  1. SC does not have 7 wins. They have a hard fought 6 victory season working right now and they will claim every one of those victories! They are working on #7 as we speak. Lets not get ahead of ourselves. I know you said they were 6-2, i'm just saying...
  2. This will be a very good game. Both teams have impressive records in their respective classes. Riverside is riding a 6 game winning streak and they will do their best to make it to 7. Stewart County has something to prove also. Their student athletes want another chance at a home game in the Playoffs and they recognize that Riverside is standing in the way of them taking a big step towards realizing that goal. If Stewart County can stay focused this week on working hard, elevating the level of their play by eliminating mistakes, and executing their game plan they will have a good chance to win this game. I expect the Stewart County upper classmen to be leaders and lead by example in this game because it will be needed on the field. There can be no mental mistakes or loss of composure. Remember the task at hand. Just as was the case last week, I suspect that Coach Holladay and his staff will have their team READY! However, if SC looks ahead and takes Riverside for granted then Riverside will have a good chance to notch that 7th win in a row. Riverside also has a LOT to play for in this game...just as much as SC because they want to prove that they can play at a higher level out of their Class. Getting behind a very good Riverside team will not be the best position for a SC team to be in. Riverside will play this game like a Gleason or a Greenfield did last year against the Rebels. It will be a hard fought game with pride on the line! Whoever wants this one the most gets it. Whoever comes out fighting the hardest has the best chance to win this game in the fourth quarter. This game could be a slugfest. If it comes down to the wire I have to give the edge to SC. They have the numbers and I believe they can wear down Riverside over the course of the game.
  3. as a Stewart County fan, I have seen both of these teams this year and I can tell you this....this will be one heckuva game! Camden has speed, yes, but to counter that Creekwood has tremendous athletic ability and they are very well coached....Creekwood can attack by running AND passing...this will be a very good game to see seeing both teams perform I would have to give the edge on defense to Creekwood and the edge on offense to Camden...that being said, I look for a hard hitting, emotion filled game going back and forth and won by whoever has the ball last...the most important factor could be the kicking game and special teams, as well as who makes the fewest mistakes...if the Camden defense steps up they will force Creekwood to settle for field goals (Creekwood has an excellent kicker) Camden has home field advantage and that usually means 3 points but if they are to win this game (Camden) they better be ready for a game that is more like the second round of the playoffs rather than a district championship game Creekwood has lost only to this year's surprise powerhouse Dickson County and nobody told them that Camden was king...they (Creekwood) expect to win... aside from the all important special teams play in this game: if Camden wins it will be because they put pressure on Creekwood's QB...he has a great arm and receivers who can go get the ball if Creekwood wins it will be because they contained Camden on the outside and didn't give up the big play to the lions did I mention that this will be one heckuva game? my prediction...(and its just a prediction so don't hate me) Camden 32 (4 TD's, 3 XP's, 1 2-point conversion, and 1 field goal) Creekwood 30 (3 field goals, 3 TD's, and 3 XP's) Camden wins by exploiting the "seam" route with a certain receiver... as a last entry...i would pay good money to see this game...and save the ticket stub as it will be a keeper!
  4. montgomery central is vastly improved with a whole new "attitude" and a brand new coaching staff...the past is over as far as they are concerned and it is not surprising to see them get the "W"...they are, after all, 3A...it is quite possible they "outmanned" THE Clarksville Academy but i am quite sure they also worked very hard to prepare for the game...new coaching staffs have a lot to prove and tend to check every "to do" list twice to ensure a good performance by their teams (witness, the kiffin men at UT today)... i would imagine both teams came to play but central just had a little more luck executing their game plan...CA will be a tough opponent this week for the mighty rebs and should NOT be overlooked...take them one game at a time!
