  1. They are both ready to play as is Edwards.Should be a great game at the Ridge.
  2. Admirals wont be #1 after the voters see what Dobyns Bennett does to Oak Ridge, look real forward to seein you guys playoff time, Good luck this wk though saw Bearden play last wk Young is for real but like you all have been sayin their passing game is weak and so is their secondary for that matter, but see u guys in Nov. /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
  3. Well he could have actually played against Bearden, but too bad for you all we didnt even need him, Bearden is WEAK this year, one man show thats it Farragut will stack the box and beat the bulldogs by 30
  4. The kid is, was, and will be a great running back. But Beardens line has to be credited also because there was some good blocking going on for him against a good DB defense.Give credit were credit is due.
  5. DB by 10 points, best DB offense ive seen in some time and still without sensabough, who is predicted to play against Oak Ridge. But put that with watsons Defense and this is a special team.
  6. Bearden just got whopped 2night, score could have easily been 48-0 had to settle for 2 field goals and also db had 2 turnovers and i dont know what it is about the redzone but GC just goes brain dead its ridiculous. But take away 2 plays and bearden didnt do anything, yeah that young is a great player but reggie bush are you serious? the way he runs reminds me alot of sterling from faragut last year, but hey we have some good soph. talent also #3 steele has made huge plays already this season and you didnt even see the #42 rated soph in the NATION chris sensabough was on the sideline with a hurt arm.
  7. So loaded they went scoreless through regulation, please if sensabough had been moved up for that game Crawford at QB DB wins conf. last year, but anyways where are you hearing that Justin isnt playin waco?cause i heard he can run just cant cut well and his ankle is getting better by the day, need him out there in a bad way cause we all know this game is way more important than the trip to Oak Ridge next wk.
  8. If this game is officiated correctly DB by 28, if they are typical knoxville refs DB by 14. No winning the region this year on a fluke play!!!
  9. Justin Slyvester is a go for the Bearden game, sensabough is questionable, but that being the case with justin back DB wins this one, outscored their opponents 84-19 in the first 2 games, this RB may be tough Bearden has but im tellin you right now hes not gaining more than 150 all purpose yards on DB's defense this team is no carter or west. Also 2 games have went by that DB hasnt had to show any thing on offense. Crawford and A.Adams look to have good rhythm and timing in the passing game, but as long as our O line keeps dominating we may never need to throw.
  10. WB has two really good athletes, their rb is really quick and elusive and their middle lb is a highly touted prospect, but this is a different team than DB played last yr, they lost quite a bit of starters but it will def. be a closer game than last night, even though CS went down Slyvester showed he can step it up big time, and one of the best things about stompin TN high was that clark didnt even have 2 show half the playbook, the bootlegs, the rollouts with Crawford and we still put up 42 points, our offense gained some confidence last night, i really hope this carries over into the WB game.
  11. Ha your crazy man i watched the tape, and that was against 1st teamers, yeah you all got in the backfield quite a bit but my goodness it was Powell Valley and when pinkston didnt get hit as soon as he got the hand off the vikings D had a tough time with him, missed tackles etc..., so yea imagine what CS and Crawford will do.
  12. Where is all this coming from that Crawford doesnt have an arm or doesnt see his receivers? I hope stubbs actually believes this. Because u went to the very first scrimmage against Halls??? Get out of here Cap, I cant wait till Jamie launches a deep one 2 Ashlon or Slyvester early in the game we'll see about that arm, much better that Canty ever thought about being and ive seen him go against Crawford since middle school and still hasnt beat him yet. We couldnt throw the ball against TN high last yr and thats because the wrong QB was in, dont think for a second Bartt Ring ( last yr's QB ) was better than Crawford and that gives u an edge this year because it doesnt, this offense will put up atleast 28 points against that weak D, and yeah they are weak just happened to see the Powell Valley tape and pinkston was running all over you all, so get ready to have about 300 yards on the ground ran against that so called " great " vikings defense. You all have one play maker #31 thats it!!! DB- 28 Vikings - 10
  13. Ron Bliss has done a great job with this current issue of the magazine IMO.It has a lot of info of past and current players and teams.Where else can u get a magazine with the front page with the school of ur choice? Also $5 goes to the school.Ron works all year gathering info. on teams. If u haven't noticed he has recruited Bucky Dent from the Bristol paper writing articles.Tri-Cities Sports is a first class act and so is the magazine.
  14. DB didnt really wake up til after maryville put 2 scores on them, but from what i saw DB's offense moved the ball pretty well against the 1st stringers but two costly turnovers kept us from scoring, one of those was a CS fumble at the goal line after a very good drive, needs to learn to get a little lower in goal line situations, and the other was by Crawford at around maryvilles 35, made a good run, did a spin move and looked like the defender put his head right on the ball and knocked it out but this came after another long DB drive. But overall i wouldnt say our offense was all that bad, DB sputtered some but we did move the ball against a good team. Stat wise i would say CS prob. ran for around 70 yards or so,ran hard and plowed some ppl along the way, Crawford ran the ball great on the options i would guess he was around 100 yards rushing during the scrimmage and scored our only td with the 1st team O, looked decent throwin the ball but room to improve, the O line struggled a bit i thought but maryville did have a big strong Dline. Just to add Ashlon Adams saw limited action and his first play was a td pass from roop that was called back, he also had another grab, hes gonna look good opposite side of slyvester. Now DB's 1st team defense i thought looked a lil rusty, maybe just an off night, but maryville was bustin big runs anytime they wanted on us, watson was as fired up as ive ever seen him down there on the sideline, DB looked like they had never seen an option be4, there were plenty of missed tackles, ppl out of position, and a couple blown coverages ( I just dk about these 2 soph. corners ) one resulting in a td pass. Looked like they were tryin out #40 at right OLB and he was out of position a couple times that hurt, but honestly its not like we got our butts whooped but i still see plenty to improve on to get ready for TN high. Anyone else that was there add more into detail.
