  1. this should help: http://www.usatoday.com/sports/football/nfl/draft-history-graphic.htm
  2. Is anyone Looking for a Middle School opponent for September 24th? It will be a road contest vs Springfield Middle School. Their original opponent had to forego this season and it has left them in a bind. I am trying to help them find a replacement game for that date. Thank you
  3. I am trying to help Springfield Middle School fill a spot on that date. It's their homecoming and their original opponent had to forego their season this year. Since it's their homecoming they won't be willing to travel.

  5. From what I hear the players didn't want to play another game. They had basically been through a 12 game season (including two real game scrimmages vs. Zion) and they were ready for it to be over. Coach Greene respected their decision.
  6. I agree that Private schools should play private schools and the Larger private school Champion should play the 5A public champion. And the Small Private champion should play the 4A public champion. That would be entertaining. As an LCA supporter I am hoping that we will one day be able to afford the luxuries of MBA, BA, DCA, and others but right now it is what it is. Maybe we will be able to afford new property and a field but right now I am extremely proud of the 27 boys and the coaches for taking a 2nd year program and going undefeated. Their running back is #2 in the area in rushing yards and the other two backs have over 400 and 600 yards respectively. Some of the kids had never put on a set of pads until last year. Of the 27 boys only 7 are seniors. Two were public school transfers, 1 transfered from a small private school that went under, and the other 4 were students at the school already. Only 1 player is being recruited at this time. I would say that the school is heading in the right direction for success. These players have worked their tails off during the offseason and have gelled into a formidable small program. Maybe they shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as TC and SP but they are growing and should make more than a few waves in DII next season.
  7. Fall break is a waste of time whether it be one or two weeks. I think Christmas needs to be extended instead of having a break in the fall. Football has fewer games than basketball and baseball. When you schedule fall break parents schedule vacations which means trouble for the football program that week. If you could guarantee that fall break would coincide with a bye week then I would accept it. Otherwise it's useless and really does not benefit anyone to any great degree.
  8. Wow was I ever off. LCA won 47-0. 495 total yards by the Knights including a 98yd TD run.
  9. Region 5 1A would also be a good place as they are geographically closer.
  10. slim, it sure sounded like he was asking with humility and not expressing unrealistic expectations. Your sarcasm appears at the very least misplaced if not childish.
  11. Unless the LCA players come out flat thinking this is just a gimme game I believe they should prevail. The LCA defense is stingy and the offense is pumping on all cylinders. If both teams play their best game it should be LCA 35 SCA 0 If LCA comes out committing penalties and turnovers it will be a closer contest but I still believe LCA will get the win: LCA 28 SCA 12
  12. In order for RBS to win they will need to improve their running game. They had flashes of success against LCA. MJCA has a strong running game so the RBS defense will need to control the line of scrimmage. Consistent play calling and fewer fumbles and penalties will make this game close. MJCA is thin in numbers so they can be worn down in the 4th quarter. If I have to predict an outcome based on the two games and looking at MJCA's recent performances I do not believe that this is the year that RBS gets a win. But anything can happen.
  13. It was a good game. It was physical but RBS lacked consistency on offense. Some good plays here and there but offensively RBS played better than last years game. We had 1 punt in the first half and one turnover on downs late in the game with our 2's in. Great crowd support from the RBS fans. I am looking forward to the RBS vs MJCA game. Should be a good one. LCA moved the ball well scoring 22 in the first half and 16 in the second. Next up are those SCA roughridas.
  14. Considering the era and the sudden global acceptance of aluminum I understand why it was so hard on the tin miners.
  15. As far as sports go, I support the belief that there should be two seperate divisions and, in the playoffs, private schools should only play private schools. But if a public school wants to play a private school in season that should also be allowed. I grew up in a public school and felt that the recruiting definitely put us at a disadvantage (although we only had one private school on our schedule in football). And I believe the DII should be seperated based on enrollment like public schools. So small private schools play small private schools. The multiplier just doesn't apply in situations where you have small enrollment. Recruiting and financial aid give a private school, regardless of size, an unfair advantage over public schools.
  16. You have a misconception about private schools (ie peaches and roses). There is still the "real life" stuff going on in private schools like drugs, pregnancy, and stuff like that however it's on a much smaller scale. What you get out of a private school is the avoidance of "no child left behind" and teaching kids so they can pass the TCAP instead of teaching them what they need to learn according to what's important to you instead of what's important to the government. Many private school parents work two jobs so that their children can have the best education afforded to them. It's just a matter of priorities. I used to think that private school was for wealthy snobs but it has changed into viewing as children who have parents that are more involved in their education because they have a vested interest. And that's not to say that all parents of public school children are not involved in their children's education. I know plenty who are and their children are excelling. Neither am I saying that all parents of private school children are more involved in their children's education. I know some from that side as well (rich snobs who look at it as a status symbol). But I like to play the percentages. I have to give up a larger home in a nicer neighborhood so that my children can attend a private school and I am ok with that. Also considering the state of the Tennessee education system (excluding Williamson county) I just prefer to have more control over what my kids are taught in school. With private school I have more of a say so and I know at anytime if for some reason I don't agree with the content or methods I can leave the school. So I don't judge public school kids and I don't judge private school kids (I've been to both and my kids have been in both). Private school is just better for my situation and my kids at this time.
  17. Nobody is accusing you of lying. I think you were just mistaken. If they were sitting on the RBS side it was probably coaches watching your opponent or statiticians trying to keep up with their offensive stats.
  18. Thank you Lilvol. I can tell you with 100% certainty we didn't send anyone to RBS. Everyone who owns an LCA coach's shirt was in Fayettville or at home in Smyrna.
  19. I agree that it will be a good game. Everyone should show up, we would like nothing less than a large crowd with plenty of support. I have respect for the RBS players as they keep showing up to practice and coming out trying to break the current streak. I wish them the best this week. I don't believe the streak will be broken however we know from last year that anything can happen and we certainly won't take them as lightly as we did last season.
  20. If MJCA can eliminate penalties and mistakes they can make this one close.
  21. Not this year. Did I miss something in the posting rules about only posting regarding TSSAA playoff teams?
