I will agree with SPEAR24. You should of rested your fingers and continued. Let me start by saying that what Im about to say is in no way calling for a coaching change. What I would like to see is the entire coaching staff get their head out of their u-no-what. Thats "THE ENTIRE COACHING STAFF". The interview with Clark after the Clinton game was embarresing. Lets whine about 3 penilties (Clinton had 11) as if that cost us the win. And lets tell a few Mayberry jokes. And lets talk about how your happy that the players were still fighting at the end. Good Grief! This is Dobyns-Bennett Football. We're not supposed to be happy just because our guys were still fighting at the end. And there are people on here talking about the team improving from game one. Our defense gave up 496 yards. Come on people. If I had a player like James Brown for three years and couldn't make a top notch defensive back out of him then I need to be working in the shoe department at JC Penney's, not trying to coach high school football. Did anybody ever find out who the strenth coach is at DB? Our players arms look like noodles compaired to other teams. I don't think you could do a better job of destroying a football program if you tried. What really gets my goat (not a Mayberry joke) is that at one time this was the best staff in the state in my opinion. And if you really do your reserch SPEAR24 is correct. It started in the 2004 playoff game against Oak Ridge. Just really dumb play calling and game prep. Another contributing factor is the terrible coaching at the two middle schools. The poor tackling that you are seeing this year is where that comes from. Their supposed to be teaching that stuff in middle school. These boys don't know how to tackle. Its that simple. I went to the freshman game last thursday night and it was the same story. In the Sevier game last Tuesday night both the 7th and 8th grade teams lost 38-0 and 28-0. They couldn't tackle anybody. Their head coach is a DB graduate and he's so loyal to the system he sent his own son to South. Where he set a new passing record Friday night by the way. If you send your own son to one of the county schools do you think he might stear other players away fro DB to. Im telling you something smells here. We can complain about the newspaper coverage all we want. They never picked up a first down for DB ever. Who cares what they think, And Tom Taylor is a nice guy and the best play by play man in the state but he never scored a point for DB. I said two years ago that this AD we have now would destroy all sports at DB just like he destroyed the basketball program and that will happen. He is the reason we don't have Tom Taylor calling DB games now. What needs to happen now is this. Be sure you have a good program in the little leagues. (It needs some work) Get the kids interested in playing football again. Hire new coaches at the middle schools that can actually teach players the basics of blocking and tackleing. The coaching staff at DB needs to start working for that big pay check their getting. Hire a top notch strength and conditioning coach. This is a football team not a cross country running team. This deal didn't happen over night. We need to stop the bleeding right now. Now to close out this rant. All you DB fans need to stop talking like we're going to run all over Central. I don't see that happening. I don't see any for sure wins on the schedule the rest of the way. Central smells blood in the water and we'll see their best game. Oh and as all of you get all hot and bothered about what I just posted., Go ahead and print this post and put it on the wall. If these changes don't take place your looking at losing seasons being common with this program. Hey Wack-Off Jack-Off. thanks for everything you say man. it really helps us players want to go out and work hard every day for terrible fans like you. first off i thank the good lord every single night for coach clarks optimism he wants us to become actual men in our lives not EX high school football players such as yourself. another thing to answer this for everyone james brown doesnt play because he doesnt show up to weights or practice sometimes. and when he is there he messes up frequently. another thing, coach brian barrett is our strength and condtioning coach. he is another one i thank god for every night, once again if the players actually did the program (like me) they would look like a player (like me) but some of my teammates just have a hard time focusing. so its not his fault its ours. and how is it bad play calling when my teammate and my good friend david roop misses 2 or 3 wide open passes in the game? not coach clarks fault he had the play set up perfect roop just missed them. as for our middle school programs i went through RNR and i can tell you it was probably the most fun ive ever had in my life playing football. who gives 2 craps if we win or lose or miss tackles i had a blast. and at the end of the day ITS MIDDLE SCHOOL! whoop dee do. at the end of the day i couldnt hand pick a coaching staff that i would want more other than coach clarks staff. now i could go pick a ton of fans better than you bashing our staff. they work harder than you will ever work at your anderson ford job. they give it everything they got and at the end of the day they put us in position to win every game. we (the players) kill ourselves all the time its not like coaches tell us to go get penalties and miss passes or miss tackles and blocks. at the end of the day we need to focus as a team and we will. if you went to practice today youd think we were undefeated because of the optimism coach clark has taught us!!! not the hang your head we suck attitude like you. we have several loyal fans but my favorite and fan of the year for life is Mr Ricker. i wish everybody was as loyal and optimistic as him. take notes wack-off.