  5. give the cubs some respect...they had some players with "heart" and they really tried at first to step it up but SC broke that heart with their defensive stand when the cubs had 1st and goal at the 4...then, SC broke their "will" to play with a tenacious defense...too much desire and pop on defense for SC...#29 LB for SC had a legitimate all-region kind of game...we can't wait to see him duplicate that performance!...he is a leader on and off the field and is inspiring his team mates to pick up their game...every player deserves mentioning on defense, a truly well played team effort on offense #3 ran his team flawlessly...his speed and decision making was impressive...#9 is one tough player and will absolutely make you pay for trying to tackle him, as will #20...every player stepped up tough, tough effort by SC to get a team down, keep them down, and finish them off...line play on both sides of the ball for SC was greatly improved...its good to see that desire from the players to do their individual "jobs" and become a strong, cohesive, team unit... clarksville academy is up next and they have a long and deep history with SC...they will bring their best effort and attitude back to historic stewart county and SC really needs to work hard to not make the same "little" mistakes they made against CC (and there were a few that must be addressed)... if SC has good practices this week, and works hard to improve and raise their level of play, i expect another crowd pleasing effort...but, take nothing for granted, CA brings a lot of pride on the road and SC better be ready for a battle...SC needs to establish a dominance early...and often!
  6. what? class like you've got class? what powderpuff team did you line up for? with a name like cosmic commander you sound like you may have been hit with the sugar truck...try sticking with your own kind, in the disco...ok? loser...girl...third string all of your life so you can only talk now...old and forgotten, that is what you are, i pity you
  7. CONGRATULATIONS Waverly players and coaching staff for making it to the show! Anybody that tells you you can't beat LC has not measured your heart. I talk a lot about heart here on CoachT and you have heart...it was evident against Camden. The scores for SC and Waverly against Camden were remarkably close. Halftime CC 21 Waverly 7. Halftime CC 21 SC 3. Later...CC 42 Waverly 21. Later CC 42 SC 18. Waverly finished their game very strong and were in the game until the end. SC had first and goal on the CC 5 yd line with 9 minutes to go and a score would have made it a 35-25 game. Instead, and interception turned it into 42-18. Here's the point...giving up the big play or making mistakes killed the both of us. If we can both eliminate mistakes and NOT give up the big play we can both win. You don't make it to the show without earning your spot to be there. Sure, we both know what the "chalk" says. But, like I've said here before, the "chalk" does not measure the heart of a team. Here is another point that was evident in both of our big games with CC. We both came expecting to win. We were not intimidated. We both showed up and we both left it all on the field. We expect to see Waverly in the second round. We will accept nothing less! Let's both go take care of business and represent our Region like we are capable of doing. WE ARE REGION 7-2A!
  8. papa(you are not worthy to be called a tiger)tiger...you disgrace your team! you so easily disrespect teams like gleason and greenfield by calling them cupcakes (what a total mustard mouthed jerk you are), these are teams that played their hearts out against us and left it all on the field...the only thing you ever left on a field was your poop after it got knocked out of you! i'd like for you to just once stand up in front of any one of these teams that you disrespect and say to their face what you say here, you typewriting coward...your team did play huntingdon, didn't it? you poor excuse of a man...how did that matchup work out for ya'? i thank God every day that you are papatiger and not paparebel...when you finish just out of the playoffs, i'll come back and see you here again... you are part of the bad karma for the waverly team and while the waverly players are well respected, you are not! you seem to forget that SC did not play for the first 5 minutes of your game but for the other 43 minutes the score was 7-6...cupcake!
  9. too bad you don't remember it...it might have built a little character in you!
  10. you don't have to be in the program to know these things...not everybody on these threads is "in" the program...before you write anything else you might want to consider doing a little homework... btw, there are administrative secretaries at hc, aren't there?
  11. maybe you were the kind of player who had the kind of game that caused you to have doubts about ever beating a team that beat you badly before...CC moved past that years ago and so has SC...and its crystal clear that you are a poor judge of character because coach holliday has more class in his little finger than you do in your whole body...you need to just get over the fact that SC is no longer everybody's homecoming game and you'll be fine...why don't you take your momma's advice...if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything... now, on to this week...while you and i discuss your inadequacies, CC and SC are preparing for the biggest game of the year...two teams (two top ten teams, might i add) who seem to be peaking at just the right time meet in the final game of the regular season for the regional championship...like i said in another thread, you paint that however you want to... these two head coaches, and their staffs, and their fine, hard working players deserve a heck of a lot of credit for placing their teams in this highly desirable position...they deserve a lot more credit than you see fit to honor them with...but, not me, i do honor them SC and CC bring a pride to their communities that money can not buy and in my book they are both winners, they are both moving on to the playoffs and both bring great credit to themselves and their schools we in SC are just pulling for a few more points on friday night, that's all! WE ARE SC!
