  1. Certainly hope Harry is not deceased. He should really just be seeing things from an all new perspective now! We need fans like him if the sport wants to succeed.
  2. This should be copied, stickied, and made a requirement for all new posters on ANY wrestling message board.
  3. You are a smart kid but once again should choose your statements more wisely. Did an 8th grader also not win a DI state championship last year? Now if you want to speak to the fact that they have a better shot at starting in DII that might be true because more DII schools are set-up such that the rules allow the 8th graders to compete at the varisty level. Tthere are few DI schools that meet the criteria otherwise you might find a few more starting.
  4. And the coach quoted above might just be one of the most vocal ones . Looking forward to seeing you at BH Ronnie.

Indeed excellent pick-ups for the Mocs. I have really been impressed by how well Coach Bono has recruited the South recently and it appears that he is continuing to get some of the big names out of the South. He keeps this up and the depth in that room is going to be very, very good. As a formeer UTC coach likes to say "steel sharpens steel."
  6. Well if that is the case then you are missing many I have to say. You also need to remember how many different ways someone can be a middle school medalist, you should be a little more specific.
  7. Just to give you a comparison of how tough the Tiger Classic is here are the reults for CBHS in the DII State Individual Tournament those same years: 2003 - 4th 2004 - 6th 2005 - 5th 2006 - 4th I will see if I have time to go back and see where CBHS ranked in the combined state coaches poll during those years as well. I doubt there was a year they weren't in the top 10-12.
  8. Not going to comment on whether the wrestlers will be a factor or not but they definitely won't be a factor in the Div II tournament since they both wrestle for Division I schools...
  9. There are many states that do. It just takes a state organization that is willing to work and most importantly to change... change is the difficult part there. Nobody likes to change but everyone wants things to get better... now how does that happen without going through some change. BTW RMC, enjoyed catching yall's state tourney finals on TV a couple years ago, was a real treat. Hopefully TN can get there again soon, but at least we have DVD's of the finals for now.
  10. If you want a double elimination state tournament it can currently be done in teh same arena, in the same amount of time, with both divisions in place. You just need to use what ends up being the current dead time to do it. The analysis has been done before to show this on this very message board.
  11. There are some that would project him to be an 8th grade finalist... too much pressure if you ask me but Michael is tough and will find out where he stands soon enough. He did represent TN well over the summer though and some late congratulations do go out to him.
  12. Oh no, thread necromancy! Yes we all know Brett is good but that weight certainly has a few other horses in it.
  13. It is also my understanding that we will hold a separate girls state wrestling tournament either this year or next (I do not remember which) and they will be recognized as official TSSAA State Champions. I do like this for the fact that iti s one more step to separating them from the boys and still allowing them to compete. I am all for girls wrestling, I like many others just want it to be against other girls. I can not think of another sport where girls compete against boys and certainly not in a sport as physical and contact oriented as wrestling. The fact that we are likely the most physical sport and the only sport where girls and boys are allowed to intermix really seems to be quite odd to me. Just some other thoughs... now lets see if I kill this thread like I appear to have done to others recently /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  14. Follow this link for a complete wrap-up of the action for the TN wrestlers at the Super 32 this past weekend. Or just head on over to www.tennwrestling.com and check the first entry to get the news.

  16. Man, You see what happens when you provide people with numbers and data... somehow it gets very quiet. Even when the numbers don't tell the full story. I was really hoping some people would be willing to take a bite out of this stuff /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> . But I guess we aren't as hungry as we thought. Either that or the numbers really surprise some.

  18. I was doing a little math the other day and it is posted below: Team_________# Returning Medalists______Points Earned by 2007 Medalists Father Ryan___________ 10_____________________152.5 MBA__________________ 7______________________96 Baylor________________ 5 ______________________89 Brentwood Academy_____ 7______________________88 McCallie_______________ 6______________________78 St. Benedict_____________5______________________68 CBHS_________________ 5______________________67.5 Ensworth______________ 5_______________________49 Webb_________________ 2_______________________35 St. Andrews____________ 1_______________________15 PJP___________________ 1_______________________11 MUS__________________ 1________________________0 BGA__________________ 0________________________0 Briarcrest______________ 0_______________________0 Harding________________ 0_______________________0 St. George_____________ 0_______________________0 I am sure that we can all take these numbers for what they are worth as we know that even though some schools may graduate a lot of points they also may reload better than others. Certainly paints an interesting picture though. Guess the speculation may rest on who can gain more points from new starters coming into the lineup or kids that have improved over the summer.
  19. You are correct, sometimes I miss some information. But I try to get it right. as far as the webmaster comment you are right, hence why it wasn't posted on my site /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> . Be seeing you all around soon!
  20. That is what was sent out from the last coaches' meeting. That definitely doesn't mean that I am not wrong though. I know in the past there had been talk of having the Region Individuals at Arlington. Big gymn and their first senior class makes for a good combination. Also I was looking through BayouBear's post and it looks good from a quick lookover aside from the fact that I think Cayson Stutes from Millington has graduated. I also echo the urge to keep BayouBear posting, definitely needed. And if you all want to correct me come on over to the TWF board and you will get even more chances! Oh and I really have to laugh at Dragon12 being an old fart!
  21. Can't help you on returning qualifiers but based on the first scheduling meeting the region tournaments are as follows: Jan 27 ??“ Region X duals at Arlington Feb. 8 ??“ 9 ??“ Region X Individual at Houston
