  1. last years match was a barn burner with a Fview goalline stand deciding the contest played on an absolutely horid Harpeth field after the monsoon season came through. Harpeth had success against the defensive secondary with the corners falling down numerous times attempting to run with the Horkins kid. That could be an issue again this year in the rain. I like Fview chances running the ball down hill. and their defense is solid when they aren't playing against the WingT. No doubt Harpeth will play harder than they have all season, I'm sure Coach Loope has informed his players that their playoffs have already begun. And its Homecoming in Fview, hopefully the jackets can stay away from the distractions and fortunately its against the Indians, Fview never has any problem getting up for Harpeth. Bottomline: The rain doesn't change the expected outcome Fview 34 Harpeth 14
  2. I understand that these are merely projections, however, region 3 fairview must be a typo? Are you intending on another team from region 3 to get in with 6 wins? Fairview is region 6, and by most accounts they are projected to finish with 7 wins and have the #3 seed. with Harpeth and Lortetto remaining on their scedule they are all but assured a playoff spot as the auto or wild card, just have to win one (Loretto 0-8). Further, Harpeth has Fairview and Sycamore left on their schedule. High probability that they miss a wild card spot all together. This wild card mystery has more turns than an Agatha Christy story. You are correct though, the playoff picture is by no means locked and ready to rock! high school football at its best!
  3. I think you have it! It's pretty simple really. Look at history versus the talent stacked ABCs, unless you have a balanced attack they can and will stuff the run leaving you with no offensive output. especially if you have to score quickly when behind. Oh NO!!! Here comes the Jet Sweep on 2nd down in 2-minute offense. and maybe we'll see the Sally on 3rd and perhaps a Waggle on 4th???
  4. Teams like Lewis co. will continue to have problems getting to the boro due to lack of balance on offense. Don't get me wrong, Lewis will run the wing-T down your throat but a team with excessive talent (i.e. Alcoa, GP, CPA, DCA) can stack the box and game plan shutting it down. Nowadays, You have to have a balanced offensive attack if you want to compete for Gold Balls. If you go 10-0 averaging 350 rushing yards a game, and finally run into a team that holds you under 100. You have to be able to stretch the field and score in a variety of ways.
  5. I think he means Loretto. and yes they will probably roll. There is an outside chance that they won't get in but the stars have to align in richlands favor and one of the 5-5 wild card hopefuls have to sacrifice a goat at the 50-yard line after they win on friday. Doubt that'll happen, Fairview goes in as a 6-7 seed depending on how many 1 seeds are in their quadrant. Play Hard Fview. Nothing is for certain. Earn it
  6. And why did App State even bother dressing out at the Big House right? Or those rascally Cardinal, Harbaugh should've kept them in the Locker room versus the Trojans. That is why Football is the GREATEST sport known! Even when it seems like everybody is playing for 2nd place, you still prepare. You line up your best 11 they line up theirs and you PLAY THE GAME!!!
  7. True statements, however, I think Harpeth's turnovers last week were brought on by pressure from the Richland D. QB forced a lot of throws while being chased. Fairview brings a ton of pressure! I foresee the same problem for the indians this week, unless the QB can be taught to trust his legs because he's pretty quick. Those bad balls changed the game for sure, a soph QB taking his lumps and learning. And what about the Fview kicker a 42 and 43 yarder! I've got to take the Jacket D and STs in this one F38 - H10
  8. yes, it's been moved to Thursday.
  9. So fairview has Lewis on the ropes 7-7 at half. Is down 13-7 half way through the 4th. and were driving on O until LC took an interception to the 3. And you think that Fview will get run all over by everybody left to include an abismal Loretto team? I'm not sure that you understand the game if you make obsurd revelations like that. Now Harpeth and Richland are a different story. They'll be tough games. But the players and coaches of LC know they played a very tough Fview team. I'd venture to say that if you polled the LC coaches and players for that matter(having played all three teams) They would pick Fairview to have the 3rd seed by the time playoffs roll around.
  10. It will be a battle for senior night at Fairview. The Offense is finally clicking. The defense continues to put the O in position to make stuff happen. Unless Richland has plans to spread out the Fview D I think Fairview's front 8 will stonewall the Power I attack. This is getting down to crunchtime for a playoff spot. 3 teams want it one gets it and two are left out in the cold. Fairview will be hard to beat after the lumps they took over the first 6 games. Don't let their record fool you.
  11. fview has EH JV scheduled for next monday the 8th???? Are you sure about it being tonight? maybe Caoch Jones and Coach Whitefield need to clarify something.
  12. Battle for the first win for each squad. Looks to be exciting for the first ever clash between Fview and EH. and I'm sure this will become a huge rivalry in the years to come. It'll be Homecoming for Fview, should be a great atmosphere. After another mistake ridden game in which they were not overmatched, they simply failed to execute, the Jackets are hungry for a playoff push. There is no other option but to win out. After their first 6 opponents the last four probably look like a breath of fresh air. They better realize that Coach Jones will have EH ready for upset. As long as the Jacket D continues to Knock heads good things will happen. hopefully sooner rather than later.
