  1. WOOHOO!!! Congratulations Scotts Hill!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seems that after a little slump near the end of regular season, the Lady Lions are putting it all back together here in the post-season!! Let's ROCK THE HOUSE Saturday night!!!!
  2. CONGRATULATIONS LADY LIONS!! You girls just continue to amaze me!!! THANK YOU for giving Scotts Hill a chance to PACK THE HOUSE Saturday night & not have to travel to Gleason. The way our fans travel & pack out home games the atmosphere should be UNREAL. ONE GAME TO STATE. Let's DO IT.
  3. I'll be at the game & hope to see a great matchup. As a Scotts HIll fan I will be rooting for our girls, but I definitely have the utmost respect for a VERY good Middleton team. I believe that Middleton is one of the top two or three, if not the top rated A team in Tennessee, despite their loss to us in the district championship. I hope that our girls don't come into the game with a "happy to be going to sub-state" mindset, because I know Middleton will be pumped to avenge their one loss. Good luck & good health to all the girls.
  4. Congratulations District 15A teams. Looks like we'll basically replay the district tourney with different seedings. If I'm not mistaken, Humboldt & Gleason have advanced & will face our Regional 1 / 2 seeds in substate matchups.
  5. Tonight's games- 7pm Scotts Hill hosts MAHS Middleton hosts City University Madison @ Westwood Adamsville @ Douglass Good Luck 15A teams!!
  6. Tomorrow night @ 7pm. Scotts Hill hosts River City Middleton hosts Douglass Adamsville @ Westwood TCA @ City University Good luck District 15A!!
  7. Regionals start tonight: Scotts Hill hosts MAHS (Memphis Academy of Health/ Science?) Middleton hosts City University Madison @ Westwood Adamsville @ Douglass GOOD LUCK 15A !!!!!!
  8. I attended every game of the district tournament. Scotts Hill, Middleton, & Adamsville have some VERY strong teams that I'm excited (as a 15A & Scotts Hill fan) to see play in the Regionals & beyond. As far as fan behavior, during the tournament alone I saw an Adamsville lady sitting on the top row at TCA stand and flip off the Scotts Hill fans. I saw a Middleton fan grab stand and grab his crotch. Now, do I base my opinion of the entire Adamsville or Middleton fan base on those two people? No. I can't tell you if any Scotts Hill fans have or have not made such lude or obscene gestures... I know the ones I've been sitting around have not, but I can't speak for the whole. I do know that their passion is unrivaled in anything I've seen in High School sports & I'm proud for my child to attend the school & be a part of their athletic programs. I will say that dumping water on the coach on a gym floor is a habit that needs to be broken, & I'd guess/ hope that the principal/ coach will put a stop to it.
  9. I said yesterday (see above) that Scotts Hill would have to play basically a perfect game to beat Middleton. They did not, but Middleton had a very bad shooting night also & Scotts Hill rebounded well & played great defense. Great hustle from both teams & it was exciting to watch. Scotts Hill- 2009/2010 District Champs- congrats ladies.
  10. Congratulations ladies. Middleton is a VERY GOOD team, and the game was close, exciting, & well played. Good luck to all the district 15A teams as the road to state continues.
  11. I was at both the Middleton/ SH games this season, as a Scotts Hill fan. Their girls are VERY impressive. I saw our girls play one of their worst games all year at Middleton & lost by 30+. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying "if we played well we'd have won" or anything like that. Middleton hit 11 3 pointers in that game and played a very good, smothering defense. SH's girls knew they are better than that and played much better at home, eventually losing by 6. I'm not saying that we can NOT beat Middleton- quite the contrary, I know we COULD. But we'll have to play basically a perfect game to do so. Good luck & good health to both teams tonight, and I'm hoping for all the remaining 15A teams to represent well in the Regionals.
  12. TCA (Trinity Christian Academy) in Jackson. Now that I think about it, I suppose Scotts Hill - about 45m to 1hr - has close to the same drive as Middleton. I'm not certain how long the drive is from Jackson to Middleton, though.
  13. Middleton was playing VERY well last night against TCA. They looked in-synch & played in a very good rhythm. Scotts Hill had a slightly tougher game with Adamsville, but I really believe Adamsville is a better team than TCA. Should be a very exciting game, fun to watch. Hopefully Middleton will be able to bring more fans than they had last night.... school night, the distance, etc... made their crowd somewhat slim last night. Maybe for the championship game Wednesday they'll turn out though. If not, it'll basically be a home game for Scotts Hill, who had their cheering section packed out & spilled over into others.
