  1. Columbia dodged a bullet in this one! (Several bullets really). Game was owned by DC throughout, but they couldn't finish it.... Way too many turnovers. Either way, Great game both ways and it was good competition for both teams as they head into district play.
  2. Dickson Co. 38 Independence 14....First half (First string). DCHS 17 Indy 7
  3. if i was a betting man old strongside sounds like an asst. coach that followed jones over the cliff and still cant land a coaching job any where . must be because of his great back ground of 1 and 19. or hes in it for the money and the school he works at is broke. its ok though east soccer will win without you. Good for you putting two and two together! I wasn't trying to hide my identity like some folks choose to do on here. I do wish East Soccer the best of luck and I am sure they will win without me. They have some good kids and those kids know that I think that of them. I do know that whoever you are obviously don't know me and have something against me for some strange reason. Why you have something against me is beyond my knowledge, but to clear up the air I am still coaching football despite my experiences as a coach at East Hickman and Coach Jones and I never went off a cliff, it was more like we chose to leave (or jump off the cliff!).
  4. Easteaglemom17, It looks like you have joined the ranks of the elite Hickman Co. CoachT Coaches! Way to show your support of the team and set an example to your kid by calling his coach a "moron"! That is exactly what the parent of a football player should do! Its easy for you to hide behind your screen name and call coaches "morons", but it seems to me the only ones who look like morons are people like you and eagleheart for trying to correct football coaches, when the two of you couldn't explain explain the concepts of a 3-3 stack defense or the basis for the Tony Franklin Spread Offense. Those words sound like greek to you, dont they? Thats because you aren't a coach. I will agree to some extent with you on the Phillips being a "moron" to an extent...And I am positive that he'd agree with the comment I'm about to make...He feels like a moron for being in Hickman County and not leaving with the other coaches last season (thats the only moronic thing I'd say about him)! Heck, now I feel like a moron for even commenting to people like you and eagleheart.
  5. it kind of looks that way considering they only gave the ball once to #22 in the second half, and kept there whole D-line in the bear crawl. Sounds like a Phillips call the way they tried to make one kid the hero was clear to everyone. Someone needs to pull there head out and worry about winning, instead of trying to make this all about one kid. dont get me wrong this kid is good but not at this position , he should be doing some lead blocking and more on defence. Again....This is great input by one of the great coaches in Hickman Co. Eaglelombardi...I mean eagleheart, your expansive knowledge of football and schematic understanding of the game truly shows when you post comments! It is truly evident that your understanding of the game of football far surpasses that of the coaching staff, especially Phillips. Maybe you should make a call to Nash and have him appoint you as DC for the rest of the season and then since you are obviously all about the whole team, you can make sure you change the Eagle's Coaching staffs mindset about being only about one kid! Because it is clear and I am sure that the EH coaching staff is obviously only out to make one kid look good as opposed to winning games! That is their purpose every game! That was their thinking olast year too...It had to be! Eaglelombardi...I mean Eagleheart, do us all a favor (and yourself) and stop posting. You make the county look bad and you clearly aren't making yourself look any wiser. Go back to your madden game or fantasy football and coach those teams. Leave the real coaching to coaches who understand the game of football.
  6. This is hilarious! From my past experiences with the community it seems as nothing has changed. The Vince Lombardis and Bear Bryants of the county still love to do the coaching and monday morning quarterbacking on CoachT. The complaints about the bear crawls are what is truly funny! I would bet money that those companing about the crawling have no idea what that technique is used for! Eagleheart and the other knowledgable defensive coaches would have preferred if the D-Line would have used all of their "Size, Speed, and Athletic Ability" to get in the back field and make plays against a "smaller, less athletic offensive line"!!!! I think that Eagleheart and the rest of the community defensive coordinators should put on a clinic on Defensive line technique in a 5-3 defense and present it to the Eagles coaching staff! That would be some GREAT MATERIAL! This is great....I knew that even after Matt Jones left the situation with the support wouldn't change! I truly don't understand what these fans expect. The Eagles have already surpassed the expectations of knowledgeable football spectators! You can see the improvement if you have kept up with this rivarly (Year one - 49-7 blowout...Year two - A close game for two quarters in a 35-0 loss... and year three a very close 22-20 game!!!) Despite what the Lombardis and the Bryants of the community think about the Eagle Coaching Staff, the numbers don't lie! These guys are doing a heck of a job with the talent they have and the teams they play! Good Job Eagles! And despite what the community may think of the Defensive Coordinator, he is doing a heck of a job!
