  1. Prayers for the Sharp family and especially Mrs. Sharp from Camden. God bless and keep you Mrs. Sharp. Praying for a speedy and total recovery.
  2. Amen Navy Chief and hope Waverly does just not as strong as Hickman Co or Fairview. Of course it doesn't really matter if Waverly wins out or not except for District Champ honors and home field advantage in the playoffs.
  3. Thanks. I think Coach Blow is a good coach and I support him completely. I like him a lot and his son too. Wes was a very good reciever last year. I was listening to the game on the internet from Florida. Didn't know Dillon was the one who threw the ball. Radio said it was ahandoff to the back, don't believe they called his name and you are right about the fact that had it worked Coach would be a hero. Because it didn't a lot of people see it differently. Had it been midway through the second quarter instead of under 1 minute left inthe half I would have not said a word. Probabely shouldn't have anyway. Wasn't really trying to disrespect the coaches. Was actually more of a statement aimed at a couple of posters who got so riles up at Waverlys loss to Lewis. The bottom line is I think both teams played a very good game and Waverly Won.
  4. Truth of the matter is all that did happen. But the Dumb play called by Camden with less than 1 minute left in the 1st half is exactley what gave Waverly the game and you haven't beay Hickman or Fairview yet so watch what you brag about. It was no more of a fluke what Lewis did to you. That beat you in the 4th quarter, and I was there. Their Defense got after you QB and shut him down. They had your center so tore up he shot the ball over your kickers head. Camden knew what to do but they laid back and let the passes come. They knew better. They watched you play at Lewis and you played no different than you did at Lewis. You won against Camden. This thread is over go beat your chest somewhere else. You have Hickman next week. I suggest you concentrate on them because the have the potential to wax you good just like Lewis did.
  5. Wingman10 you are right Waverly scored more points. The accounts below are true the names were changed to protect the innoscent. Waverly played a good game. Camden is not one demintional but almost. Your guys keyed on Brown all night long and he still rushed for 250 yards and 3 TDs. Please dont act like waverly really outplayed Camden. You didn't. Camden missed 3 extra points or it would have been a tie. If the Coach had just ran the ball at the end of the half with under a minute left, knowing he got the first in the 2nd half, instead of trying an off the wall play, QB hands off to running back, running back tries to pass back to QB and is intercepted run back to 5 yard line. Run next play and clock didn't even stare. finelly the refs saw fit to take off 4 seconds, Waverly could decrease their score by 7 then where would you be. But all that did happen and Waverly won. Doen this sound like what someone else would say. What do you think Wavotiger10.
  6. I thimk you have a good chance at a win but you will have to be mistake free as possible and play the whole game like you did against Lewis. Keep an eye on Zimmerman, he's explosive.
  7. Didn't know, that's why I ask. Paper had the 6th on it. Still have it as a matter of fact. I did ask cause I really didn't know. I like to read the paper to see what others say win or lose.
  8. Went around us except for a lot of rain. Appreciate you asking and concern.
  9. I think if Zimmerman is healthy and stays that way during the game Fairview could win this game. Don't think it will be a blowout but they have a very good Defense. Could go either way but I think Fairview by 7 maybe 13. Oh and I have a Question for the Hickman Co people. I was through there last Monday the 6th and picked up a paper. Now Camden played you on the 3rd but the Frount page of the sports section had Undefeated Hickman beats Lewis Co. Do you guys stay a week behind in you paper or did someone intentionally put that in to avoid telling the public that Hickman lost to Camden. Just wondering.
  10. Yep you're right Huntingdon is a single A team. A single A team that splits winning amd losing with Camden, Milan, Martin Westview and some other AA teams in west Tn. and would most likely beat Waverly Lewis Hickman and Fairview this year. That's part of the reason they are so good. They pick teams in higher AA catigories to play unlike other teams that will remain unnamed that pick teams like Erin who is very very down and then brags about how bad they beat them. Pretty sure they would beat Waverly just by the style of football they play and the style Waverly plays. Your lineman would not be moving very fast by the end of the 1st half and everyone of the would be nursing leg injuries the next day.You are very disallusioned my friend. Not saying that is a bad thing for you. Your passion for you team is admirable but your volitility isn't. Calm down and it will all be over with in a few more days. Then you can tell everyone how the Refs cheated Waverly like they did in Lewis Co.