  14. Scotts Hill over S. Gibson 58-46 Madison over Riverside 34-29 Adamsville over TCA 59-48 Tomorrow night @ TCA: 6pm 1) Middleton vs. 4) Madison 7:30pm 2) Scotts Hill vs. 3) Adamsville Consolation/ Championship @ TCA Tue. 2/23 6p, 7:30p
  15. Having all the snow games finalized, I believe tonight's schedule is as follows: 1.Middleton - bye 2. Scotts Hill hosts 7. S. Gibson 3. Adamsville hosts 6. TCA 4. Madison hosts 5. Riverside Good luck & good health to all the teams.
  16. Scotts Hill trailed by 6 at halftime (actually the same spread as when they played AT Middleton). Scotts Hill played a much better 2nd half than when they were at Middleton, and actually led briefly in the 3rd quarter, and wound up losing by 6pts. Considering they were without one starter, I thought Scotts Hill did a decent job. However, overall Scotts HIll has not been playing well lately. Not a good time to go into a slump with the tourney beginning tonight. I actually look for a pretty close game against an athletic S.Gibson team.
  17. With all the snow days and rescheduling it should make for a whirl of a finish for District 15A as we get ready for the tourney (rescheduled as well). Here's hoping everyone is able to shake off all the rust and play well. I've heard that Adamsville is doing 5 games/ 6 days, I know Scotts Hill is doing 4 district games/ 5 days starting tonight. WHEW... good luck & good health to everybody!!
  18. Some District 15A games: Thurs. 2/11 South Gibson @ Scotts Hill Sat. 2/13 Middleton @ Scotts Hill Mon. 2/15 Scotts Hill @ Adamsville Tue. 2/16 Adamsville @ Riverside
  19. Aaargh. These snow days are killing me. I follow Scotts Hill (& Riverside some)... Scotts Hill has had THREE district games snowed out: Middleton @ SH (resch. Sat. 2/13), @ Adamsville (resch. Mon. 2/15), and now S.Gibson @ SH (resch. ?). I'm going crazy, and I know the girls are as well. How many other teams in 15A have had multiple rescheduled games?
  20. Scotts Hill led for most of the game at Middleton, only to lose the lead- and the game- in the 4th. I believe SH will win (if the game isn't snowed out) at home tomorrow night. Also, as far as any advantage goes, I think (could be wrong) that if the teams were to split their games and end up with the same district record, the 1st tie breaker is head-to-head points, up to 10 points. In other words, if SH wins by more than 6 and the two teams finish with the same district record SH would be ahead? I think.
  21. I know this thread has digressed a bit from the original theme- I have a few thoughts: * Congrats again to Brandon Tubbs * Hunter Hays (Scotts Hill) scored 27 Tuesday night against TCA, a game in which Landon Hehe was sitting out * As per my last note- it seems to me that many student athletes who COULD be prolific scorers sometimes don't put up as many points due to the teams they're on. Generally speaking, it seems to make sense that good players on good, well-balanced teams won't always be huge high scorers * Lastly, but definitely not least- our thoughts & prayers need to go out to Hunter Hays (Riverside), whom I know is suffering from some life-threatening health issues. God bless him & his family
  22. A few district notes/ observations: * Middleton - idle last night- still cruising along undefeated in district AND overall. They beat their closest district rival Scotts Hill (17-2, 6-1 now) by 30+ at Middleton. * TCA seems to have suffered some key injuries to their bigs, and are in a bit of a slump. * South Gibson won their 1st district game last night by 3pts, at home vs. Riverside. * I watched Madison @ Scotts Hill last night. Coach Patterson's substitution strategy makes for a very difficult game to watch LOL. He even used it in the JV game, where the clock wasn't even being stopped.
  23. LOL.... Nope, no band playing the night I was there. But I definitely feel your pain... I've been in gyms where a pep band played & regardless of gym size it can be TOO LOUD.
  24. After a few district games, I have attended at least one game played by every team except So. Gibson. Here's my opinion of the district as of today: 1) Middleton 2) Scotts Hill 3) Adamsville 4) Madison 5) Riverside (I know TCA defeated them but Riverside led the entire game & lost on a buzzer beater. I feel Riverside is a better team. Just my opinion) 6) TCA 7) South Gibson
  25. Adamsville took control early. I believe they were up by 16? at one point in the 1st half. Scotts Hill made a small run & closed to within 10 at halftime. In the second half, the run continued... SH began to hit some of their 3's, and rebounded well. I do not remember the exact final either, but I believe it was around 6 to 8 points.