  7. Trey, I understand your frustration. Keep your head up. You obviously did something to deserve the award or you wouldn't have got it. I know how people can be in that community. Some people want all the glory, when its not about that. I wish you guys the best of luck this week and all season. Keep stirring the chili! Tell the other guys to keep it up and let C. Phillips know that I am keeping up with the tackles between him and Frazier. -Coach B
  8. WayneSoccer...I'm not making excuses for east!!! i'm a CA fan. Pay attention to my previous post and the thread as a whole, not an individual post! Don't post things you clearly don't know about. I was just stating a fact, not an excuse for a team I'm not a fan of. I just stated that with that starter they could beat Perry Co. as bad as they wanted, and apparantly they did (11-0).Your season is over, CA's and EH's are not...it seems like you are the one complaining and whining!
  9. As expected...EH vs. CA in the finals (with both moving on to the Region). From watching both matches last night, I feel CA still has the upper hand and should come away with the district. I heard East was missing a key defensive starter and that made them look really suspect on D against Zion, who put up many shots on goal. I was surprised that Zion possessed the ball as much as they did against East. I saw some of the first half and all of the second, but from what I saw there was no support for the offense for East from their midfield. Their midfield was playing back most of the night. If that happens against CA, there is no way they will put up points. But who knows. Maybe EH didn't play their best match of the year, they looked tired in the second half. EH didn't sub much. CA looked very strong in the second half and scored off some set pieces during their match. If the defense plays like they did last night and our midfield controls possession, I see us beating East. My prediction for the Finals CA 3 EH 1. I should be a great match (I hope the rain holds off a bit!)
  10. Will he be playing in tonight's match?
  11. Who was playing a starter down? Is that why Hickman Co. lost? Thats tough if thats so. Or are you talking about East Hickman? If EH were playing a man down, they will look very good with that starter playing (assuming it was a key starter). Were they at full strength when they played Zion in the regular season?
  12. I have to agree with that. I was surprised to see Zion beat Giles! I don't think they have much of a shot tonight, but I could be wrong. I saw the first half of EH's match last night because they played after the CA game. They are impressive. It was like 6-0 at half with several subs in the game (grant it, it was Perry Co.!). I am a CA fan, but I'm nervous about having to play EH in the finals (If they both make it to the finals). They were on their game last night and they seemed to be at full strength. We played well in the first half. We made some defensive mistakes in the second half to let Wayne back in it, but I do believe that we should take care of Richland tonight. That Richland-Hickman match was a shocker. What happened there??? Kinda makes me a little nervous.
  13. Well, I was wrong from my previous post...TONIGHT is the night (not Friday!). The weather has held off for the most part today and all teams should have decent conditions to play in (not the best and a little wet). I heard that the EH and Perry match will be at C.A. after the C.A. match. Is that true??? If so, I would assume its because the EH field conditions. I stand firm by my predictions and I still feel that East Hickman, CA, Giles, and Hickman will be moving on!
  14. Only 5-0! Thats not an "only" type score! I do believe they were missing a starter that game. I just feel that EH is definately good enough to beat Perry Co. 8-0...Heck, I've seen both teams play and I do feel that they could probably beat P.C. as bad as they wanted. No offense to you if you are from P.C., but you guys have to play your best game to score a goal. Who knows though, it may only be 5-0! I did hear that game was cancelled and moved to Monday and I do believe the C.A. game has been moved to Monday as well. It looks like everyone will play their first round game monday.
  15. Well, tonights the night! I guess all of the matches will be played despite the we conditions. If you know anything else, keep us updated. The best match of the night should be the Zion vs. Giles match. The Richland vs. HC match should be interesting as well. I don't think the score of that one will be the same as the last time they met (still think HC comes out on top). Predictions: Wayne 0 - C.A. 6 Perry Co. 0 - E.H. 8 Richland 2 - H.C. 3 Giles 1 - Zion 0 (THIS ONE COULD GO EITHER WAY!)
  16. Should be a good match, but I'm going to go with Giles here. Although from what I've seen Giles is suspect on Defense, but I think they will show up offensively and get a close win. I predict 2-1 Giles.
  17. Should be a great tournament with some close matches. I agree with those predictions. I think if these do come true then the second round matches will be very close. In the end, I feel that CA will prevail. I thought that they may play EH, but EH must get past Giles, who beat them in the second round last year. The second round seems to be rematches of last season. Who knows how they will turn out. It should be fun to spectate! Is the player from EH who was out for the CA game back from the Red Card suspension? If so, they should be tough in the post-season. I heard he was a key player for the team.
  18. / First round (quarterfinals) are played at the higher seed the semi-finals and finals will be played at CA. Seeds that are known: 1. EHHS 2. CA 3. ? 4.? 5. ? 6. ? 7. Wayne 8. Loretto 9. Perry Co. (Loretto and Perry Co. play in a play in game for the 8th seed)
  19. With that being known, I guess we'll have to wait for the District Tournament brackets to be fully set. I did hear earlier that East Hickman and C.A. are the top two seeds (don't know which one is first or second, b/c of the tie) and Wayne Co, Loretto, and Perry Co. are the bottom three seeds. I think seeds 3-6 will be determined after that game on Tuesday. Who knows how the seeding will work out, but I am pretty confident that the top two seeds will meet in the end! Tournament begins Friday.
