  1. well good job bearden.. i am not sure what happened.. thats not the same wb team i have watched all year. and whoever said that tyler is on a different planet than halliday, is a moron.. thats the worst game he has played in 2 years.. bearden you have a good team.. no doubt.. you have one player that makes your win pretty ugly.. #85.. why did you have to run your mouth and make gestures to the cheerleaders at wb when you were up by 30 points?? man you sure are tough... i guess thats why you fell down on that last punt return.. i think someone got skeerd /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> ... your football team has pride and alot of it.. dont be a turd, and you looked like a jacka@# when you did that..... it made me want to play again.... well this will be my last post forever so dont bother even commenting on it... its the truth though.. enjoy this, you might have 2 games left maybe.. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  2. i could be way out of line here... and i might be wrong.. but i look at region 2 compared to region 1 and i must say after seeing region 1 teams i do believe that the region 2 teams are stronger... i think of region 1 and 2 like the SEC.. there are 3 teams and possibly 4 that could be #1 but they beat each other... now on a different note... i am for sure that the bearden defense has not faced an offense like wb's other than farragut... most of you will agree... from watching them week in and week out. i really feel that they could almost score at will...now i am only going with that thought from the maryville and farragut games... but i feel that thought is legit, however it is an opinion... now on to the thought of the db's that are track stars... who really cares... what does that mean to the football game... what they are fast.... or can run a mile in under 5 min... football? track? two different sports... anybody can run in a designated lane.. what about getting off blocks or making an open field tackle?? now i do not know these kids, and i am not degrading their personal level of play.. i just dont really think that being a track star is going to matter in the game of football other than speed.... this will be a great game no doubt about it.. its a shame that one of these great teams have to lose by playing each other.. WB 24-10 defense will be the difference...
  3. I guess this the the part where I should wish the Govs good luck next week at Bearden. Sorry, but I can't be a hypocrite. The Bulldogs are in our region and have a class program. In addition, their OC is a former Jacksboro Middle School coach who is a class act. The Govs coaching staff pulled an Urban Meyer on the Cougars by throwing the ball deep downfield with less than 5 minutes to go with a 21-0 lead . . . like the Gaytors, I hope the Governors get what's coming to them. Call me a sore loser, but that last drive was in poor taste with the game already decided. i wonder if this guy ever thought of this... well the WB offense didnt exactly mesh to well the first half. Its playoff time, and i need them to start peaking... not trying to be rude, but sorry your team was do by 21 points but in that situation you have to do what you have to do... the Wb coaching staff has never tried to run up the score IMO... you do what you have to do to win... and the next game matters.. i will give you this, your defense is much better than what we have seen.. WB had to get back into sync...
  4. DB has a chance if they do drills all week on how to tackle sterling..
  5. yea man your right maryville and farraguts defense's are horrible.... i dont know how we scored on them...
  6. well here is my two cents. its hard to play at bearden. i remember playing there in 00'. yea bearden has been through alot and one hates to hear what happened.. it should be a good game. i see people on here posting stats and things about how they have allowed 10 points in like 20 qtrs and INT's and rushing yards.. well yes that is great and they deserve the credit for all of that. quite a resume if i say so my self.... however it does not matter anymore... govs this week you have to play lights out and lay everything you got on the line.... like TB said in the paper, your playing for more than your team and yourself.. you guys are playing for every WB football grad and anyone who has anything to do with that school. your team is special... all of us want you to bring this home.. players just ask your two freshman coaches who played at WB with me.. they will tell you what it means to them... remember do not, i repeat do not make this your last, you will never forget it... get focused this week.. i realize that you really hadnt had to in the past 3 weeks, i was the same way... dont let it slip away... defense hit them in the mouth and shut them out... offense get the ball and on the first drive score, get the ball back and score some more. like the old coach used to say stick the daggar in their heart and then twist it all the way around....... we are behind everyone of ya.... good luck boys.....
  7. etcoach i was just giving you a hard time!!! i realize heritage is playing much better, i still think that the defense of the govs will dismantle the mountaineers offense. thats what i think!!!
