  1. Just returned from the scrimmage. McMinn passing game looked impressive. They hit on a couple deep routes. Defense was about 50/50. made some good plays, gave up a few.
  2. Nooo, say it ain't so! /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />
  3. How's it going Nitro14? I'm alive and kicking! I fully understand the costs involved. My daughters monthly band statement was tough at times on this single parent! I was questioning how kids that didn't have the financial resources were able to participate. I didn't know if money from fundraising was used to assist these kids. I think, I'm not 100% sure, that TSSAA states that a booster club cannot pay for a single kid's fees. It can help the entire team but not a single kid. Correct me if I'm wrong in my interpretation. I didn't know if bands, cheerleaders and /or dance teams fall under this or not.
  4. #1. Don't be calling the kids "scrubs" #2. Uhauls? I figured with you being a highly paid stamplicker, you'd at least mention something about seeing a change of address card. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" /> I guess I was giving you too much credit.
  5. So what about the kids that can't afford thousands a year to participate? Is there any way they get to dance or cheer? None of my kids were involved in either cheer or dance so I'm just asking out of curiosity.
  6. Ok, you may have to pay a couple hundred for football, basketball and baseball camps..etc., and should you get lucky enough to go pro you make millions. You pay out thousands per year for dance / cheerleading. You go cheer for a pro team you make.....$50.00 a game! /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> Sounds like my 401K for the last few months!
  7. I'm sure that we'll be seeing the studs playing both sides of the ball but as fishfearme said it was good to see them NOT HAVE to go both ways. There may not be as big of a gap between the 1's & 2's as years past. Overall the boys looked much more confident and appeared to have crossed the hump from playing not to lose to now playing to win. I know it's spring practice and there's alot of time and hard work between now and the opening kickoff but if Friday's scrimmage is any indication, these kids are going to take Pioneer football another big step forward. Also, a big thanks to the coaches for getting these kids prepared.
  8. Coach Thompson, now that's a name I haven't heard in awhile! I've got a lot of respect for him. He took time out of his schedule and filled in as baseball coach for a short time during my senior year so we could put a team on the field. ....and since we've gone back 21 years, why not go back a few more. I ran into coach Peercy several months ago at Walmart here in McMinnville. He was a little surprised to see a Smith County jacket in Warren Co. Congratulations to Scott on his hiring. He'll do a good job for the program.
  9. Fishfearme, it was good to meet you to. I was going to stick around 'till the rain stopped tonight but the lightening was a different story! I'll bring the stuff up to the field tomorrow.
  10. Nitro, It was good to meet you tonight. Thanks for the hat. I'll return the favor next time I make it up to Smith Co. I've seen you around the field a bunch but didn't know who you were. Thanks for the comments on our website to. We have an incredible QB club that has put in countless hours raising funds and working on the facilities. We recently had an open house / dedication for the new indoor practice facility and had players from as far back as the early 60's as guest speakers. I think WC can do the same thing if more people would get involved. Our QB club has sent out letters to former players and from what I hear, got a lot of support in return. As for the scrimmage tonight, WC looked impressive. I saw quite a bit of aggressiveness out there. Some improvement in technique on both sides of the ball and we'll be in pretty good shape. I think WC may surprise some people this year. GO OWLS & PIONEERS
  11. Unless we have storms? You just had to say it didn't ya? /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  12. What time does the yardsale start and are you accepting clothes donation for it? I also heard a rumor that the youth field was going to be turned over, worked and re-seeded. That would be a really nice upgrade. Nitro, don't forget my hat tomorrow night!
  13. #1 It's closer to 8.5 - 9.0% directed toward you, not your program. Don't put yourself up in double digits yet. #2 Unlike you, I respect our opponents school, coaches, players and fans. #3 I don't post lame, idiotic garbage. (except the 8.5 -9.0% directed toward you /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> ) C'mon posty, you get too bent out of shape over this stuff. Stand up and walk on your hind legs like the rest of us.
  14. Thanks warrior2024. I heard a couple gentlemen from your neck of the woods braggin' on you. I'm not sure if they graduated with you or not but they were in school with you at the same time.
  15. Hmmm......posting slanderous false accusations. Calling out people by name. We're gonna miss you when you're gone! One question for ya there mailbags. How many of your posts on CoachT contain the words SMITH COUNTY? 85 - 90%?
  16. Thanks, I need the blue hat! How are things looking so far? All the kids that I coached in youth league have graduated so I'm in the dark on the upcoming kids.
  17. Westy Motto If the locals can't get it done......watch more tape of seasons past!
  18. Yea, we traded up a few spots for him. We weren't looking for another running back but since he was still available and were still well under the salary cap we thought, "let's pick him up." We may use him as trade bait to fill a few other needs. We did bring him in earlier in the offseason for a private workout and he really impressed us with his speed and footwork. He's definitely going to see playing time early in the season. How much depends on how quick he picks up on our system and philosophy. The preceding message is a lame attempt at being funny and does not reflect upon SCHS or CoachT
  19. Thank you sir! I should be back in town by then. Look for a white hat with SC on the front and come by and introduce yourself.
  20. He was really good at inciting the opposing fans!
  21. Who, where & when will Warren Co. be scrimmaging during spring practice?
  22. Hey warrior2024, you mean you didn't take the PA announcer with you from last season?!? /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  23. 2priceless, you and Wingman need to come on up to the Smith Co. - G-ville game. Forget the hot dogs, get a burger at the QB club concession stand.
  24. Somebody said there was a football thread in here somewhere! /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> Any word on the middle school coaching situation yet?
  25. Hey Stamp Licker, read the article, seriously. Glover, Termite's correct, awesome article. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
