Clay County just outplayed us. We didn't play as well as before, regardless of who was in. When you don't play well and have injuries and play a team that was hungry, you get beat. This loss will build character and give opportunities for players to get better and be ready to step up. Clay Co. did want it more. The worst thing that could have happened to us was to jump out 10-0. We have to learn to finish.

Monterey is pretty banged up. Need some boys to step up. This is their opportunity to shine.

Whats wrong with the offense? A former colleague of mine is the defensive coordinator down there. I havent talked with him since spring, but it looks as though the defense is playing pretty well holding a team to 14. Is the offense just not clicking, is it penalties, turnovers? Whats the deal? Seasons young 0-2 doesnt mean 0-10. Good luck Wartburg All I have to go on is the game with Monterey. They had 9 turnovers and bogged down in the red zone. Monterey played pretty bad and still won.

I believe if Wartburg was a little better on offence, they would be tough. Midway is pretty good. Losing in the first game can set the tone for the rest of the season. That's what happened to Monterey last year. It's hard to get up, when you start out 0-2. Been there, got the tshirt.

Congrats to Wutwul. Must not have been that much of a passing attack. I guess them slow big boys got the job done.

Good luck to the Monterey Wildcats. They played well Friday against our in-county rival. Should be a goodun with Clay Co. Big game for both teams.

So if you're 21 better than Oakdale, that means you and RBS will be a close game?

Well, I guess it was bound to happen, and I know how Oakdale feels.

Hats off to RBS on an impressive win, Monterey on a tough win against Wartburg, and Jackson County on a big win against Houston Co. These are 3 teams picked in the lower half of the region. Should be a fight for the playoffs to the end. It's football time!

You were pretty close Jacket Fan. We scored on the first play from scrimmage and I think we let up a little. Wartburg was in it to the last play. They wanted it bad.

1-0 congrats to the Cats. It wasn't pretty but a W is a W. Kudos to Wartburg. They are really good at forcing turnovers. The Cats came through down the stretch though. It rained hard in the second half and it got kinda sloppy, but we'll take it.

They are somewhat out of the equation, but we still play them since they are in our region.

Pulling for RBS in this one. Sounds like Oakdale got a good coach.

Jackson Co. looked really good at the Jamboree. QB has good aim and timing. The Blue Devils should be tough this year.

Will they field a better team? This is purely speculation on my part, but from what I've seen to this point, they will field a better team the next 3 years. We shall see.

If the Cats play like they practiced last night they will be fine. That Jamboree fiasco might have been good for us.
