  1. They say the truth hurts, but man, that is brutal. Hey Rossviewman, I know it's early, but you may want to pour yourself a drink after that tidbit of information.
  2. Well, I havent been to any in east TN, or many in Middle Tn. But in west TN, as far as stadiums go, Martin Westview plays thier games on the UTM Skyhawks Stadium, so it's pretty nice. Hardin County has a really nice place. I am biased, but Henry County has made several renovations/additions that have them moving up such as new bathrooms, renovated consessions stand, new enlarged press box, bleachers in the endzones, playclocks on the each end of the field, new sound system, and last but not least is our new $100,000 score board with video capabilities. As far as the view, I would prefer to sit in the home section of Henry County than I would anywhere else except maybe Martin. Good elevation, not too far from the field. Although our visitor's section desperately needs to be next on the "to do" list. Small and shabby to say the least. Now if we are talking about atmosphere, there is one and ONLY ONE place that comes to my mind, and that has to be......Orange Mound. Absolutely Incredible. Great people, great food, great time, great games everytime I've been. For those who dont know, thats home to the Melrose Golden Wildcats.
  3. We should start a new thread with a proper name.
  4. Humboldt was definately better than people were giving them credit to be. Good luck the rest of the season Vikings! Hope #20 heals ok.
  5. Good Lord, we won the game. Patriot04 has been an asset to the coacht community for some time now. I enjoy his posts, and his dedication to the team. He was merely showing some concern for Shonte's health playing both ways. He was in no way suggesting he should take over coaching for Gaddis or give Gaddis coaching tips. Get off his back. Patriot04, I understand what you were saying, but I am sure after reading the posts that were addressed to you, you now understand that it was a necessity to play Shonte that way, not a want.
  6. If you listen closely, you can hear a Yanker hootin' and hollerin' some where in celebration.
  7. The YANKER apologizes to my Henryland friends for my absence yesterday. I was unexpectantly called out of town...but the YANKER is back!!!!! The YANKER feels that my beloved Cougars are improved and on the road back...but while my heart tells me one thing...the head of this YANKER tells me the truth...we are not quite ready for the Tomcats from Haywood County...but we will be soon...but for now...Haywood County 20-JCM 6.............Now the match-up that has captured the minds of the Henryland faithful could be a good one...this is the most talented Liberty team EVER (the YANKER hates to admit that) and HC cannot be as good as in recent years (you lost an ALL WORLD quarterback and a 28 year old running back)...but all of that said...HC 28-Liberty 13...I AM THE YANKER!!! Correction. He didnt turn 28 til this summer, so technically he was only 27 at the time. Good luck to you and your Cougars Yank!
  8. Ok. Have you seen us punt? Obviously not. Have you seen us kick off? Me neither. We cant pooch kick every game. Your thinking about a measly 3 points in a scrimmage game. I am thinking about field position, especially when we get to competition that you cant afford to hand the ball to on the 40yd line every time (i.e. Hillsboro). If you are basing your opinion of our entire kicking game on one 43 yd field goal, then you dont understand what Im talking about anyway.
  9. Here we go baby! It's finally here. Can't wait to see us Patriots fans squirming in our seats when we're not up by 30 in the second quarter. It's gonna be fun! It should make for a much more interesting season. We should be much more conventional this year, with long, mythodical scoring drives. I think we will still be very successful, just not as many long TDs. Let's go boys! Oh BTW, I was impressed with #11 playing safety. Secondary is still a little shaky, but the kicking game seems to be our biggest "?" at the moment. Time will tell. Let's GO BIG RED!
  10. OH YEAH BABY!!! It's just around the corner, THANK GOD! I can almost hear pads smackin'!
  11. Are they this year? I cant find them on my guide for DirecTV. Anyone know what channel? I watched them last year, but cant find them this year. Any help?
