  1. We're not getting any younger guru, losing credibility as the days pass.
  2. Pretty much your whole post was hard to read, punctuation is there for a reason. Other than that, I have to ask what your reasons for saying teams like Sullivan South and David Crockett have a better chance surprising Science Hill than Dobyns Bennett?
  3. From a person from outside the Dickson area, but with family that lives in Dickson, I'm happy to see the Dickson Co./Creekwood game finally come to fruition. It'll be good for the county, and I'm tempted to bypass my Indians of Dobyns Bennett season opener @ Farragut on the same night, to take this one in.

  6. Dobyns Bennett is under the microscope because of consistent year in and year out success, over long periods of time. Losing prematurely does bring the magnifying glass, but it's not the sole reason they are under the microscope. It's the winning tradition that puts them there in the first place, not the .500 'big game' winning percentage.
  7. It looks like the Consolation game could be an adventure, I wouldn't pencil in Dobyns Bennett at #3 just yet.
  8. So...who do you suggest we fire first? Clark? Morgan? Ritz? If you think all the blame rests on the shoulders of each sports coaching staff, you??™re wrong. A school that is constantly under the microscope and you suggest the fix all end all is to give every coach, of every sport, the pink slip. That, in and of itself, is a joke. Try again.
  9. Boys - D1/AAA Score Update! #5 Sullivan South - 50 #1 Science Hill - 62 Final. #3 Tennessee High - 55 #2 Dobyns Bennett - 50 Final.
  10. #6 Sullivan North upsets #3 South Greene, 75-72, advancing to meet #2 Johnson Co. in the District Semi-Finals tomorrow at 8:30 pm, also qualifying to play in next weeks Region 1 Tournament with the victory. Go Raiders!
  11. Anymore details about what role Lloyd and Short played in the fight between two members of the girls basketball team? Also, I wish the D2-AAA tournament wasn't being played on the same days as the D1-AAA tournament, I'd like to visit Dumplin Valley and take in a few IMAC games, before it's Big 9 vs. IMAC at my place.
  12. I'm interested in the conference in general, girls or boys, even outside of my Indians, believe it or not.
  13. I like the fact that the Indians will play all district opponents in the coming year, varsity, junior varsity, and freshman. It's my hope that every member of the Big 8 does this so we can have definitive conference champions on the junior varsity and freshman levels, adding a bit of flavor to the minor leagues. Does anyone know if all Big 8 junior varsity and freshman teams will play each other this fall, giving me the Big 8 JV Conference and Big 8 Freshman Conference I so desire?

  16. Experience you do have. I would appreciate any advice as I know only one system, the Kingsport system, graduating from it and now working for it. I also appreciate your desire to help. You should receive an e-mail from me sometime in the near future. Thanks in advance, BobbyMama.

  19. As a current Kingsport City Schools employee in after school programs and teachers assitant positions over the past four years, and a hopeful Kingsport City Schools future teacher, I'm curious to why you would never work for Kingsport City ever again 'for any reason'? My interest is genuine. Also, I say this to everyone, I do not believe that Kingsport City, Bristol City, and Sullivan County will come under the same house politically; Kingsport and Bristol would never give up their charters. It's more likely they will come together in the realm of education at some indefinite point in the future. The county education situation is woeful. Forced consolidations, annexation, and lack of funds is killing the county. Being a citizen of Kingsport and an employee of multiple city departments, I can honestly say I'd pay more taxes if it meant the situation would get better. I would like to see, however, the county 'wise men' be a bit more proactive in finding a solution to this situation the county system finds itself in, if their is one. I understand we in the city, both Kingsport and Bristol, are part of the problem, but we are not the problem. I also should say, kingsportfan and I are best friends. He is from the part of Bloomingdale where the city limit now sits on his closest horizon when it used to be miles away. I am from southeast Kingsport, situated between Memorial Blvd. and Ft. Henry Dr. The only topic, and I do mean only topic, we have made a conscious decision to not talk about is the county education system, our sympathies simply run too deep. However, we both are adament about the need for the cities and county to cooperate to fix the problem. We are all in this together, some more than others, and we are all part of the solution. I am now stepping off the soap box. Next.
  20. I'd have to agree with crawdad. If you win the TMSAA East Sectional (Large Division) Championship by 25, that speaks for itself. After watching these kids play multiple times, it's a different kid doing it everytime out. I won't go so far to say they are unstoppable, but they're close. I understand those from Knoxville don't have anything to compare Science Hill too, nor do we have anything to compare the Knoxville area teams too. I will say, however, that the beat down the 'Toppers put on teams from outside the Tri-Cities in the sectional tournament, lends me to believe crawdad just might take your money. Further, why don't Knox County middle schools participate in the TMSAA? It seems all the schools participating the Small and Large Divisions are from bordering counties.
