  1. Fview 15yd pass for TD 20-13 PAT blocked 10:30 4th
  2. Camden scores on Halfback pass at 3:15 in 3rdQ. PAT blocked 14-13
  3. Camden scores w/ 5:00 left in 3rd after Fview fumble. 14-7
  4. Anybody want a Halftime score??????????? Fairview 14 Camden 0 I didn't think Fview was going to be doing this well, knew it would be close, but Wow! listening online, crowd is quieter than I've ever heard them. Still a game though. Games are often won at Halftime, Great coaches on both sides should have their boys ready.
  5. enough of this bickering crap... howbout them Lions and Jackets huh???? How is the field going to hold up tonight? I know 1st hand that the camden surface is really good, but was there much rain down there? was it enough to make the turnover factor more of a factor?
  6. Strength of sechedule means nothing without Success playing that schedule. Waverly drops below Fairview in that category..... This will all de settled next season as Wavo and Fview will be aligned playing in the same region /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> Hope practice has been good for both teams this week. It's going to be a great game decided, as i said previously in this thread, by turnovers and Line play on both sides.
  7. Barely beat MtP....who else had that problem???? Oh yeah, Lewis Co. squeaked a win agaist MtP. does that deminish their record? MtP is tough ask LC. DCA is 3-7 due to their schedule, they are preparing for their transition to DII next year and played some tough non-conference games. DCA would be competing for 2nd place in 7AA. IMO. Fairview will attempt to give Camden problems with one word....Veer. Coach Ward and staff were at Fairview's last reg season game versus Loretto. They should have a pretty good handle on what Fairview trys to do Offensively. and they'll have a pretty good idea what they'll do defensively, Fairview hasn't changed much on D since last year. Camden may win but they will not roll by any stretch. I forsee an issue of whichever team wins this hard hitting match up is going to be physically exhausted and have to lick wounds fast. because the 2nd rond vs. CPA (sorry HC, tough draw) is around the next bend
  8. Papatiger-------------There is being a diehard fan of your team...and then there is being unrealistic. Though I realize that is your opinion, entitled as you are, it diminishes your credibility when you spout blindly of how much better your team is than other. based on nothing more than opinion of course. I think Fairview and Waverly would be a good game for sure, having only seen stats and compared schedules and like opponents I would say Fairview would be favored though (just looking at the facts). This would have to be settled by StatPack, LCHSpantherfan, ddaddy.....a non-biased observer who has seen both teams.
  9. really a moot argument but...I saw the size and physicality out of 2 DLs (64 was a monster) and 2 LBs (32 would be first round draft pick for my dodgeball team, great scrapes downhill to poa) the rest of 'em were really soft. They did miss Mann greatly, like they didn't know how to play w/o him.
  10. Late night at church praying for the Dawgs... /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> Or They might just see the writing on the wall. It's coming.
  11. Thank you gentleman for that fantastic news!!! I'll be at the game after all. Not sure the comparison of Fairview and Northside is warranted...maybe a comparison of their linebacker corps would be acceptable. but Northside's Offense is horrific, Fairview can actually play some O.
  12. Turnovers and Line play on both side of the ball will be the deciding factors plan and simple. It will be the best first round game in the Midwest Quad for sure. This is a great game in the making! I was so excited to see the brackets aligning this first-round rematch of '07. (not that I wouldn't have been excited to get Stew Co.) Can't be there unfortunately...are Camden's games broadcast on radio, perhaps webcast? thats probably too much to ask, huh? Prediction----Coach Whitfield goes for two as time expires rather than take the gimme XPT. Jackets 15-Lions 14 /sleep.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="-_-" border="0" alt="sleep.gif" />
  13. Page, Hickman, Lewis. But for the lack of a credible kicking game Hickman score would have been different lost 7-6 missed XPT and (2) 30yd FGs. Fairview likes their chances against Camden this year. Last year was a great Defensive game 7-0 at half ended 14-0. last years offense just took forever to get the veer going throughout the season. This year has seen much improved success with bruising backs Cassidy, Payne, Johnson, and Mohrman. It'll be a slug fest. I love the rivalry that might be brewing between the two schools. hopefully we can be #1 and #2 in the quads from now on though /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> I can tell you first hand Fairview from the top down respects the job Coach Ward does and the program he has built in Camden. Nothing but Respect for the Lions. Tell you what, not seeing #40 in the middle this year will be key. That kid was a stud (did he go to Bethel?).
  14. ddaddy We have a fundamental disagreement that will not be solved until weeks 2 and 3 of the playoffs then. Having seen all of the teams play this season that are in question, I simply cannot say that GP/CPA don't belong in the top 5. Based on This year, not years past, not based on any envy I have over the private schools(having coached against them it's more like a deep resentment). I know they can be beat, just as I believe Alcoa can be kept from a fifth consecutive title this year. I recall a very good GP team in '05 getting beat 49-46 by East Robertson(Tico) during the regular season then making it to the boro to get stomped by Alcoa. I'm not giving undue credit. Based on occurences from THIS season alone do I base my opinions.