  20. I do believe that this past Friday's match between East Hickman and Columbia Academy settled the argument about the top teams in District 12 A/AA. The match was fairly even most of the way, with EH taking a 1-0 lead to halftime. C.A. came back to tie the match with about 5 min. to go on a PK (their second in 1 min!...They missed the first). Although my son plays for CA and I'm a CA fan, I do feel that EH has a very strong team and honestly, they probably should have beat us. I will admit that the call that gave us the second PK was a pretty bad call...but, hey its High School Soccer... You aren't guaranteed the best officials! I can only expect that these two teams will dominate their way into the District Finals to meet for a rematch. I can only hope it will be as exciting as Friday's match (best game I've seen in a long time!). I've seen every team in the district and BY FAR there are not two teams as good as CA or EH. If there are, they need to prove it in the District Tournament.
  21. NO90...have you seen the district score board??? You obviously have not! Didn't Giles get blown out by C.A.? Has C.A. had a loss in the district? Has East Hickman had a loss in the district? Neither of those teams have lost a district game! How could my money not be placed on them? Every other team in the district has at least 2 losses! I don't foresee either of these teams having two district losses at the end of the regular season. Tonight's match between the two will definately be a preview of the District Finals...Book it! It will be a fun one to watch! As stated in another post, I think CA may have a little too much for EH, but we'll see. Also, I heard EH is down a starter because of a Red Card? Anyone know of this? Thats unfortunate, I would have liked to see an even match tonight, but I still think it will be competitive?
  22. I'm a little biased towards this game, considering my son plays for C.A., but I do know a little bit about East Hickman (as you probably know from my previous posts... thanks to a good source). I think it will be a great match, but because of my biased opinion, I think CA will pull this out...but by far, these two are the best teams in the district. I think if anyone who knows anything about soccer, they would tell you the same! Just check the scoreboards for both these teams...that speaks for itself! C.A....I'm counting on you! As for the kid from Wayne...I do believe you are in the bottom half of the district...East Hickman and CA are in the top half....How could you possibly think that your team is better than either of these teams??? Did Wayne defeat either of these teams?
  23. For the record WayneSoccer, East Hickman had 25 shots on goal to your team's 5!!! The ball was in EHHS's possession 95% of the game! They got past your defense! They scored two goals! They would have scored plenty more but that is the way soccer goes. You gotta put the ball in the net. Because you're apparantly new to CoachT (from your profile) I will give you some advice: You play for Wayne Co....not really the soccer metropolis of the world...Not too many people truly care how you did and you have no right to come on here and talk smack about a team that is cleary 2-3 Times better than you!
  24. Aubie...I don't know what soccer matches you've witnessed this season in District 12 A/AA, but C.A. and East Hickman are head and shoulders better than the rest of the district. I know CA tied Hickman Co., but believe me that would not happen again! CAdomintated most of the game and made a few mistakes to let Hickman tie the score. I also know East Hickman tied Wayne Co...That was a joke! I've never witnessed a game like that. East Hickman controlled the entire game and played 95% of that game on the attack with probably 20-30 shots on goal to about 5 for Wayne Co! If not for a few defensive mistakes, Wayne would not have scored. I do believe it would be an entirely different outcome if the two teams played again! I would also say Richland is a strong team in the district this season. But if I were to bet, my money would be on CA or East Hickman for the district, with no consideration for other teams to win it!
  25. I was at a match last night in which this issue came into play. After a loss, an angry player stormed onto the middle of the field to verbally abuse the officials (how the kid didn't get a red card is beyond me). I saw the coach come after him. I was thinking that the coach would calm his players down and control his actions, but I was wrong! The coach joined in the parade as well! He completely embarassed himself and his school by his actions. It was a classless display! Why the two were upset is beyond me. I guess in today's time, its hard to take responsibility for your actions, so you always want to shift blame on someone else. The player and coach didn't want to own up to the fact they got beat (and beat pretty bad!!! They were dominated) so they looked to shift blame to the officiating, which in all honestly was not that bad. With coaches setting that example for players, its hard for players to see how it ought to be done, which is fess up to getting beat, improve upon that, and play another game! With the best officials in the state, the game would have ended up in a loss for that team. That behavior by that player was totally unacceptable and should not be tolerated. The behavior of the coach was unacceptable as well, and I guess he's made himself and his program look "classless"...But I agree with the first post...Coaches should hold players accountable to their behavior on (and off) the field, not officials.
