  1. Score is correct, 3-3. It was 3-1 at the half. I did not arrive until halftime but from what I saw and heard from some of my players parents it was a game of two halfs. Bearden owned the first and I woud say Farragut controled most of the play in the second. Farragut scored in the first 10 minutes of the second half. A ball played through to Reviz, I think, the GKer came out and she dribbled around her and shot it high into the goal over the defenders head who had gotten back to cover. The rest of the game Farragut kept possession more with Bearden getting some counter-attacks. Turner had some nice runs but only produced one shot. Porter again nice runs, but no shots. The closest Bearden came to scoring was on a through ball to Howarth that she got to about the same time the Farragut GK arrived. She still almost got it by her. Buzzeo, don't know the spelling, still made a nice save. Anyway, Farragut tied the game with 10-12 minutes in the game on a cross that was headed by the Bearden sweeper into her own goal. It was really unlucky as she was attempting to clear the ball on a header and ducked just a little to much and it skimmed off the top of her head as Canter was coming out. Lots of good action toward the end but it ends a tie. Someone else can speak about the first half.

  3. Note to Greg Ryan, United States Womens Coach...You don't fix what isn't broken!!!! /mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mad.gif" />
  4. Lenoir City 2 Knox Central 1 Lenoir City player, not the goalkeeper, used hands to stop Central goal. LC player got red card, Central missed PK and Central Head Coach had to help calm down LC player because she was so upset she has to miss the next two games due to red...plus go to principles office to explain dismissal from the game. /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
  5. Oh my...I remember the boards that were posted back a few weeks ago. Knox Central 2 Karns 1
  6. CAK won 2-1. Mary scored our second goal within 10 minutes of the start of the game, so CAK lead 2-0 for the entire game until there 5 minutes left and Grace Milner scored. Katie Proud had some awesome runs but couldn't get anything in. It was a very exciting game to watch. That is all the information I have from the CAK vs. Webb. I got it from one of my players parents. Anybody know who scored the first goal for CAK?
  7. I have that info from one of my players fathers. His daughter scored the only goal for McMinn Central.
  8. Farragut 3 Oak Ridge 1 McMinn Central 1 Boyd Buchanan 3 Lenoir City 0 West 0 (Any word on the young lady who got hurt at the end of this game?) Karns 3 Powell 0

  10. THIS IS A COACHING OPINION! I myself have been on both sides of this situation. After lots of discussions with coaches I admire and mentor under this is what I have concluded to work best for MY TEAMS. If you like it then feel free to use it or pass it on. I always start out 11v11 like everyone else. But if we get going good and get up early and I see this can be a blowout and my girls aren't being challenged, I simply play down a player, two or three. I sub quite often as you can imagine as the players are working very hard to transition out of attack to defense and vis versa. The players are still playing the game as it is supposed to be played having to still use their own individual skills plus they MUST use their teammates in combinations, players must make runs off the ball to get into space to maintain possession and keep shape. The other added bonus is it is great fitness for them. In my years of coaching only ONE coach has ever taken offense to it. The others thought it was a great way to still keep my team focused on the game, keep them sharp and get alot of playing time for ALL THE PLAYERS. If you are truely looking to not run the score up then this is one way to do it. In this type of environment you have the conditions every coach looks to create in practice. A team that truley knows it is overmached would much rather see a score at 4/5-0 playing against 7 or 8 players rotateing in and out then a score of 10+ against 11. Again this is from my experience and may not be agreed to by all. I will leave it at that. /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
  11. Hey, can anyone tell me where I can get a Appy State hat. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> Now back to SOCCER SCORES...PLEASE!!! My college football season ended three weeks ago. /mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mad.gif" />
  12. Give the person a break. If he wants to be excited about their team winning a big game then go for it. It is no worse then some of the other post listed. Have you seen the scores post lately? Lot more then scores being posted. If Coach T has NO PROBLEM THEN YOU SHOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM! /mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mad.gif" />

  15. Yep, he is out the next and will pay a fine. Not sure how much $$
  16. If that is the case then they should go back to the old rule, back when I played. Then it was if the injured player was not in immediate danger and away from the play then let play continue till a natural stopage or a 50/50 opportunity arises. Don't take away the natural attack. I think re-starting with an indirect kick gives a great advantage to the team in possession. Or go by the unwritten rule and the team in possession kick it out when you notice the other team has an injured player. Anyway, I am glad Whitey brought this to our attention about the rule change. I don't coach high school, but I bet some others didn't know this either.
  17. Is the Collierville score you have listed the varsity? I have not seen a schedule of all games. The thread before mine did not say if it was either.
  18. After what I saw with Collierville at the Katie Hunter this doesn't surprise me. Some fans will say it is because Bearden traveled all day. Well so did the West TN teams when they came here. Question...Has Houston and Collierville played yet? If so, when and what was the outcome?
  19. Blown call that could have changed the outcome of a game. Luckily it was not on frame as you stated.
  20. I believe that according to Law 8 (Restarts) it is considered a drop ball situation and restart will occur at the spot where the ball was at the moment the whistle blew. Drop Ball Restarts: A drop ball is the residual (catch-all) restart for any situation where the game is stopped and the rules do not specify that a different method (such as a free kick or throw-in) should apply to put ball back into play. In some situations, the rules do specifically call for a drop ball restart, e.g. where the referee has to halt the game while the ball is in play to attend to an injury. I think that is the basics of it.
  21. BigG...alot of people on this message board DON'T get it when you try and give compliments or otherwise.
  22. Yep, that was one I was trying to think of, Courtney Suttles. I don't know the other two. Don't know if this counts, but I did see a thread earlier that mentioned a player that was not playing HS this fall. Jenna Mays / GK she is a freshman but playing volleyball for Powell.
  23. Hey Repete... get facts straight. Two of them play or played for Impact, One doesn't play club ball and the other is from Blount United. So four of seven don't play for KFC. Once again you hide behind a screen name and try to BAIT posters. Next time you see me, if you know who I am, introduce ones self.
