  1. Go Rebel! Your having a great year. Good luck in the tournament. Maybe, you will beat Tullahoma this time if your lucky and they stay in 2nd in the district. If Shelbyville beats Columbia, your season is over. Ill be praying for some luck to come your way.
  2. Bballfan I apologize because you did state what was going to happen in 8AAA. The only good team in the district is Lawrence County. Playing Summertown is better financial and athletically than playing some of the AAA teams in the district. LC will win the district easily. They have the MVP on their team. I don't know his name but I watch him play all summer. I wouldn't call the play parity but more like sloppy and inconsistent play. Outside of your player there isn't another college propect in the district that I would take. This is probaly the worst talent that I've seen in a long time. Go Wildcats. Go luck. Please, upset somebody in the region so we can save face.
  3. Well, considering we are talking about the weakest district in AAA basketball. On most night you can just flip a coin and see who wins. The outcome of this district will not be determined until the district tournament is played. None of the teams are very good. They're all about .500 against AAA teams and those wins are against each other. If that is something to brag about. Post play is very weak as is the gaurd play. I don't think winning the regular season will determine the district champion. These teams are separated by about 4 to 6 points, which is 2 or 3 possessions. I'll say 2 because the shooters can shot unless they're completely wide open. In the end I wouldn't be surprised if it comes down between Shelbyville and Columbia, even as bad as Columbia's record is. Outside of those two teams the coaches in the district play half court slow basbetball which works if your in single A but there not. Even Lawrenceburg has 8 victories over A/AA teams, such as Summertown, Moore County, Loretto, Hickman, and Marshall County and they lost to Giles County (AA) and Clarksville Academy(A. None of those teams has the size, speed and talent of the top 4 teams in District 7 teams. Good luck to the winner of District 7. It's anybodies to win.
  4. I hope beating Lincoln County isn't game to get excited about. They have finish last in the district for a while now. This is a game that should even be this close. This is probaly the weakest AAA district in the state of Tennessee. From top to bottom all the teams are .500 and that including beating the A/AA school. Congratulations, Shelbyville for playing all AAA teams to get better in the long term. It is a shame that this team are padding there record beating single A school and patting themselves on the back for it. All of these teams will be out in the first round of the region boys and girls. Maybe, Lawrenceburg girls win one game in the region but after that is doesn't look good for district 8.
  5. The problem with this poll is I don't think you have seen the team play. Ooltewah may be good in Chattanooga but the quality of basketball isn't that good there. They have some size but can't really shoot the basketball. The like to dribble drive but that playing inferior teams. They lack guard play and a perimeter game. Siegel is good not great. There post player doesnt have any stamina. He is foul prone. Im trying to remember if the gaurds could shoot. The McDonald kid is too small and cant really shoot very well and cant see out of the traps. Gaurd play will get them killed if they make it to the state. They are very athletic and would beat Oolteway easily in the substate again if they had to play each other again. Independence plays in a weak district. They probaly wont get out of the region. Not very athletic and slow. Team speed with get them killed. Cant play above the rim. Transition basketball will kill them. Riverdale will probaly finish 3rd in the district or 4th. I dont get to see many Knoxville teams. Ive seen a lot kids from there but I dont know which schools they play for. The top teams are in Memphis. All the talent over the summer was from Memphis and Knoxville. Nashville doesnt have much size. Clarksville is going to be down. Chattanooga all the talent is in AA with Brainerd, Howard, Tyner and Red Bank. Which I dont think Ootlewah could beat.
  6. What is the ref that says he will get at shelbyville? The only point that I was trying to make was people tend not to give enough respect to the other team. The kids play hard to win a game. I don't like to hear people use the excuse that is was the ref all the time. In a one point game there really isnt a loser to me. Both teams were good played hard and one team just happen to be ahead at the expiration of time. The next time it may have a different out come. It is the type of game the players love to play in. I played in many big basketball games. I have never lost because of the refs. The few games that I lost were to team just as good as my team. The one which played better and created the opportunities to win won the game.
  7. When can shelbyville lose a basketball game and it is not because of the officiating. I think people should learn to respect the way the game is called. Most officials don't care who wins the game. Their are there to enforce the rules the best they can. Three officials will see three different things. What one decides to call another want. During the game it just about evens out. Both teams have to play with the same officials, whether they're good or bad. The team that makes the adjustment to how to game is being called benefits. It is not the officials who will call it the way one particular teams wants it to be called. It doesn't matter who the coach of the team is either. All coaches and players of both teams deserve the same treatment. The guidlines for the conduct of coaches is explained by TSSAA and what they want enforced. Always remember to have respect for your opponent. Wilson Central is a good team with a good coach and so is Shelbyville Central. A lose by one point isn't anything to cry about. If you want an excuse please look at the shot selection and turnovers. The success of these teams is not decided by the men and women officiating the game.
  8. whether the players can catch the ball because of injury is not relevant to which team gets the ball. When the whistle sounds to stop play, where the ball is determines who gets the ball. If team A throws the ball and it goes out of bound before the whistle sounds to stop before the injured player is recognized the ball is given to team B. if the whistle sounds due to the injured player and the ball is control by team A then the ball remains with team A.
  9. refs will win the game because they scared of Burkey
  10. As opitimistic as people are in Tullahoma just thinking the girls might win a district game this year or any in the next five years, do not expect it to happen. There is too much parent involvement with the program from elementary school to high school. You cant keep any coach because all anyone cares about is if their kid is playing not about winning. Beating single A school doesnt count for victories. When you are glad to beat weak single A teams the future is not very bright. Start setting the goals higher and work to achieve different results.
