I think Bearden has as good a shot as anyone. I mean they played last year's Melrose team to a close game the whole game. At one point they were winning in the 3rd quarter, and they led most of the first half. They ultimately lost the game to the eventual state champions; however, you cannot tell me that there is a team in Tennessee this year that is better than Chris Jones and Melrose last year. My point is Bearden didn't really lose anything. I'll be in attendance for this tournament. I hope it's a good one!

I absolutely love how the Smyrna faithful think Alcoa is a "little ol' 3a school". Ha ha Alcoa this year would run over ANY team in the state that they play. And you haven't seen football until you play in the week in and week out competition that Maryville does.

Govs really need to win this one. I heard Jeff County had 8 juniors starting on offense. Did any of those 8 have much experience before this year?

Zach has had some issues on and off the field. Not going to mention the problems though. would be nice to get him back though, could be a big threat anytime he touches the ball.

beech is tough.. i went to watch the state tournament and the point guard named Reese i think was a special player. and this year he is going to be a senior i think?

yes sir, you are a wise man.. and his father, I say is very proud to say the least. but you see only really Nathan Parker is in his position. so he is prolly up there in the top in his position. he also had to go through the likes of losing his dad, and a broken ankle the second half of his sophomore season. and i am pretty sure that he had about 17 or 18 points per game before that? correct me if I am wrong. But Micah finishing last year would of let people recognize him more. he is having a good year this year too. I think 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists are his average?

Just adding this name in... I would have to say Micah Ballard is a great player and prolly the smartest player I have seen on the court.

After Maryville won the state championship a couple of years ago the crowds got crazy during the boys games. the student section takes up half of the big bleachers on the side opposite of the scoretable. Well Gov Man I agree with the call about the offense. And I hear we might be running the I- formation? What about our defense? How do you think they will be? And Cunningham is a play-maker. I look at him to be a great player and step up big next year.

I heard House (Zach Thomason) could possibly be a canidate for this job too. I am pretty close to Dylan and he told me that coach told him to gain 25 pounds by next year. He will be a beast if he can get this size.

Just ask one of the players. I have seen them around. We start with Sevier County at home. We end with maryville and farragut. They are also out around the campus.

Even if Rhea County played the perfect game Maryville would just not have to execute nearly at all for Rhea County to win. Not bashing Rhea County, but even if it draws close in the fourth quarter George will pull out a trick play in the closing minutes and win. Rhea county has to stop the run to win. I was just putting her out there cause she got MVP and was the leader of her team some say. But that whole team was really good. They had some players that were 7 and 6 grade out there.

pantherfan1, yes, I know they did play for the lady trotters.. But anyone who made that team has to be really good.. Would you not agree. And yes I watched the North and WB game last year. Tyler Powers is also a good ball player. But I know Tatum and Sarah have worked hard and they continue to get better. As for Becca Singleton, she is contributing big to Maryville. Not starting over some Juniors and Senior guards, but she is a "sixth-man" as you might say. I think she will be a good player over her high school career. There is my opinion for you..
