  1. Why is it "made-up", all calls are made with the eyes of the person amking the call and what is seen, whether is it real or not, it was what he saw at that moment of time and a call was made by him. Who is to say that Whitehaven would not have gone down and scored anyway, no one knows and the 2 points would not have mattered.
  2. You keep saying that the call was made on purpose and to make up for some other call. How do you know why the official made this particular call? Are you a mind reader? You just think that is why the call was made, really you have no fact to support your opinion, and it is just that an opinion and we all have one. Good and bad calls are made in all sports it is part of the game, right or wrong. So Maryville lost, maybe they should have not let the game come to having to possibly win by going for a 2 point conversion, maybe they should have not let it be in the officials hands to make a call. If it was a blow out then this would not be an issue. Congrats to Whitehaven and Maryville you both have great programs.
  3. How do you know what he, the official, was wanting to do, you do not know what he was wanting to do , that is just your opinion. I am not saying the call was right or wrong, but that we all make mistakes, period. Yes it was the championship game, when I played on that field in Cookeville I always played to win, but if we lost and I know in my heart that I did all that I could and played to the best of my ability then that is all My Lord and Savior would want, whether we won or not. By the way the call by the official that was made in his judgement was wrong also but I am glad that wrong call was made for my soul. Dispite that fact that it was the championship game it was still just a game, That is my opinion.
  4. Question, did any of the players on either team make a mistake during the game?, did either coach make a mistake during the game, maybe calling the wrong play for a situation? I think both of these can be answered YES. The officials are human they make mistakes too! A old wise official once told me see what you call and call what you see! but do not explain what you called. No one can say if the outcome of the game was changed by this call, right or wrong. We can not predict the future so no one can say that Maryville would have won or if Whitehaven would have won, we do not know either way. You are all wrong for publicly calling out any official on this site by name and degrading them. It was a GAME, played for the love of football, for the pleasure of participating and for doing your best. There are alot more serious things to be concerned with in life. People going hungry, people who are homeless, our military, police officers and fire fighters who are losing their lives? What are you doing about those things! They really matter not who won or lost a GAME! and possible the cause. All plays in a game and all calls in a game affect the outcome not just one play or call. Worry about the things that really matter in life.
  5. As you can see in my previous post I CAN AND DO GIVE HIM CREDIT for being a good position and coordinator coach, but he is not in my opinion a good Head Coach. I think in time the program will rise to winning records and all this will be forgotten. By the way did you play for him at SHS, if not then you have no real knowledge of what happend the last 2 years within the program. So lets put this discussion to rest as the change was made, right or wrong, and move on and support SHS athletics, the staff, administration and especially the student athletes.
  6. Your the one who needs to getarealclue. As you stated he is the offensive coordinator not the Head Coach. No one has said that he can't coach, he is a real good position coach and coordinator he just was not good at running a program. Unless you personally were involved in the program on a daily basis for 3 years, present in the locker room and on the practice fields then keep your opinions, and that is all they are, to your self. Give the so called little man respect because in the long run for the program we have a better situation. Just look at what is being done to improve the athletic facilites that are proposed and being worked on for SHS. Your opinions have no fact to back them up!!!!
  7. RED WARRIOR STILL CURIOUS, WILL YOU ANSWER MY QUESTION?
  8. Red Warrior did you coach at Starkville High School in Starkville, MS? If so what years?
  9. Red Warrior did you coach at Starkville High School in Starkville, MS? If so what years?
  10. I was not directly referring to you individually but to others who are constantly bashing the new coach and principal. I know from first hand knowledge and experience about the discipline problems that were present with the previous coach and it was bad. So unless you personally were present on the field and in the lockeroom on a daily basis you do not the problems that existed.
  11. getarealclue is the one with blinders on, know what really went on within the program and you will stop bashing Dr. Grimes and Coach Wilson. See SHSjackets4life post, he speaks the truth.
  12. You do not know if the teams have given up, they still have internal pride to play for and pride for the program. Stop cutting them down and build them up with support. They have alot to play for, a win. Yes last week's game was poorly played. But that was last week not this week. How about the games against Henry and Dickson we played very well. Stop beating up the players and staff and administration.
  13. None of you who are complaining about the change know the real reasons that a change was made at SHS regarding the football program, all you saw is what happened on the field on Friday nights. Why do you think we lost 3 times in the first round of the playoffs?, coaching; neither do you know what happened on a daily basis within the program, the lack of discipline with the players and not to mention the money issues within the program. A change was needed that is all, stop beating up the coaches, players, and administration and get behind them, support them and all the things that are planned for the future regarding a field at the high school. The program was going in the wrong direction no matter what you saw on the field. Maybe Dr. Grimes had no choice in the change, possibly that choice was made higher up and he was told to make the change. STOP COMPLAINING AND FULLY SUPPORT THE TEAM AND COACHES. IT IS DONE AND OVER AND YOU CAN NOT CHANGE IT NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU COMPLAIN.
  14. Just because there may be talent in the halls does not indicate that they are quality players in that they can follow the school and team rules. Discipline of the players was very lacking in the previous coach and this is a must for a program to get to the level that most would like for this program to reach. Do not blame the Administration for this situation, that should be on the previous head coach. Most do not know the entire situation and this forum nor the paper is the place to discuss what was going on. What has been written in the the local paper was enough information to indicate that a change was needed. In life people are going to face changes in leadership and if they can not modify how they conduct themselves to the new standards that are expected then they do not belong in the program. Look at any college or pro team when a change is made of the Head Coach, players leave the program because they can not meet the expectations of the new coach, that is life and people need to learn to adapt and adjust, this is what we need to learn in order to be successful in life and in sports. Give Coach Wilson time and support and I believe he will have the program back to not just winning games on the field but having players who are winners in the classroom, on the field and that we can be proud of how they behave outside of the school.