  15. you guys are crazy thinkin this is ur year to beat DB, this is a way different team than you played last year, much more athletic in in the skill positions, and TN high has yet to meet chris sensabaugh. DB 28 TN High 10
  16. I would say chris runs in the 4.5 4.6 range hes looks trimmer and in better shape this yr and i would bet running track helped his burst alot, but like someone else said when the kid is on the field with adenaline pumpin he can run with anyone, his biggest strength is the power he gets when he lowers his shoulder and how fast he does it with such force thats why he breaks so many tackles, defenders are waitin for the juke instead they get creamed by that right shoulder. Anyone know who Ernie Simms is? well he was the number one recruit coming out of highschool as a RB, he was the lions first round pick 2 yrs ago at outside LB so yea colleges like to turn RB's into LB's. Too early to be talkin about which colleges will come see him play, maybe around the last game or 2 you will see some recruiters but not major D1 schools until next yr. I think this yrs team will be alot faster than last year, lets see CS in the 4.5 range, steele looks like hes right there with CS, slyvester when hes not nursing a high ankle sprain can run in the 4.6 range, and dont forget about crawford hes easily a 4.5 4.6 guy too and thats the QB.
  17. I hope your right because this 08' team is really counting on some younger players to step up and play well to spell some of the kids that will be playing both ways, which from the looks of it will probably be around 9 or 10 atleast. Eager to see how our O line looks with Church and Bateman leading the way, also curious to see what kind of formations GC has come up with this offseason, im guessing mostly " I " with CS and Lawson in the backfield with the occasional shotgun, if we can get the running game going early it will def. set up for the playactions, and naked bootlegs GC should run, with arguably the fastest QB thats came through DB in recent years, and GC has to get Crawford movin out of the pocket, this team cant afford for him 2 get hurt.
  18. Have fun trying to tackle Greenway from Greenville this year, saw him last wk and hes atleast 250 and overheard him telling some1 that they are ready for south this year. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  19. Even with DB being a running team with an option QB in Crawford, our passing game is still as strong as souths if not stronger, rumor is that Crawford hasnt even been throwin football until last wk because hes been traveling playing baseball while Davenport has been goin to football camps all summer long and there isnt much difference between the 2 except for about 20 pounds, slyvester has picked up the WR role well and looks to be our main target in the passing game, Jordan edwards has good size out wide but needs some more work to get better, Sensabough catches the ball very nicely coming out of the backfield and is gonna be a load to tackle in the open, one of the surprises so far from the 7 on 7's is our punter joe doran makin nice grabs from the WR position and he also has good size at around 6'4, throw in a speedy derrick steele and we have a pretty solid offense even though i havent seen our line but from what i can tell we are going to score alot more points than we did last yr, now for defense our secondary has some work to do, looks like slyvester is at safety, steele possibly at one corner and at the other i think it was #22,also looks like crawford will see some time at corner or safety in passin downs or special situations, but so far that seems to be the only knock on DB is the secondary and that can be fixed during two a days, thats just what ive seen so far from the 7 on 7's.
  20. the turf gets really hot, so yes it does radiate the heat, this coming from the baseball players.
  21. Havent heard any names about attending Nike camps, obviously since Jamie wasnt QB last yr he didnt get many invites as a QB to some of the top summer camps, but GC always sends the QB's to either furman or wake forest for a weekend plus they usually have 7 on 7's against Byrnes,Sc down there which is far better competition than anyone around here. I would say Crawford is tied up in baseball until July anway, i would love to hear about slyvester going to some football camps this summer, he can be a big play Wr for us this year, its very important to get our passing game going early this year, to avoid teams stacking 8 in the box to stop chris.
  22. I understand where your coming from Teepee, I'm just saying we have upcoming seniors that have never been on a football field, never touched a weight, walk right out there and immediately be on the team. What if its 150 next yr then 200 the next, have to draw the line sometime.
  23. One of these days GC is going to have to make cuts, this 120 man roster is getting ridiculous and expensive i understand if a kid practices every day in the summer and during season they should have a spot on the team absolutely, but about 25-30 of these kids are just out there going through the motions to say they were on the team, and the coaches know who they are, and they should cut them bottom line, stop letting some of these kids waste their time when they are never gonna have a chance to play, and let them learn and explore other activites that they can really be a part of. Ne wayz the kid that moved in here from NC that was gonna take Crawfords position (LOL), where is he playin and what number is he wearing???
  24. Im not throwin south under the bus or anything, but im tired of hearin how great south will be every year and always have south supporters coming on here to tell us about it. If we were playing you all i might care but since stacy was tired of gettin his butt kicked i dont, every now and then a great player moves into this region and fortunate enough he landed in souths lap. We play good programs in Oak Ridge, Bearden, and schedule good non conference games like William Blount even MBA in yrs past, while south plays all the weak local teams around here and runs its up on them, then only has to beat Greenville to advance to the semis, we dont care get over it, you wanna win some respect talk stacy into a scrimmage this summer.