well they have some returning starters but personally i think DB will have the better team...who do you think the best players will be in the conference?

ya thats what i head too...SH will always be tough but suppossedly DB went to clemson this summer and played against some good competition...many ppl are underestimating them but look for them to do good...i also heard a freshman might be moving up...a guard im pretty sure but he sounds pretty good from what ive heard

I think they will do just fine this yr...obviously, Darius D. and Adam D. will be the two leaders of this team but look for jujuan j. at wing and tyler a. to show up this year..Also Derrick S. and others will come off the bench...what do you think about it?

thats what i heard too...he is a great young man and always played as hard as he could at all times..he will be missed but I think other ppl will step up..I have a feeling that DB is going to be better than ppl think they will be.

SH will be young but i dont think they will be competitive enough through the season..too young but by next year they should be at the top no doubt...it will be a close race throughout the year..i hope to see lots of new faces step up this year

I was at practice today everything seemed to go good. the team worked hard and scrimmaged a bit, good news on the day... roop didnt get killed . Im hoping the team picks things up friday. also, today at practice, did anyone else see wacojaco there? or was it just me

We did awesome. We went 9-0 and won it all. Elizabethton thought they should be on the same field as us for the championship...we showed them real quick how it is. Coach Witten for them is a flat out punk. He talked more garbage than anyone on the team. But all in all good day. Roop threw well. Sean Seabolt Derrick Steele Rusty Clark Raffe Cleary and Slaughter were absoleutely awesome on offense. Hardly any drops defense played lock down from the time they got off the bus until they got back on. All in all we had a great day.

No sir. He is 6' 5" and is all of 280. He came to his first workout monday. Dude can play. His name is Krey Beard. He's from Nashville. And he is solid. Coach Clark told me yesterday though that he's working all of his transcript stuff out but he should be eligible.

I hear they have a few players from just about everywhere around the tri cities...a few from DB, a few from SH, also from Eliz., and other small schools. Suppossedly they have blown out teams in the small tournaments around the tri cities but gotta wait and see how they do in out of town tournaments. Sounds like they have themselves a team.

good kid who has been playing ball for his whole life and would love the chance to play for a travel team somewhere in east tennessee. 6'3"-6'4" range and plays the 2 or 3 spot on the floor

thats true...CS is older than alot of sophmores...he got held back

im being serious...i watched him practicing yesterday...and the classes that are coming up arent weak...there average...there definitely not bad...its just that everyone is used to the class last year...that class is one of the best classes that has come through DB in a while.

just to let you know...Chris Sensabaugh is not with the junior varsity he has been practicing running the ball behind hogg during practice with the Varsity...

thats true...but there are 3 or 4 kids that dont play football that just play basketball and that are good athletes that can play but arent out there...devon sylvester is good one too..

trevor mcnew is a good athlete and the young players coming up for DB are pretty athletic...about the sophmores at DB...they have athletes..just not playin football..i know i know it doesnt matter now im just saying about the athleticism of them..

true...DB's offense has to pick it up if they want to go anywhere in the playoffs this year...the defense has held them in the games so far this season..

Dobyns Bennett for sure...after the three very close losses they have suffered..they wont lose again..
