  1. Well, it's feels like South Pittsburgh weather mixed with the rain in Forest Gump. I'll stay tuned for the scores tomorrow morning (about 2 A.M. my time). I'm headed to London manana. I'll pick you up a Hard Rock shirt. Go Tigers! Say hey to the youngins for me. I'll be back in town for 3rd season game. I hope we're sittin' with 2-0--worried about Carthage though. Reporting from the Motha Country---BJW
  2. Go Tigers WHOOOOOOO! Wish I could be there...I'll wear my blue in white...Cherio CHaps.
  3. I guess it's a good thing that Smith is physical--he saved the Friendship game with a big hit. I wonder if the Gmen will decide to use to QBs this week. Two is better than one. I watched SP back up throw the ball last year. It looked like he would be the starter. I was suprised when the QB with the smaller arm entered the game. What's up with that?
  4. Has anyone seen the Randall Cobb video on Unapproved Website? Now..he is without a doubt the best athlete Tennessee has right now--Amazing. Well, what defense best suits a high octane team like SP? My gut tells me that GV will prepare to stop the run, but I know SP, after watching a few of our game tapes, must be looking to pass.
  5. Since the cards seem to be stacked against the Tigers, I thought our region four brothers could help us plot the mighty pirates' downfall--together. In short, if you were preparing for SP this week, how would you take back the odds? I hope this thread is both entertaining, yet informative. LET's GO BIG BLUE!
  6. How good is SP's secondary? I think this may be a game where Gville will try to air out the pig skin. I wish I could see some game film...post it on Youtube or something.
  7. Well stated. I hope SP plans to run straight up the middle. We'll see how tough their pride is this year. Seems to me they need a wake up call. It should be a nail biter. I sure want my money's worth. Seven dollars + a tank of gas+food=near a 100 bucks.
  8. Better bring a pot of hot coffee and some thermals. It's going to be a cold and windy night. Nevertheless, with the excitement of scoring unanswered touchdowns all night long, tomorrow night should leave the home team's fans with a warm and fuzzy feeling
  9. Hubris! The Commanders are no walk in the park, and I know SP's coaches have not overlooked the green vests. Does anyone have anything constructive to say? Let's talk football. What do you think SP's offense will run Friday night? How will the Commanders plan to stop this high powered team?
  10. How do you slow down a high powered player or offense? Run the ball, run the ball, and run the ball. Bring on the power I Gville. I would love to see Simms running the ball. I guess I shouln't get my hopes up.
  11. I wish Coach Dillard would be more aggresive on first down, or at the least throw some screens. I have not seen many of them this year.
  12. His number evades me at the moment, but FCS has an anchor of a lineman on their team. At one point in the GVille game, Simms (6 "1" 215) and our center had to muster every ounce of their muscles to retain him from busting through the 'O line. Good luck with him...boy he's big.
  13. I traveled the long road to S. Pitt last year's Gville matchup, and I was unimpressed with S. Pitt's leadership from the players. How have they responded to adversity this year? It appeared to me that once Gville had the lead, S. Pitt's mojo was gone. As I am constantly reminded, talent is not enough to win games anymore (for if that were true, there would be no reason why UT has not won 4 national championships)--Coaches must have an effective game plan to exploit their players' talents. Overall, TC's coach is stellar to say the least; I hope he brings his A game because he's going to need it.
  14. I sure would like to see him suit up and do it again--poor fella. Who knows? Alexandry could have made him tough.
  15. Hey Croz, I wonder how number 10 from Celina is doing this year? I hope he has found a way to erase his memory from last year's #49 freight train.
  16. It appears passive coaching has permeated the minds of the big orange and white in Knoxville; I'm curious...who are the most aggressive coaches in Division 1A football?
  17. What happened to being realistic? I hope Watertown borrow's UT's game plan for last weeks Alabama game. You know, they could really learn something from old Phillip Fulmer--all you have to do is have a bunch a talent to win football games.
  18. Forgive me if my memory is faulty, but I am almost certain every defense playing Gvile this season has placed at least 8 men in the box while intentionally leaving gaping holes in the middle of field. Ultimately, I think the Power I with good down blocking creates a huge advantage for the Gville tailbacks who have great feet like Davis and Smith. What happens when linebackers are blocked by either linemen or a big fullback? I think it all spells a long night for the other team.
  19. Doesn't Arnold play offensive tackle? It may be a little too early to start him back into both sides of the ball, but I think later on down the road we should start seriously considering the strength of the power I. Put Smith or Davis in the flat , and put Sims running a 10 yard crossing route or quick fly--above all, pound the ball inside all night long.
  20. I hope the light suddenly shines for GV offense. I cannot wait to see the day when Malone hands off to Sims--watch out--choo choo! Forget the mystery of new wrinkles emerging; I say we line up our boys in the power I formation. and run the ball. I can only imagine GV having a true power I: Malone (QB)+ Sims (FB-give him the ball too)= Smith (tailback #1)+ (Davis tailback#2). I'll take 4 yards a carry all night long. What do you think? Would this formation reasonably work?
  21. If you were the coach the Tigers, how would you prepare them for this game, and what elements do you think are missing from the G'ville playbook?
  22. After seeing the backup's ability to play at QB, Why do we not exploit Smith at other positions--even at split back. Davis/Smith, or line him at slot. I totally agree.
  23. In the end, my intention to shake things up a bit, and I wanted some a good analysis from some loyal SC fans. Anyway, thanks for ruffling my feathers SC fans.
  24. After all of that confidence, it sounds like SC fans continue to doubt exceptional talent. In fact, after all, rushing for 3 touch downs with a 125 yards of rushing in less than 10 carries can only be considered substandard. In fact, I hope the fighting owls subscribe to the same logic as this one SPECIAL analyst from the fighting owls. If you really want to challenge my post, then what would you do if you were a GV coach, rather than attacking me. By the way, it's the first broken rule in a debate. It's called ad hominem. Look it up.
