  1. I know this Southeast. The offensive coordinator had his most balanced year as far as play calling goes. Coach Hunt has assembled what appears to be a very good staff and the fight and grit put forth by the team is a direct reflection of each coach from HUNT right on down. As for the Hampton game, it should go down as the Bears worst game of the year capped by some of the poorest officiating ever to be witnessed. In the first half every time there was a play resulting in positive yardage for the bears there was also a penalty to negate the gain. Also Hampton players did not display good sportmanship. #12 flipped off the Tellico bench and crowd and was allowed to remain in the game by his coach. I know Coach Hunt would never have allowed one of his to compete should they have ever done this. Totally classless. I like the bears chances to make another run next year with some pretty solid juniors and sophs returning...........
  2. Shocker, Shocker, Shocker you must really be trying to light a fire under Hampton. If not then you must really have an axe to grind against them? Don't know much about Hampton except they have a tradition of playing winning football. According to Hampton's roster the linemen have very good size for a high school football team and according to opponents they will drive you off the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. If the margin of victory is by 30 then you have to figure Hampton will be on the winning side. Tellico's offense struggles when in scoring position; In games against Grace, Harriman, Meigs and Oliver Springs trips inside the twenty ended by fumbles or loss of downs. Their offense can't struggle and stay with Hampton at Hampton. Lets assume this turns out to be a well officiated contest and both teams perform as they have through the year, if they do then I see Hampton winning by 14 but not by 30.
  3. O.K. folks it is time to stop with bad mouthing both teams. They both deserve better treatment. It is a shame that either team will have to lose this ballgame, but you can bet it will be well worth the ticket price. I understand that fans for both teams are protective of their men, but for crying out loud the game will be played out on the field and not on this thread. Trying to get the upper hand by comparing scores or schedules is just plain petty. If you fans want to do something constructive how about congratulating each team for the hard work they have put forth to get to this point. Hampton has the rich tradition of winning football and Tellico is new to how it feels to win consistently. All hail both teams Go Bulldogs and Go Bears give the fans a treat..........
  4. Seating capacity. Two years probation............
  5. Rumors are rumors but has Coach Wiggins quit? Does anyone know why?
  6. This is a big game for the Tellico Bears. They must have this game to get to 7 total wins in order to keep pace with Rockwood. RW would finish with 7 if they somehow lose to Harriman. The game is at Harriman so anything can happen, the Bears should know that. 7 wins and a Harriman victory has to play out in order for the Bears to benefit from beating Rockwood earlier in the season. It seems unfair to the Bears that the Rockwood vs Harriman game could determine whether they get to have a playoff game at home or whether they will play the visitor in each game should they reach the playoffs. It looks like the Bears have to be Harriman fans for this game and in return they have to beat Midway in order to get a better seeding. Looks like if Rockwood wins they have the first tie breaker and would get the automatic qualifier and TP would be eligible for a wildcard. If TP relies on TSSAA to give the wildcard they may not even get to make it to the show.
  7. Southeast, I hope you recover from your short term memory loss. Look back and you will see I took Grace, HARRIMAN, and Polk. Not too shabby going 3 of 4. I like the Bears, they have a fairly good team when they show up to play. The playoffs for this team will be interesting and they have a chance to go at least two games deep and that is good. I can see a big difference in your Bears this year and I like the coaching staff that Coach Hunt has surrounding him, they appear to all be on the same page. I wish good luck to the team in the playoffs, but I will continue to call the games as I see them regardless of your tainted view of my results............!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. Nope Matback I am just a H/S football fan. I have watched all of the Monroe teams play this year as well as Loudon and Greenback. With ten games it gives me a chance to travel around the counties and watch some of the best matches. I will be at Greenback because of the importance of this game to both teams. Tellico can bring it, Greenback can bring it and that's what makes a fan relish these match ups. What I was saying was that the last two games Tellico seems to have taken three steps backwards. Greenback has been more consistent in their playing of the season games. Greenback is at home, it is Greenback homecoming, they are playing Tellico so we know the Kees will be fired up. I would not be surprised to see the boys from Greenback win the game.