  15. I think a 5A 2-8 team is at worst an 8-2 2A team personally (strictly IMO based on their ability to draw from a larger athlete pool). Besides that I started on this thread simply to point out an opinion that I thought GP/CPA based on watching each team this season were better than any of the schools in the top 10 sans the top 2. And We are in agreement then, a red letter day for a Panther and Jacket fan....listen for trumpets them hit the deck
  16. defensive much???? can't a guy have an opinion? I think Fairview would no doubt be 3-7 with that schedule(4-6 at best) but Fairview is not in the top 10 in the state, thus not warranting mention in this conversation of the deferences between GP and LC I'm going to hold tight with my call on this one. LC beating PJP is a stretch, a long one. and I think that Coffee Co. would be a tough test, could go to LC in a squeaker. I would like to know the in-and-outs of the FRA game, which seems to be the only blemish on their record (much like the Lewis near miss vs. Mt. Pleasant) even still you've proven my point for me. You've said that Lewis Co. would have the same record as Goodpasture or worse with the same schedule. Thus you think GP and Lewis county should be tied at #3 in the top 10, right????????
  17. it simple really...look at Goodpasture's schedule. I would venture, being the realist that I am, that the Panthers would be ooh...4-5 with the same schedule, not 9-0. Lewis county is Great, please do not misunderstand. They DO belong in the top 5. and I think Camden is a Great team, though I think LC is much better this year. I've said before in other posts that I want nothing more than to see the privates get their rightful beat down from the county boys, but is naive not to look at strength of schedule.
  18. This is the sorriest one I've seen yet???? Where are CPA-Goodpasture? those two teams are better than #3-#whatever. AND Stewart Co. still receiving votes? what a joke. simply coacht fodder useful for nothing more.
  19. ddaddy, I'm with you! and I am rooting for any public school against the likes of the Alphabets. I am at my core a realist. and you are correct that if there was a year to do it this would be it. Camden down(weither they think so or not)-Huntingdon down-GP down-CPA down, this presents a prime opportunity for a West TN Public school (LC, Milan) to meet up with the semi-public school, Alcoa, in the 'boro. I Sencerely hope it happens. I will be the first to say I am jealous of the program that Coach Sharp has developed in Howenwald. It should be modeled after by schools like Fairview who have talent in the hallways every year that goes untapped because of a disconnect between MS and HS, and a lack of community support. Programs like LC continue to thrive (i.e. 17 out of 18 region championships, i think) while others have to hope for a few good years in a row then start the rebuilding again....but like a said I'm a realist.
  20. This was not meant to be a hit on the Panthers by a rival fan...simply, a statment of opinion based on fact and proven history. Don't forget that Fairview struggled in The Alphabet division for a couple of years, indeed, it made them stronger. We know all about GP/CPA I see LC as being very strong, very fast, and very well-coached. All-around a great football team. (Much like Camden's team last year, Goodpasture dominated in the second round) but you can't underestimate the multiplier that the privates have, they are playing with a stacked deck. I forsee the panthers cruising through Wavo, but the buck will stop in the next round with whomever they face, CPA/GP. just my opinion based on recent history.
  21. easy win for LC..... Playoffs = different story. and unless one of two things happen (Howenwald picks up and moves itself 100 miles west, or CPA/GP move to DII) if will continue to be two and out for the Panthers(or anyone else) trying to get through the Midwest Quadrant. People have been hinting that this year might be the year to get by the Privates because they are down. I say probably not, look at the competition they play. and it really serves them right that the only non-conference team that will schedule them are 5A and DII. (a little collusion among small schools to keep them playing up)
  22. I was just trying to check the score but....You've got to be kidding me???? "Coach why did you leave in your starters the whole game??" what kind of pathetic jab is that...Coaches make decisions, and Football is a violent game. Kid could of got hurt participating in the Tug-o-War during homecoming and you'd probably say "Coach should of outlawed those guys from taking part" Wake up..It's football. and I don't care how bad my kids' getting beat I want him on the field to learn this lesson: "A Man finishes what He starts.' You were probably out with an ingrown toenail that week during your playing days and missed that lesson.
  23. how's the weather in Middle TN? has it been soaking the field in prepation for the annual Fairview-Harpeth MudBowl? at least Fairview's field has had many weeks off (4) so that should help it absorb a little more.
  24. I'll take a shot at it. I think CPA/GoodP are way underrated (though down from previous years) Their records would be different if they could find 2A/3A schools to play them non-conference. and having seen Lewis and Camden this season in person, the edge goes to Lewis 1. Alcoa 2. Milan 3. GoodP 4. CPA 5. Boyd 6. Tyner 7. Lewis County 8. USJ 9. Camden 10. Gatlinburg - Pittman And I definitly agree that whoever keeps putting Stewart Co. in the top 10 after they schedule such non-con cherries to boost their record and a shalackin from Waverly this season.....madness I say.
  25. That might make sense...however, a bad prediction.