  12. I havent posted since the loss, only read. I will say first congratulations to HHS. You were the better team. But I am only posting to address the complaints about HC sitting on the home side. First of all, if you drove 2 hours to Henry County and we had no place for you to sit, I would expect you to sit where ever you could. If that means sitting on the 50yrd line on the HC side, come have a seat. I promise we wont have hard feelings over it. Second, instead of justifying your complaints with lack of funds from the Metro school whatever, how about you thank all the HC fans for giving you the best gate you've probaly ever had. Maybe we helped contribute some funds to help with desperately needed renovations. No disrespect was meant by sitting on "your" side, for God's sake it was all people who were there to watch the same game and they probably didnt think you would be shallow enough to take it personal. Unlike others, I still hope and wish you luck against the Maryville machine. And if you get there early enough, sit on their side...it's kinda liberating. talk to you guys in 09.
  13. Rain would effect both teams, so that wouldnt be a valid excuse to me. But I agree, I want there to be no doubt when the game is over. AND dear God if it goes into overtime, I will stroke out after last year.
  14. Scrimmage? We talkin bout a scrimmage? Listen, we in here talkin bout a scrimmage. NOT A GAME, NOT A GAME, NOT A GAME......we talkin about a scrimmage. We talkin about a scrimmage...how silly is that? I know it's important, I do...but we talkin about a scrimmage. We're talkin bout a scrimmage. We're talkin bout a scrimmage. We aint talkin bout the game, we talkin bout a scrimmage? We talkin bout a scrimmage, we're not talkin bout the game, the actual game, when it matters...we talkin bout a scrimmage. (this is not to be confused or mistaken with Allen Iverson's infamous practice speech /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" /> )
  15. I personally think our boys HAVE TO, i repeat HAVE TO come out the more physical team, and hitting hard on every single play. Dont let up Patriots!!! You have to fight harder this week than ever before. May the Burros never forget the night the Patriots came to town!!! PATRIOTS, PREPARE FOR GLORY!!! HIT SOMEBODY!!! (If you cant tell, I am overly excited about this game. Thank God I dont have to work anymore this week!)
  16. When this was the topic of discussion last year, someone said there was some type of mistake and the only way for it to rectify itself was for the (H) to stay on the same side of the bracket two years in a row. As luck would have, it just so happened to be Henry Co. in the semis both years. I do not know any details or if it is true, but that is what was discussed on here last if I remember correct. Can anyone shed some light on this?
  17. TraderB, Did you sit on the HC side towards the Melrose fans? I talked to a guy on that end at the very end of the game after all the Melrose fans had cleared out and I just had to wonder if it was you. He said he thought about going to the Germantown game but came to our game instead. Just wondering...
  18. I sat among the Melrose fans on our side. I asked them if the clock ever works, and they replied "This is the first time it aint worked this year." /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" SOMETHING could have and should have been done. Think about how many times you see officials screw up the clock when it is on the score board. In a game of this magnitude, SOMETHING should have been done. RED WARRIOR, is there anything a coach can do in situations like this? Or is it pretty much you have to go along with whatever the officials want to do and deal with it? I am glad we won, talk about a controversy if Melrose had made the 2pt. conversion.
  19. ...and don't think our juniors and seniors have forgot about it. IT'S PAYBACK TIME!!!!
  20. I am guessing the same thing. Does anyone know if they dressed out for the East game? Maybe like they were there if absolutely needed, but they got it done with out them. Just wondering...
  21. You get my point. All the Maryville vs. Henry County talk is going to seem pretty silly if both teams are watching the championship game on TV.
  22. Who is Maryville? /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  23. I envy the Melrose fans. Look what they have accomplished as fans. NO ONE IN THE STATE WANTS TO HAVE TO PLAY THERE (except Henry County). I mean really, they are the ultimate 12th man. They have managed to give there team a huge advantage and mental edge before the other team even gets on the field. They are all on the same page when it comes to chants, shaking they're keys, etc. Heck when they kick off and sing "we bout to kill somebody", they do freakin two part harmony!!! I was hoping Melose would beat East so we could go there.
