It sounds like we see a lot of the same bad posibilities by beating up on these teams right now.I think Chris gives us something we were lacking at halfback.Had we took the ball straight at SC on the first drive,it would have been in the books a lot quicker. There must be some advantage coach can see by not running the play in.

I'm saying put the 2ed team in the game and rotate some other kids in for a while.Then put the third string in and rotate for a while.We done it against Elizabethton.When you have a three or four touchdown lead,you should be able to run out the clock while building for the future and protecting the victory.

I don't know anything about Sterling.Chris has got nearly four years before he can even think about playing a college football game.How much water will run under the bridge in that amount of time.I just hope DB makes the playoffs this year and Chris can take the beating from the top teams and hold onto the ball.Forget the hype of playing against bad teams right now. Chris is the best looking half back on the DB team.If the line and coaches don't do their part against the good teams , it won't matter who is back there.The bottom line is{just win baby},and it takes 11 on the field.

Everybody must be worn out from last nights games.I'll say that DB is going to be a very hard match up for the guys from knoxville in this one. DB needs to do whatever it takes to get out with a win first and do a better job of getting the first teamers off the field.It is something to see some of your starters in the game late with a 30-6 lead.Makes no common sense what so ever. A great win for us!!!! The line opened some real nice holes last night, and the backs ran real hard.Please coaches,don't put it all on our running game.The big boys will stop a one dimensional game plan. !!!!.In the past,it was the lack of running that cost us,don't let the ability to run on weaker teams,cloud your thinking.For the love of smarts,could someone just run a play into the game coach ????

I'd take a 24 point win right now.CS played against JC. We didn't have the big running holes early in that game and had a hard time moving the ball in the first half.We allso didn't play real smart football as a team.It's a lot to do with blocking and play calling when you step up in competion.The good teams have more speed and are going to hit you more often.I think he had two carries for about two yards and a fumble in the first half.When our coaches made some adjustments and we had some good pass plays,he done fine as the game moved along .The playoff type teams are what we must be ready for,and we don't have a back that can do it on his own with 8 or 9 in the defensive box.

Has anybody seen DB this week, are they ready after the week off ?

It's 17th out of the states 60 4a class teams.This is coach T's computer and not Joe whoever in a little town somewhere around the state. The answer is simple,they don't play the hardest and they don't play a cupcake schedule.Maryville has a fine program and whatever class they play in,they will be a target.If they step up to 5a, sure there will be some tougher games in winning the state. It looks like there are a lot of great candidates in the state.I'll wait a couple of months and then decide who has done the best job.

I voted for Science Hill in a close game.

If Maryville has the students to make the move,then they should move up. I wonder what a WB and Maryville game would be like then.

I agree,it's a nice stadium with plenty of room and you can see the smokies as well. The field has way to much of a crown however. I look forward to the new turf at J Fred.

I refer to post # 13,MBA has been one of the best teams in this state for years.They have finished in the national top 25 at least three times since '99.Playing a good out of state team is fine,but playing a highschool--college team is another story.

MBA got a 62-14 dose of humility against Byrnes in 2005. They were ranked no.2 in the nation last year and the only team in SC to beat them since the start of the 2002 season,ended their quest for a fifth straight SC State title.Let's just play Maryville and be done with it. We would match up a lot better with them.

I don't know if we would want to play Byrnes, especially on national TV.They are superman fast and I doubt if that would be a good move for Dobyns-Bennett.

The bulls eye will get around to what matters by next week on this board.I'm sure DB will be getting ready for war this week and next.I don't think that Science Hill is important enough to be brought up by a coach for some time. This game is the only game Dobyns-Bennett has on it's agenda at this time.So don't worry about a sneak bear attack on this Tribe team bearsmom.

You never know how teams will match up until they play.Most would give the game to Bearden before they get dressed.I don't know how good SH's offense is,but if they could put up some points? Bearden didn't score until overtime at J fred.I'd say it will be a hard fought game and Bearden in a close one "after" they leave the field.

I had heared a rumor that the South game would come back in a couple of years.You would think that a couple of 4A teams in this part of the state would jump at the chance.DB has played a lot of teams around here over the years.GC shouldn't have trouble finding someone close,or we could add another region 2 team.

I think they actually did play all those players on friday.I agree that whatever we had at one point was to many. I know most sports do have tryouts. I guess if we still had 140 or 150 going into fall practice,something would have to give.You made some great points and I think a lot of kids over the years would rather be standing on on DB's sideline.

I have to nominate Dobyns-Bennett's defensive coordinator,Watson.

The faster and better teams you play outside of Region ,will help your guys in the long run.Elizabethton can hang their hats on the fact it was close at the half.
