  1. It probably was a bit much. My son was involved. He was removed from the game in the 4th quarter. Him and some of his classmates all wore white tee shirts, and then in black sharpie wrote (blank) Mobuck, each with one of the letter on his tee shirt. Mobuck is the cherokee indian chief's name for those of you who may not know. i'll give you a hint the word rythmed with luck. All the students sat down and only those wearing the tee shirts were standing so you could see them better. Also a large banner with a picture of the hawkins county superbowl trophy was raised up behind them with the words "The Longest Yard" written above it. For those of you who are unaware, Volunteer stopped what would've been a game winning cherokee drive at the one yard line with only seconds left. I understand that my son was removed, and i expected him to be punished for his actions. I was thinking he would be banned from games, probably have to clean the stands after games, and possibly have some in school suspension. However when he went to school the next day, he was informed by the adminastrators that the school board members were at the game, and had recommended they be placed in alternative school for the remainder of the year. I thought this to be way over the top. I mean they're all a bunch of senior boys, they're going to do stuff like this. and in high insight no one was physically harmed. Granted the fact that they're just a buncha senior guys, im not saying they shouldn't have punished. Luckily they got off with just being banned from all Basketball games(home or away). on a lighter note, even me being a parent. It was priceless to see the looks on the cherokee fans faces. They were Extremely mad.
  2. im gonna have to argue with the earlier statement made. though this has nothing to do with the actual game, i think volunteer has the best student section. we always bring a ton of students, home or away. DB has probably the most pitiful away game fan support i've ever seen. Volunteer's student section is, and will be, without most of its patrons after the cherokee game. Many of which are now banned from all the basketball games. Which is a shame.
  3. uh oh Volunteer beat TN High.. Get ready for FloorGeneral22 to get on here and whine and cry about our physical style of play.
  4. formerblazer i have only found one. and it appears to be owned by maryville college maybe? and they charge $10 to listen to it on the computer..can you believe that ?!?!
  5. So now that G-ville is out how long will it be till the selections are announced?
  6. Coming from a Volunteer Fan, Good Luck Sullivan South make us proud in upper east TN
  7. hey our fans may use some choice language or do some questionable things ( but i thought the signs that said "Send the Devils back to H*ll" was pretty funny ) anyway i dare you to find better fans in the 5 rivers.. we blew everyone away..we may not have won every game but we sure do outnumber the other fans.. even outside the conf against TN high we had double what they did.. we even filled the visiter stands at Bell Co Ky. .. there was standing room only. I love our fans.
  8. yes you can use standard metal tipped cleats. ive played there a few times and its just like mo easts turf.. for those of you who havent played on either its nothing like astro-turf.. its like a grassy turf
  9. anyway... QB- Cradic: Vol., guy from west don't know his name though. RB- Barner: G'ville, Barlow: Vol., Golforth: Mo West. WR- Moneymaker: G'ville, Mays: Vol., Watterson: Vol., Bennett: Vol. FB- Tyler Carter: Cherokee., David Mowell: Vol. O-line: Vol. G'Ville and West should all get looks. thats just a few names i thought i'd throw out there for the offensive side of the ball.
  10. how many skills positions can be 1st team all conf. for example how many receivers, runningbacks, etc. Im sure theyre can be multiple WR's and i would think at least 2 RB's. also..exactly how many positions are there to fill O-line QB RB FB WR's then... D-Line LB's DB's then... Athlete?