  11. I try real hard not to disrespect any one or any team period. I'm an old man according to all my grandchildren. I like High School Football better than College or Pro for that matter. I really like to watch how they play their hearts out, not for money or even a chance at a pro contract but for the fun of it and the pride in the schools that they represent. That being said i am going to give my openion on 11A football. My openion mind you is that Camden is the best team in 11A. I believe Fairview is the next in line as long as zimmerman is healthy and playing because he are so explosive. Lewis, Hickman and Waverly are real close. Would be hard to pick between them. I do believe that, even though Hickman beat Lewis, overall I believe Lewis is all around the better team. I think like The Lewis game the matchup between Hickman and Waverly is fairly eaven. If Hickman puts pressure as lewis did on the QB in the last Quarter they could come away with the win. If you dont apply constant pressure on him he will beat you. As for the numbers the middle linebacker has been putting up , they are impressive numbers and would be much more impressive if they were put up against Camden, Lewis, Fairview, and Hickman instead of Erin, Stewart , the Red Hawks or MC. Talley up his numbers and post them for the last 4 games of the season after the season is over and we'll see if they are just as impressive. I don't think they will. I do not believe there is any way Waverly will score over 21 at the most on Camden. Waverly will be totally on dimentional, a passing team only after the first quarter if it takes that long. I do so hope and pray for no injuries. I also hope Waverly has some good backups for the lineman because they will probabely need them. Go Lions. Camden 40 waverly 13
  12. It is so good to see a dreamer form time to time and a deadicated fan and you are sure both. Waverly might put up 14 maybe if they are real lucky 21. Camden will be ahead of waverly by 21 at the half if not before. It's not just me talking about John Jones and Deshan Brown it's the Jackson Sun and the Nashville Banner. Your QB was contained and compleated very few passes against Lewis Co . Camden has a way better defense than all the teams you have met combined or any team you will meet in the future. No one in 11A has stopped Brown or kept him from gaining 250 yards at least and scoring 3 to 4 TD per game. Our defense scores TD too and so does QB and 3 of the other backs that are utilized. We played the upper escelon of 11 A while you were playing the lower and beat them all by no less than 15. We beat lewis by 18. Good luck Friday Night you will definately need it.
  13. I think #5 is a fast descent football player. He can throw a long way down field and I do believe there are a couple more players that are good ball players. If they are not seniors they will be much improved next year but not special yet. John Jones from Crockett Co and Deshan Brown from Camden, those are special talented players. Camden will be physical and #5 will be useing his legs alot. Hard to throw passes when you are running around like a chicken with it's head cut off. There were at least 3 occasions last night in the first quarter when Lewis had success getting outside and gained some very good yardage. Brown would have scored TDs. You won't catch him from behind. Of course as I have always said it will come down to matchups and penelties. If Camden doesn't shoot themselves in the foot, they win by 20+ points. Of course there is always the fact that Camden is crossing the river. You always have to score 1 or 2 touchdowns extra for the refs to win. Just a couple facts as I see them. Fairview beat Lewis 3. Hickman beat Lewis by 4 and I don't see how that happened. Camden beat Fairview by15, Hickman by 19 and Lewis by 18. Lewis beat Waverly by 5. Tell me how that constitutes to a close game. But of course any given Friday night anything can happen. Hope no one has any serious injuries. Good luck Waverly just not too much this Friday night. GO Camden Lions.
  14. I think if Camden can avoid 20 holding penalties in this game, they score everytime they have the ball. Waverly doesn't have the defense that can stop them. Waverly will score but the QB is going to be one tired cat from all the running he will do. Whitfield, Reese, Whitely and # 82 will be all over him. You won't get the rushing yards against Camden that you got against Lewis. If you beat Camden it will have to be in the Air and that won't happen because you QB is not that good. Brown and the rest of the offense will steam roll you like hot tar on a hot road.
  15. Well for all those who are unbeleavers Lewis Co never gave up. I was at the game and it was basically a shoot out. Lewis scored waverly scores off and on all night long. There was no cheating that I saw. Both teams committed penelties that were not called. I went to Lewis Co looking to see a very impressive Waverly team. The hype is much more impressive than the reality. Yes the QB can run and he did a lot of it tonight but in the last quarter it was the wrong way. Waverly you have come a long way from the last few years and if you want it you will get better. I will say this. On the two or three plays that you let get outside and a couple you let get long runs off tackle, Camden would have scored. You would have been down at 14 maybe 21 to zip in the first Quarter. Waverly youre Defense is not very good and your offense is not really that impressive. I think that waverly will be very lucky to win another game this year. of course i'm not always right. You haven't seen anything like Deshan Brown and Camden has a couple more Offensive players that are very fast. You couldn't catch Lewis ball carriers and they couldn't catch Brown. #5 is going to get a lot of up close and personal contact next week. Expect it and be ready for it. Guys i'm not putting waverly down. They played hard all 4 quarters. Lewis defense just steppet up in the 4th very impressively. Congrats to you Lewis Co on an impressive defencely played game and win. I pray for no injuries that the young man that the Ambulance took is not seriously injured.
  16. So right you are. Talk is cheap. When the time comes and if Waverly beats Camden my hat will come off to you. Gurantee you one thing, should you beat Camden you will most likely sweep the distric but never count out Fairview either. Camden beat them but it was early in the season and was no walk in the park. Depends on the match ups. I will gurantee you one thing Waverlys QB will have to do a lot of throwing on the run throughout the rest of the season. Good luck to all and especially to Camden when they meet Waverly on the 17th. Good luck to you Waverly Friday night against Lewis Co. They are hard hitters as the offensive line will attest to after the game. I pray both teams have no serious injuries.