  9. The Stinnet kid has been the QB. It was reported that Atkins has a Grade 1 AC Sprain. I don't know when he will return haven't heard. The line play was totally different the past two games compared to the results from the first 6. By looking from outside in it appears that they are getting tired way too early in the games. Like I said I did not get to see any of the earlier games except for Grace. I don't like the Bears chances at Greenback, the Kees defend the home turf too well. Look for Tellico to take a big loss cause they can't find enough heart to play from behind. It looked like Tellico was satisfied with playing just hard enough and incapable of taking it to the next level once they get behind. I think Greenback will score early and will win sort of lopsided in this game. If the Cherokees score first the Bears will come apart at the seams beginning with the line and ending with the quarterback. He played Polk with his head down all night on offense and defense. The Harriman and Polk games the kid lost probably six balls from under center, total lack of concentration. No hustle or energy all night last Friday night, not what I had heard about the hard nosed football team they were built up to be. I suppose maybe fear has something to do with making you feel tired and not hustling, but I did not see a very tough football team play Grace, Harriman or Polk County. I didn't look for Tellico to be in the mix at the beginning of the season and I don't look for them to be around at the end. Greenback is very capable of sending them back home with a loss.
  10. I thought I was going to get to watch two good football games by following Tellico to Harriman and then to Polk County. The games would have been easier for me to watch if the Bears had played better in both games. But it is what it is and Tellico didn't seem to play well in either game. Turnovers at critical points in the game killed Tellico in both games. It seems that QB has gotten shy of taking hits and is not executing the offense. I think I have seen him fumble the snap from center 4 or 5 times the last two ball games. Their offensive and defensive line play has not been very good at all. They seem to get winded way too early in the ball games and then are unable to call on reserve energy to finish. Their conditioning seems to be going down hill. Linemen were calling for help early in the Polk contest and the Harriman game was just as bad. I look for Greenback line to take control of Tellico as well and win a critical district game. I would not be surprised to see Greenback score at least 28 points and if they score first, look to Tellico to lay down and take a whipping from the Cherokees.
  11. Is Tellico a one man show this year? It sounds like if Odell is out of the line up then they become a different team (a team that can win). Still looks like the Harriman offensive line and plenty of TEAM effort will be too much for Tellico to overcome in this district showdown. Harriman has been in big games before and the game is at Harriman and it is homecoming, got to go with Harriman for the win. Tellico is very vulnerable, Grace showed that the defensive right side can be exposed and they popped several passes over both corners and the safety was slow to recover. By the by who plays safety? I think it starts with an O. Harriman will have an answer for Tellico when they come to town....
  12. Probably Harriman. This is a big district game and Harriman staff has been in big important games before. Harriman has a good running game just like Tellico except from the double wing. Offensive line plays hard for both teams. Defensively both teams resemble one another. This game should be fun to watch, but playing Harriman at Harriman in a game that is this important should automatically give Harriman the edge. Go with Harriman......
  13. IF is a big word. But IF your scenarion plays out it should go like this: 1. Team with the most victories 2. Team having most wins over teams winning 50% of their games 3. Team whose opponents have the most victories 4. Team whose opponents have the fewest defeats 5. Team having most victories over same classification opponents 6. Ten yard line overtime game at neutral site. But, after the game I don't think Grace will be involved in any of the three way tie scenarios. Grace should win and take the District title.
  14. IF Sequoyah will play inspired, fired up defensive football like we know they can the game can be closer than some think. Steinhardt is still tough against the run. Don't know how bad the injury bug is at Seq, but I do know that when they decide to play hard and really get after the football defensively they can be tough. The season is still young and if Seq gets some points there is no telling how inspirational that could be for the defense. As Jimmy Valvano said "Don't ever give up!"
  15. Ivens did not at Coalfield, rumor has it he has a bum knee from GCA game. Also according to news his father was hurt bad in a four wheeler accident this week and still in the hospital. The (film) on TP should show D and O line make mistakes in the GCA game, but still are handled well by GCA linemen. #7 for Tellico will feel the pressure from RW line and make bad decisions (just like the GCA game) that will cost TP the game. QB frustration will come from the RW line's ability to handle TP at the point of contact.
