheering everyone on. We gotta have this one. I think we can do it.
  7. Doin good Pujo, thanks for asking. He is tough as nails, even practiced a little yesterday. Should be ready for the playoffs. Raring to go.
  8. Feel free to stay home, better yet go on the Cloudland side. I'll be bringing my son who got out of surgery today, feel free to come tell him hes not mentally and physically tough.
  9. Only thing I got to say is Hampton has a lot of heart, lot of soul, lots of tradition. I challenge all players, coaches, and fans alike to remain positive and focus on the positives, the tasks at hand. There is always gossip, false statements and rumors everywhere in life. The only thing you can do is squash it where it starts or take the individuals involved and resolve it. To spread it only makes it stronger. We have a tremendous responsibility as adults to be positive role models for our kids, tearing down somebody on here or on the field is not what I want our kids to be a part of.Our coach is quite capable and is a proven winner. Our kids will always be winners with us regardless of wins or losses. We have seniors on this team that when this season is over, they will never be a part of any other team. Do we really want to ruin this for our kids. My boy has played ball for 12 yrs, and I dont want all this garbage to be what he remembers for the rest of his life. So, having said that, i got nothing else to say other than players give it all you got, coaches, we are behind you, and fans, try to stay positive and lift somebody up instead of tearing them down.
  10. Well here it is, Round 2 of this match. What do you all think is gonna happen? If the dogs get some of their starters back, this could be a good game, if not, it might get ugly. This game will truly prepare the dogs for conference play. Johnson County coming off a big win against East and the dogs coming off a homecoming win against North Greene. I challenge all players to come out and give it all and leave it all on the field. This should be a slobber knocker from the get go. I also challenge all Hampton fans to come out and support the dogs and scream your heads off. Good luck to all and lets keep everyone injury free.
  11. I agree we are gonna have to play every down the whole game and to get tougher. But I also want to say that there are alot more tougher kids out there than 2. Just because you do things right more times than not doesnt mean you are not doing some things wrong. Leadership is a quality that can be admirable, but to be a leader you must set examples, not just run your mouth when things go wrong. Leadership on the field and OFF the field is something that makes a true leader. I also believe that we win as a team and lose as a team. No one person will win or lose by themselves, just like last night the secondary was atrocious, but we could also help by getting some pressure on the qb so he didnt have all night to throw it. Just because you have someone to step up dont mean that you dont have 10 more trying. You cant coach heart and you cant coach toughness, but you can coach consistency and play every down. Whether you get that on Friday or dont, doesnt mean you didnt coach it either. This team is good, and could be great, but until we play as a team, not individuals we wont be successful, and remember when youre reconizing that great play or player, remember that somebody that will never get any credit for it, that probably was busting their butt to open that hole, or hold that block needs to get some credit too.
  12. Ok guys , lets get this started: We have Elizabethton vs. Volunteer, Unaka Vs Chuckey Doak and Cloudland vs.Hayesville, Nc. I say all three Carter county teams come out with a "w" this week. What do you guys think?
  13. Im pretty sure it starts at 7. The bus is leaving at 430, but I think they are starting later because of the heat.
  14. Bulldogs scrimmage South Greene today, Tuesday August 3rd at 6pm at South Greene. Lets see if the dogs come with the intensity of last night's practice.
  15. Hampton vs. Sullivan Central at Central at 6PM on Friday the 14th. Volunteer at Hampton on Thursday May 20th.
  16. Scrimmage today at Sullivan Central. Time is 6:00pm. Should be interesting. Next week we scrimmage Volunteer at Hampton on Thursday.
  17. Classy post! rednecks? on hear? don't you mean here? Anyhow, hope ole tiger, hater, shocker, and yourself have a good time on "hear" making fun of Boyd this week. Let me know how that works out for you okay??
  18. Game time guys, time to represent and take care of business. Don't think our seniors are ready to call it a day yet. Leave it all on the field tonight fellars. Speaking of the field, thanks to Brett, Shane, and Jimmy for the color. You guys are awesome. Go Dawgsssss!!!!!!
  19. I think we have some pretty dang good running backs as well. Got our own 1200 plus yards runner in Adam Taylor. Matter of fact, we got a lot a good players all around. I saw Tellico play and I got to admit, they're pretty dang good. It won't be a picnic, but if the dogs play dogs ball, I think we can do it. Nothing, and I repeat Nothing, is easy at this point. You have to work every play and every down to accomplish what we want.
  20. I do agree that Cloudland will take care of business. By the way, I am wearing my Hampton sweatshirt tonight thanks
  21. I'll take Cosby in a close one....
  22. another thing about hampton is their kicking game has vastly improved last friday the kicker for kickoffs did really well. Has anyone else noticed this... GO DOGS!
  23. Cosby hasn't cried or complained in 4 defeats as much as yall complained after 1 last year. Bragg all you want about tackling 130 pound freshmen d lineman! They were freshmen , they do weigh about 130 , and you did tackle them all night. But pooch kicking the ball isn't against the rules and YOU whined more about that than I ever have about how bad you guys hold. (which is against the rules) I hope Unaka beats yall , it won't happen but it would be funny. When yall get in the playoffs against a good team with officials that wont let your o line put the d line in a sleeper hold all night your gonna get humbled pretty quick. Least we will be in the playoffs.
  24. I think Cosby is hitting their stride now, they win by 3.
  25. Congradulations to Cosby on the win, Herzog is the man, Unaka and Cloudland beware, could be two wins for Cosby.
