  1. heck freezes over Depends on what happens with BGA-Ensworth, but Ryan, Baylor and BA would all be 4-3 and would go to a tiebreaker for the #2 seed. If BGA won, they would also be in the tiebreaker for #2. If they lose they would be the #5. MBA would drop to #6.
  2. Another wonderful, insightful post from the Grey Ghost.
  3. In the West, I think the seedings are set: 1) MUS (1st round bye) 2) CBHS (1st round bye) 3) Briarcrest (Home vs McCallie) [Winner plays at #2 E/M in 2nd Round] 4) St. Benedict (Away vs #5 East/Middle) [Winner plays at MUS in 2nd Round] In East/Middle already determined: 1) Ensworth (1st round bye) 7) McCallie (Away vs Briarcrest) [Winner plays at #2 E/M in 2nd Round] 8) JPII (Away vs #3 East/Middle) [Winner plays at CBHS in 2nd round] #3 East/Middle is home vs JPII [Winner plays at CBHS in 2nd round] #4 East/Middle is home vs #6 East/Middle [Winner plays at Ensworth in 2nd Round] #5 East/Middle is home vs St. Benedict [Winner plays at MUS in 2nd Round] #6 East/Middle is away vs #4 East/Middle [Winner plays at Ensworth in 2nd Round] If Ryan beats Baylor, Ryan gets the #2 seed and the 1st round bye. If BA beats McCallie and Ryan loses to Baylor, BA gets the #2 seed and 1st round bye. Some possible scenarios: If Ryan and BA win, MBA beats JPII and BGA loses to Ensworth: #2 Ryan, #3 BA, #4 MBA, #5 Baylor, #6 BGA If Ryan loses to Baylor, BA beats McCallie, MBA beats JPII, and BGA lose to Ensworth: #2 BA, #3 MBA, #4 Baylor, #5 Ryan, #6 BGA. If Ryan loses, BA loses, MBA wins and BGA wins: 5-way tiebreaker for #2 seed between Baylor, BA, MBA, Ryan, BGA.
  4. I do believe that MBA was badly shaken by the injury to their QB, but the game was already getting out of reach at that point. The issue was their defense. They were playing some form of 4-4 with only one safety. If Orleans broke thru the line, there was no one left back to tackle him except the lone safety (who had trouble tackling). The D line made almost no plays and tackling at corner and OLB was very poor as well. Right now the jury is still out as to whether or not MBA is a good team. With their struggles on D and the loss of their #1 QB, it could be a long season. The competition is tough.
  5. You know so little but you talk so much. Good luck.
  6. thanks for your concern. I can assure you that my progeny are hale and hearty. Time to get back on the antidepressants, T-mom. Those kind of comments might work in new england but they already chased you out of wherever you transplanted from.
  7. Thanks. Did you look up that definition all by your lonesome? Tell you what: I will put my test scores up against yours. They (and some athletic talent) got me an education that you can never get at MTSU. Look up the definition of self-delusional.
  8. I call them like I see them. You seem awfully defensive. If there is no truth to the post, I am surprised you would even know enough about who I was talking about to get your panties in such a wad. I just don't like the way this whole thing is going. I don't think it is good for the kids who have their dreams shattered when a 6'5 guy shows up on campus who happens to play their position. I also don't think that it is good for the kids who are exposed to a lifestyle that they cannot hope to emulate--only to be cast aside when they are no longer useful on the athletic field. It is high school football. The only pros are the guys running the athletic departments. Give the over-achieving 5'10 180 lb kid a chance to play private school football for heaven's sake.
  9. EHS looked good, but the MBA defense was horrendous. Orleans averaged 3 yds/carry vs Oakland. He averaged more than 10 today. Poor tackling. No one hitting anyone. Missed tackles in the middle and especially on the edge. The poorest performance by an MBA defense that I have ever witnessed. Either they need a new scheme or they need a personnel shake up. (Probably both.) Not going to get any easier. Independence barely lost to Brentwood High tonight. By the way, MUS remains the team to beat. The beat South Panola (MS)--a perennial national power--21-19. Ensworth has a very small bench. They will not be able to play every other week during the playoffs. I doubt that they will be a match for MUS. If Orleans goes down (as he did for part of the 1st half), they become an average team.
  10. The coaches might take a look at it. But I doubt the players care. From what I have heard from college recruiters in this area, some of the players in this game the past 2 years would have had difficulty reading anything.
  11. do you really think father ryan students would turn EHS's pond red? They dislike MBA alot more than EHS, i promise you they wouldnt be pulling for them. You can confirm that with 4 MBA students. Wouldnt surprise me considering what MBA has turned into this last year or 2. EHS 34 MBA 10 Oh, I wouldn't be to sure about the feeling of Ryan kids. I think EHS is coming into a league of its own as far as how it is perceived by the students of other local high schools--public and private (have you spoken to anyone from Oakland lately?).
  12. My glasses are not big-red colored. Just an impartial observer. I was actually at another game and just caught the end of the MBA game once I got home. Nice to know that Superman lives. Only his x-ray vision could have seen through the bodies on the sideline. I believe yours is the partisan opinion in this matter. From what I saw, even if the MBA did not possess the onside kick (I could not tell one way or the other), Maplewood had 1) a chance to stop MBA once they recovered the kick but didn't and 2) a few minutes at the end of the game to score again and couldn't.
  13. I have to agree with KW. I was watching the online stream and there was no way to tell if the ball was possessed inbounds. I did not see anyone from Maplewood making an issue of it after the call.
  14. Are they going to play tonight at Ensworth? It is cloudy.
  15. Does anyone have the complete MBA schedule for 2009?
  16. QUOTE (Brandon100 @ Nov 26 2008 - 12:37 AM) Good job 3yards! I'm calling you for BCS picks I will be glad to help both of you for a small fee. However, I am sure my luck will run out when there is $ on the line.
  17. Tuesday night game. I am out of town for the holidays but paid $5 to watch the internet feed. Thanks TSSAA for your support of D-II football. By the way, Why doesn't Alcoa schedule one of the top D-II teams? Maybe "somebody" would see that one. Probably not with the result that you would hope for.