  12. ok...you asked for it so you'll get it! your coach may have been a part of this rivalry for however many years you say, i don't know...i do know this is his first year as head coach...does he know what common decency is? NO! he has not returned a phone call from the SC coach in a year, our coach calls and calls and he will not have the common decency to return the call...won't do it...when he exchanges films he has absolutley nothing to say...fine, that's ok...what is not ok is editing the films to leave chunks of the game out...how about this...he brings his team to a junior varsity game on our field last year wearing home greens...it caused our team to change into mesh practice jerseys and then, again last friday, the same thing and i don't know who you were talking to but c'mon, jersey mix up? since when do you show up for an away game with home dark jerseys? should have been a penalty...now, you want more? this guy has his secretary call up our administration TODAY at 3 o'clock to cancel this year's junior varsity game...talk about classless! he cancels at 3 oclock on the day of the game?!! he doesn't even have the guts to call and cancel himself, he has his secretary do it! just who does he think he is? this 50 year football tradition of a border rivalry deserves more than this guy can even fathom and i am, honestly, surprised that the houston county administration is putting up with it...surely to goodness they don't know how he is dragging them down...before you start questioning why our coach put up 40 points on hc you might want to think about why he didn't put up 50! and one final point...when we were losing all those years to hc we didn't even once think about ending this tradition...we went home, licked our wounds, and tried to get better...your coach is a quitter and he is talking about quitting now (he quit today)...i bet your players will have a little say in that matter because they are NOT quitters..they believe in tradition and they believe that, with the right coaching, they can be a good football team again and can work to bring more to a game than just "head" games...maybe the hc coach should try coaching something he is more suited for...like girl's wrestling...he is disgracing your program and you can't even see it! now, we've got bigger fish to fry this week so this is my last comment on this thread...i've listened to you and said my piece...if you want to sit down over a cup of coffee and come to some common ground over why we "think" how we do let's talk after this week...until then, good luck in your game this week
  13. you know, i was at that game and if the Rebs actually ran through your procession i can guarantee you it was unintentional...i mean, think about it, you're getting ready to play the best team in the region last year at their house and you are trying to get as pumped and ready for the game as possible...i think the last thing on their minds was running through a hc parade...that being said, if you guys used it to get pumped, unintended by us, or not (and it was not), you do what you gotta do to get "up"...we all do that...good luck this week, have a safe trip over, and hope everybody is injury free
  14. nice "book"... listen cupcake, anyone can give a chronology of the historic record...you don't know the why's and wherefore's of last week, last month, and last year which was much more applicable to last week's game...no disrespect to the hc coach but he is new and somewhat of a rookie and may need to grow up a little concerning his day to day actions...i don't know what your problem is with coach holliday, say what you will about him, but before you begin to judge his professionalism you might try attending more than 1 or 2 games a year if you really want to "wow" us with your knowledge of this border rivalry tell us how many times these two teams have met and what is the overall record...i don't know, for sure, that is why i am asking...i will hazard a guess, though... i'm gonna say somewhere in the neighborhood of 55 straight annual games and i have no idea who holds the edge but i do know this one thing for sure...if you want to make this game as prestigious as many think it should be then you need to think along historical records (your "book" was good in that it was informative, albeit from your somewhat slanted point of view)...you have to respect every one of those "55" years, the players, the coaches, the fans, the programs (or, lack thereof) and move forward embracing all of that and not ignoring it...until you know the actual "ins" and "outs" you are not going to be able to accurately reflect on what happened, imho!