  17. Memories are a good thing to have. Helps us to look back on happier times, easier times. They have no bearing on what will happen today or tomorrow but it is good to dream isn't it. Maybe you will have good memories of the game this Friday night and maybe you wont but don't bet on good memories from Friday night of the 17th. Doubt very seriously if that game will leave you with happy thoughts. Hope all teams finish the season with no serious injuries.
  18. I think their biggest problem is speed, on both sides of the ball. Diffluct for them to get outside on offense but they will beat you to death up the middle.
  19. I just come back to Canden that year and really couldn't remember who Camden played but I did remember Fishers son playing and that they were all the same size in height. Thanks for rembering for me a setting me straight. I have so much CRS going on I should wright everything down.
  20. Jacketman89, believe me when I say Hickman co has no business in the top ten. Fairview is a much better team all around, even wit a young team. Zimmerman is a beast and next year with more experience Fairview will be extremely tough and a lot harder to beat. Prior to Camden playing Hickman we all heard about the Brothers and if they were healthy how bad a day Camden was going to suffer and I admit they were the only bright spot on the Hickman team but were rendered irellevant most of the game. Fairview is a better team I believe. But it all comes down to matchups. Wavotiger10, The Waverly team has suprised a lot of people this year. Am looking forward to seein you guys play Friday night. Won't be able to be there when you play Camden. Sure hate to miss that game but am going to Florida on the 14th. Another Granddaughter in the process of being brought into the world as we speak. Now don't take Lewis co lightly. They tackle well and will rattle you chimes. Going to be a lot of sore tires tigers come Saturday. I wish both teams success and good luck with no severe injures on either team. Just for the record anyone who thinks that little 2A team from Huntingdon that beat Camden is a pushover. WRONG they have a very fine coach and even though they only run 3 or 4 plays, they do it with 4 to 5 different players and the do it very well. You are extermely lucky if you have the ball over once or twice in and Quarter. They would beat the majority of 3AA teams and most likely a lot of 4AA. Good luck to both teams. Looking forward to the game.
  21. Camden played Goodpasture I think. I know it was a private school. Jeff Fishers' son was the back up QB for the team. Every single player was just about the same height. They all ran 6 ft 2 to 6ft 3 maybe and the lineman were massive at that height. They ran timing pass plays. You would have thought they were a college team. Their head coach and a couple of their assistants were former NFL players. Look at Milan. Dominated for years. Managed to win the Gold Ball some. I'm not sure how many but I know a couple. They get to the championship a lot though but don't win. Private schools will tell you they donr recrute. That's bull. West Tennessee and a lot of middle Tn. teams are all rural communities. They are basically running teams with the wing T being the prefered. They see very little of passing attack teams. If you don't see it then you don't learn to defend against it. How many teams in this district challenge the wide recievers or bump them at the line. The way to beat a passing team that throws timing playe is to bumt that reciever at the line. That throws off the timing play. You have to disrupt their rythem. Look at Lewis last year. The dominated till they hit the playoffs and had to play the private schools. If you want to win the Gold Ball, your Defense has to be awsome against the run and the pass. With that you can take a great running game and win. It all comes down to defense. That's why Seattle beat denver the way they did last year. Their defense dominated the Broncos.
  22. I think Waverly is playing some good football this year. The new coach there has been able to do something that your previous coach didn't do. He has gotten the school and the county interested in football again and I think that's great. Competation in any sport makes the opponent better which in turn makes your team better. I definately do not dislike Waverly. I had a grandson graduate last year from there, 3 Granddaughters that went to J-ville prior to highschoos and they have friends going to Waverly Highschool. Wavotiger 10 I wish you guys all the luck in the world until Camden comes to your town but you can tell by the points you have been putting up that the teams you have played have had some pretty poor deafenses. Not so with the rest of the season. Everybody you play from hear on in have better defenses than you have seen so far and better offenses as well. The comparison to what you did against East and what the other teams have done is irrelevent. Lewis co lost to to Hickman CO 28-24 and to Camden 40-22. Camden beat Hickman 34-13. Matchups are different with every team you play and believe me your next 4 games are going to be progressively harder than the first 6 you have played. Good luck. I plan on coming to the game at Lewis Friday. Camden is off and I've been wanting to see Waverly play.
  23. Lwis Co at home is hard to beat. Lewis co has a history of winning. Waverly is very much improved this year. Haven't seen Waverly play as of yet. I plan to attend the game at Lewis Co this coming Friday night. RayLewis51 is correct in his statement about the Quality of teams already played and the quality of teams yet to be played. They could get by Lewis but i'm not sure they will but then I didn't think Hickman Co would beat Lewis Co. Waverly has Lewis then Camden, Hickman Co and Fairview the last half of the season. Either one of those 4 teams have the potential to beat Waverly. From what I hear Waverly has a speedy QB and some good quick recievers. Lewis will put the QB to the test so he better be fast. Then Camden will have him running for his life and so will Hickman and Fairview. All of the last 4 teams will collapse Waverleys offensie line. Now that does'nt mean Waverly will lose. Matchups are different with every team. Would not venture to pick this game either way. Good luck to both teams. I pray for a good hard fought contest with no injuries.
  24. Very good post Beagle and totally correct.