  13. I think it has been a mixture of a few things. Mass quantities of turnovers have casued the three losses that were given away. The loss to HC was due to Fairview seriouly underestimating their opponents, and losing 2 senior leaders to injuries in the 2nd qtr. I also see a huge lack of senior leadership, they've gotten used to having a power back in the likes of Cassidy, Degalliford, Martin, Cothran to shoulder the burden and carry the ball 30 times a game. They don't have that now and the system they are running would be great if they realize they all have to win their personal battle. rather than blocking for a 2 counts and watching to see if their allstar back can make them look good. I think they'll turn it around, hopefully sooner rather then later. They can compete with anybody if they don't give up the ball every time they get on a roll. Bottom line is Fairview is the best 0-4 team in the midstate they just haven't realized it yet. Too bad their first 6 games are the roughest first 6 they've had in a long time. They're in a pool of quicksand right now and they need some seniors to throw a rope out there and pull the rest of the team out of the muck and the mire. It'll happen, count on it.
  14. Does that 63 total yards include the 154 yards recieving by Johnson and the 61 return yards by Dowdy? oh, and Dowdy did have 71 rushing yards. I'm not sure that your stats are correct, now I could be wrong, but on this topic I'm usually not. I don't know which paper these numbers were reported to but I believe you should look elsewhere for your stats info.
  15. You mean put that QB back there where he can make even worse decisions. He's thrown 8 INTs in three games. The offense just needs to screw down and believe that they can run the veer! However, It doesn't work when your OL won't take a flat step and drive down. And what would happen if they started the SG spread. QB running for his life and throwing more balls up for grabs. Fact is, Fview looked good on their first two drives then after a little adversity and their on-the-field leader going out concussed, they shut down. Give Hickman all the credit. They hit Fview in the mouth! and Fview didn't respond they earned that loss. You are right that Fview is in for a long season if they don't find spark, but I don't think it requires changing the system. It requires a little heart in the face of adversity and everybody pulling the rope in the same direction (which includes parents and fans) They'll right the ship, question is will it be sooner or later.
  16. I'm not sure who your sources are? but I'd check them again. Fview is faster than they have been in recent memory. They flat get to the ball. In all honesty you defense a great player like Marco by NOT being fast, fast will get you cutback on. Look for Fview to slow their D down and contain MtP rather effeciently. I'm interested to see how the MtP players compare Lewis and Fview that will be a telling note of what to expect in the region 6-2a title game Week 4
  17. Wow, 13 pts! Guess you have to represent your team. But Fview only gave up 7 pts. to Page and that was a 74 pass. They held Page under 50 yards on the ground. One thing was going right for Fview agianst Page, Their Defense swarms the ball and tackles very well. This will translate well against Dailey and his Tigers.
  18. KS brings up a good point. Fview has seen athletes like Marco before (i.e. Tico @ East Rob.) in their old region and stopped them cold. and the Ezell team that beat MtP last year got beat the next week by Fview 27-0. Fview's offense looked sluggish last friday against Page. They came out Saturday ready but missed a PAT and gave up a big play on D. Fview dominated every stat category other than passing yards. But the result is what happens when you win 2 out of 4 qtrs. They'll put 4 solid qtrs together eventually,(hopefully sooner then later) and when that happens look out. And I think we should give a little more credit to Page, Daniels had his boys ready to play. And they have quite a few weapons. They'll challenge for a playoff spot this season IMO.
  19. Page won it 14-13. Fairview played like they were lost on friday night but came out today with three picks and a recovered fumble and put up 13 pts(missed PAT that bit them in the end). They were clicking but ended up giving up a big play(75 yd pass). The FB went for 140 yds on 20 carries. Page has some athletes and they are running a style that suits them well, and will only be better when Neel gets back to take the snaps. Fview won 2 qtrs of the 4. Too little to late. They'll take their medicine, learn, and return a lot of needed depth this next week off injuries.
  20. I heard one starter is being held out for team rules violations. And we have a few key back-ups nursing injuries. I'm almost positive that they have 6-7 kids going both ways. The heat will not be as big a factor for Fairview as it might be for other schools in Middle TN. Fortunately Williamson Co. Schools continued practicing outside when other schools were taking days in the gym. They modified practice with lots of h2o to get used to the heat. Can't wait for Friday!
  21. What's the outlook for this Matchup??? Coach Daniels will definitly have his kids ready to play, but word is his QB will be held out another week or so. Fairview seems to have started the season strong with two solid scrimmages. What does anybody else think? I'm partial but I say FHS 35 - PHS 21
  22. Couldn't make it to the scrimmage. Anyone see it or know of the results???? Thanks in advance.