  15. you are not smart enough to read a book much less know the recent history of these two programs so before you go off half cocked (too late for that) stick to whatever it is you know something about because it is surely not this subject, sayshemaybehadgame...you wouldn't know class if it swam up and bit you in the...rear but you do know this and you hate it...SC WILL play for the region next friday and CC WILL prepare for that...that much I CAN GUARANTEE...and you, maybehadgame, will write about it
  16. you know, you are such a joke... all last week i read about how if you had the SC schedule you would be undefeated (how's that mustang part workin' out for ya?) and about how the most important part of the game would be, incredibly, who would pay for the pregame, fatcat meal you were gonna eat...oh, you ate alright, you ate a whole lot of CROW! you guys (the fans) got exactly what you asked for...your keyboards handed to you in your gut...how was that ride home? do much soul searchin'? did you think about how SC beat that team? (you should of) your only problem is the fact that you, papatiger are blinded by devotion...hey, that's a good thing but when you get your butt beat you get it beat...your team got beat by a better team...a team that wanted it more beat you, a team with more heart beat you, a team that "showed up" beat you...don't act like it didn't happen, it did you lost to huntingdon and SC beat huntingdon! darn, that sure throws a monkey wrench into all your well laid dinner plans for the future, doesn't it? try thinking more about the game next week and helping your team out somewhere instead of proclaiming them winner at the dinner table and "moving on" move on with another loss
  17. hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha i laugh at you...you are a laughing stock! the best team won...we'll move on now
  18. you can't "assure" anything, you can only hope...because that's all you got, hope because you too stumbled, you tripped along the way...you got beat by an "inferior" team, didn't you? you are not this great, wise, and all powerful entity that people like SC should bow down to after all, are you (tiger "fanatics?")...and, yes, these are not actual team members on here...mostly, fans hope springs eternal, my fellow 7-2A faithful...and you "fans" in waverly, as soon as you realize it, just asked for a big dose of hope...jump on in there and get you some hope, it keeps you solid...and a little humble pie while your at it 'cause Lord knows you could stand a slice...or two Now, CC, SC, Waverly or CC, Waverly, SC, and Mustangs all control their own destiny...with one and two games left in the regular season they all can stand tall...this is good for our region, it makes our region exciting and puts butts in the seats...Adamsville has a terrific organization and is, regrettfully, just out of controlling their own destiny (they have a bunch of great of players) and they can stand tall and, really, so can every player in our region in one way or another...stand tall, 7-2A
  19. has anyone noticed that the guy who is alaways "talking" about SC's "dirty play" always ends up saying, "well, i didn't actually see too much, really..." does anyone ever think...that if you show up at another team's home wearing your own "home" jerseys and said you were going to wear your own home jerseys because hey, this was your house...well, that's admirable but if you comes asking for a thumpin' you gets a thumpin'...42 ta nuffin! you say they (SC) doesn't play dirty, really...so, why do you even bring it up? you say the SC coach is "cocky"...hmmm, and their team is like their coach but, not dirty, cocky...hmmm again, well, that ain't cocky you smell, redneckt...thats the sweet smell of vic-to-ry...you should have taken a deep breath of that inside yourself while you were there...i hope you did... now i ain't sayin' nuthin' bad 'bought wavoly (no disrespect bluetigerwhitetiger bro') 'cept what i already said...the "chalk" don't measure the heart of a team...looks like wavo is guilty of doing the same thing SC did at wavy...they did not come to play, they hic-cupped, they stumbled...life is funny sometimes...but huntingdon came to play, didn't they? they came to win...they came more focused...i wish i could bottle that! so...it looks like, for the second year in a row, SC plays for a piece of the regional championship in the final game of the regular season...you can paint that however you want to, fellas...i'll take it, and your paint, every year! listen, you will never respect your opponent until you respect the fact that your opponent "can" beat you...yes, they can...respect your opponent, did you think the mustangs would just be steamrolled because you said they should be, because you said wafer was this big steamrollin' man who was gonna roll into camden with some whoopbutt in a can...ok i give up...now what?
  20. listen, mustard mouth, you base your views on one game and a deep predudice...have another hot dog! holy criminy...do you EVER stop making excuses?
  21. actually, we've been seeing it for 8 weeks now...pretty decent and spectacular are two entirely different things...we at SC think our QB will get the mustang coaches' nod over your qb...no disrespect intended but facts are hard to dispute
  22. hmmm...very interesting this week's game between mustangs and tigers has a lot riding on it!
  23. huntingdon is playing for more than just a win, more than just a wildcard playoff spot, more than just a homecoming win, they are playing for their pride, they are playing for their tradition as a great former state champion in football, and they are playing for the sake of the history of their school this year's won-loss records of these two teams are thrown out the window for this one...i wouldn't be surprised if every ex-mustang alive shows up for this one to cheer them on to make something out of this disappointing season the "chalk" says waverly will win the "chalk" doesn't test how much heart a team has this one is a coin toss, who wants it the most?
  24. at this point houston county doesn't care if they only win one game for the rest of the season...SC! if they beat SC, and they will bring everything they've got, their season will be "made" time for SC to take them one game at a time and focus on their annual border war with their arch rivals...whatever happens throughout the rest of their region is out of their control...for now WE ARE SC!
