  4. The Thursday in question was the Miss Basketball Award banquet. Kristin Archie was a finalist. Good luck to Ann at UTK and wish her continued success with her volleyball. I'm still haven't heard anything on what Tish's plans are. I wish her the best as well. [Edited by BehindTheArc on 4-29-03 4:39P]
  5. Way to go Lady IRISH ! I knew you could do it ! This makes 6 years in a row FRHS has won the regional Tournament. By the way, I don't see any post by: macksdaddy oletimes44 defygravity [Edited by BehindTheArc on 3-1-03 10:14P]
  6. Has the All Region team been announced? If so, who was on it?
  7. Does anyone know or have the bracket for the Middle II regional tournament?
  8. Thanks CoachT. Again, I wasn't trying to be disrespectful by any means. I now understand your situation and respect your response. In thinking about it myself, I think it would be hard for anyone to rank the 10 top teams in Division II. Perhaps a top 5 ranking with a few honorable mention may be more in line. Again, I thank you for your response. This is a wonderful web site, and I think Tennessee high school sports fans are blessed to have you and your staff.
  9. CoachT, please explain. Why are the Division II teams not ranked ? On 1-19-03 you said you would have the DII rankings later that week ........ never happened. This time you said there were top 10 rankings "All Classifications" ..... again NO DII. I thought this was a web sight for all of Tennessee High School Sports. I'm not trying to be ugly, just don't understand. [Edited by BehindTheArc on 2-9-03 7:08P]
  10. Easy there oletimes44. I didn't see anything in hoopfan's post that said anything about using HH gym as an excuse for why they lost. You on the other hand have made the excuse to why you lost to Ryan 2 years ago. Is what hoopfan said true about HH not beating Ryan except for when they played them at home? 11. Father Ryan beat BA last night 63 - 35. The Lady Irish were up by 30+ points with about 5 minutes left in the 4th period and emptied their bench at that time. FRHS is getting better play from their first year senior starters in Kristin Hample and Ann Mullins. They should continue to improve and will hopfully peak at the right time (tournament time). Go Irish! Hats off to a well coached BA team as well. They play hard and play to win. I think that they will be a very good team next year and the year's to come. They are very young, but gaining a lot of experience this year. Best of luck to the BA ladies (except when you play FRHS!).
  12. Was told that Ryan won by about 20 points. Do not know the score though. Hope this is of some help!
  13. BNAHOOPS, It is true that there were 2 intentional fouls called in this game, but I'm not really sure it has anything to do with having class or a lack of. In many games, the team that is trailing is forced to foul to conserve clock time (I assume that you do know that the clock will stop when a foul is called). Players are instructed to go for the ball and if they do not get the turnover to foul as soon as possible. There are times that a defensive player will not be in the best position to create a turnover and in the heat of the moment will foul and not be going for the ball. The first of these intentional fouls was after a missed shot with the HH player getting the rebound. The FRHS player went after the ball and fought for it very aggressively. The official called her for an intentional foul. The second one was the result of the the FRHS player not being in position to create the needed turnover and in an attempt to foul, pushed the HH player from behind. Both calls were correct in my opinion. Again, as far as having class or a lack of, a HH player was over heard calling one of the FRHS players the "B" word after the game. Many things are said and done in intense competition and can be taken as having a lack of class. So, please don't make judgment calls if you were not even there to witness it for yourself. It was a great game played by both FRHS and HH. [Edited by BehindTheArc on 1-12-03 2:34P]
  14. You go girl! UTM got a good one here. I'm happy for ya! Hope you have a great year!
  15. WAY TO GO ARCHIE! You will do great at UTM, I just know it! Best of luck this year ---
  16. Look for Father Ryan to be very competitive again this year. Kristin Archie and Tish Pilkerton are the returning starters and should lead this team, but I think this years team will be more well rounded than last years team (and they were pretty good!). Good luck ladies ..... and GO IRISH
  17. In NO order .......... Angela Phillips - Oak Ridge Dana Carrigan - Beech Kristin Archie - Father Ryan Fallon Lee - McMinn Jena Webb - Oakland Mandy Upton - Wilson Central J. Cleves - Memphis East
  18. Look for BA and USN to be improved, but will not improve enough to catch the Ryan or HH. They may give BGA a run for their money though. St. Cecilia will be down due to the unforunate and tragic loss of Megan Whaley.
  19. Best DII teams in the Metro and surrounding area: 1) Father Ryan 2) Harpeth Hall 3) BGA
  20. Only two (2) teams will advance to the Nationals. State Champions: TN Elite Runner-Up: Sycamore Sparks