  11. in a sloppy mess by a field goal.. congrats we'll see who wins cause i bet barner doesnt run free like he did against VHS. i know more about high school football than you have thought about knowing kev /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  12. Sandidge has been looked at by everyone from Ole Miss to Appalachain State to Tusculum and all the local colleges. He very well could play collegiate football. i Know quite a few of the seniors have seen college interest. I heard Cradic and sandidge have both visited Louisville, and they get a million letters a day.i know one of the senior receivers was getting letters from even BAMA and VANDY, and visited Miss State(#12 i believe).. The Falcons center was being looked at as well as several other lineman. DT #90 has visited Virginia Tech. Cradic also has visited Auburn. I know i seen a scout from Southern Virginia Univ. talking to #7,#64,#12,#22,#36,#54 and #90 after a game. How great would it be to see a handful of these seniors go play college ball together. Some of you probably won't believe this post. Probably wouldn't believe that some of those of big schools would look at these boys. But i kid you not, i have my sons letters from a ton of colleges, and about 3 or 4 are D1. Granted maybe they're not SERIOUSLY trying to land any of these kids. But to just get a look from a big time SEC school is an honor. The reason these boys are lucky enough to get these looks is because of Coach Rider and i believe his father. Coach Rider has so many connections on the college level, and of course his father does. They are a great football family. Of course you have to mention Coach Riders nephew Jason Witten, and we've been lucky enough to have his brother Ryan Witten coaching our Wide Receivers and defensive backs. As a proud parent, i would like to say thank to Coach Rider for all he has done for my son and the rest of these falcon seniors. A few years ago none of them would've even got a chance to play college ball. Now the door is wide open to just about everyone of them. Thank you Coach /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> Now as to athlete269 or whatever.. Quit your crying because no matter what you have to live with the fact that Lil ole Volunteer ended the so called power house TN High's season in the first round. If you're a senior..tough you'll have to think about it the rest of your life. If you're an underclassmen, then stop whining and put yourself in position to get a rematch with them next year. If you're out of high school, Get help cause you're extremely immature.
  13. Maryville- 28 Red Bank- 21 either team that wins is basically going to state. In the next round, Sullivan South may keep it a respectable game, but Greeneville would get slaughtered. Then its on to Hillsboro maybe? in the Blue Cross Bowl
  14. This will be a great one.. Greeneville has some young guns, and Volunteer has some seniors who have played A LOT of varsity snaps in their day. To me this game is too even to call. I think the team that has the least amount of penalty yards/turnovers wins. Basically in my opinion these teams are pretty even. What Volunteer lacks in sheer talent, they make up for in experience. Whoever does the little things right, wins this one. Regardless this will be a close one.
  15. Because we pretty much threw the ball uncontested, for a good portion of the night. TN high may have had some answers for the run but definitely not the pass.
  16. Great Post Stokomo /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  17. Don't know much about it. Hoping Cherokee comes in....DEAD LAST /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Go Falcons /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> ...(even though we're in the big nine)
  18. FanoFall you sir, are an idiot. You actually want people to believe that, but without revealing their names. I know for a fact Whitt has never said that crap. I DO, however, know that you now could very well get yourself into some hot water. I'm sure you've read the forum and seen all of the lawsuit stuff. You are specifically citing references, and claiming to have directly heard these Accusations on coach whitt. IF you are going to make these direct quotes you received from former volunteer players public, then you better be 100% sure they're true. Also, these so-called former players could very have not been on good terms with Coach Whitt, and saw this as an opportunity to get him back. If thats the case then they will be in serious trouble, as could you for taking their false information and making it public. My greatest suggestion to both you, and FloorGeneral22, is to stop posting information you have no way of ever proving or knowing is true about Coach Whitt. If you think I'm just spinning you're wheels, and have no legal experience, think again. If you're around any of the judicial sites, usually Kingsport, Greeneville, or Rogersille, then you very well may know me. Good Luck on guessing /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  19. its ok Ed..BearSlayer 1. Volunteer Sent tn high home till next year 2. Ed's right, theres a boys 3A,4A, and 5A football thread. go there to talk about how you WISH tn high could've took it to VHS..
  20. Ohh I think Split pretty much said it all. Listen i played Volunteer Basketball my freshman and sophomore years..i decided to focus only on football and baseball. So, I, of all people would have no problem telling the real truth about all of this.... and it is..... Coach Whitt has never told a player to intentionally hurt another player..no matter the situation..FloorGeneral22 sounds like someone who either played or had a child that played against Volunteer and got it taken to you..Whining gets you no where in life.. If this is such a problem then why hasnt it been addressed and brought to the Athletic Director's attention.. My advice- Quit whining about Volunteer's Team and unless your team is DB or the hill, id start focusing on ur team.
  21. Volunteer All the way...with shane= VHS-28 CHS-14...without= VHS-21 CHS-14
  22. yeah it was 38-14 and ironically enough i believe it was only about 3 or 4 plays between the two injuries. I personally think these two seniors will not let these injuries stand in the way of them taking it out on Cherokee