  8. i know that your not blind.. your just being nice... how do you really feel about it? you can tell us
  9. wb should win this one big just like the last. wb by 30 points or more. i just dont think that heritage has the offense or defense to hang with the govs. in my own opinion i dont think heritage will 100 yards on the ground or through the air combined. the governor defense is to fast. walker and gordley will create havoc in the backfield, the linebackers will clean up the run, and the secondary..... well they will do what they always do.... intercept the ball... whats the stats? like 20 or more int's in 9 games. i look for don, brad, tyler, or gray to have a few more friday... i look for the governors defense to pitch another shutout. wb 49-0.
  10. ok guys lets try not to bash the other team to bad. yes WB should win this one no doubt and i expect some subs to have some playing time. however these kids have to stay focused on the job at hand and prepare for the playoffs. they still must come out and execute on both sides of the ball. i talked to some of the players after the maryville game and they thought that farragut was going to be a cake walk the next week. my own brother even said that practice that week was not to great... well we all saw what happened... i dont think the best team won that game, i think many more would agree. however guys stay focused, get better, nothing in region 2-5a comes easy.. good luck and c-ya on senior night....
  11. ok well here is my take on it. i know that mcminn has struggled in the past but they are an up an coming football team. no doubt about it. i know that they play very phisical football. however, if wb has the performance on defense that it has had all year(excluding the farragut game) then i pick the i will have to go with the govs. and yes tservies mcminn has a beautiful complex to play on friday nights.... go govs.
  12. i used to have respect for OR, but when you beat people by 35 or more points and you still have you 1st team in during the 4th qtr, then thats when i throw it out the window. should have put 11 in the box over the center bet they would have come out then, i would have.... someone has got something to prove!!!!you know what is so great about wb football? no matter how good they play or how many games they win, their are still those rediculous people out there that never give them a chance. well this must be WB of old. lost 2 in a row by 1 point and one was questionable on a field goal that still gets replayed on the news. dont worry about it govs, your still my team. and i still think your the best team in the region you just havent got some breaks. but what do i know? i am just the guy up in the stands that has no clue about football and gets on here to pass the time away. one must look around and realize the region they are in(along with everyone else in the region) and say man thats the hardest region in east tn and maybe the state. well govs no one is giving you a chance again. imagine that.it was the same way when i played. i think its great. and i hope that you wouldnt want it any other way. OR is a good team no doubt, they always are... stop the running game and its in the bag. tackle like you can on defense and punish the ball carrier every play. they will lay down.....i promise.... good luck WB
  13. well to all, i dont have a chip on my shoulder or will i ever have. i have always been a loyal fan of Wb, and i was a part of the 1999 team that beat the rebels and went on to be the blount county champs. i am sorry if i offended anyone especially starsnbars, i am just proud of my school. however, i am not a new member just have a new name. anyway, this is going to be a great atmosphere for both teams, this is something the kids will never forget, i will always remember playing in front of that many people the night at heritage for the championship in 1999. looking forward to a great game and best of luck to the govs.
  14. Bless your heart Starsnbars, the effort it must take you to talk like that has to be unbearable, i love how you mock WB. Great showmanship and class. I forgot that us poor county folks use horrible english and grammar..
  15. govman, i agee with your post 100%. i am sure that maryville will come up with some scheme to block TJ. Even if they have to put 3 players on him. However, that just turns lose the 2 ilb for the govs defense. i believe that would be lail and garland, if i am correct. i am not sure that some people take in to consideration how much of a factor he is. if he gets lose and gets to the qb early i have often saw the qb trying to find where he is all night. on the otherhand, marville's pass offense is good as always, i firmly believe that if Wb contains that part of their offense, nothing should stand in the way of a W at the end of the night. like you have said before the overall defense of wb has been outstanding the whole year. what ? 2 TDs in 16 Quarters of football. that speaks for itself. i dont care who they have played and what people have said. thats tough to beat in any level of football.
