I havent watched Columbia play but, jus making a statement that football in Middle Tennessee is different from the east or west, not saying its better I think its really competitive in Mid Tn. I know the Knoxville area is competitive and the Memphis area. Some years the teams from these areas play for the title and I wouldnt say either one is better all around it just differs from year to year. I think Beech takes the title this year.

Defending the Wing T requires disciplined players who read there keys. I agree its more about the Jimmys and Joes. If you have the players to run the wing t more power to ya. In gallatins case I think Mt.Juliet was only the real time they couldnt stop the wing t. I think Gallatin has a better time stopping other offenses because thats what they run on offense like the spread that Henry County ran. Gallatin stopped the Station Camp wing t which comes back to the Jimmys and Joes statement.

I think Knox Catholic could definately have a bid for the top defense in 5A I'm not sure how many points they have allowed but looking at there oppenents and district it seems they have had tough oppenents and they were mentioned earlier in this thread.

I guess junkyarddog went back to his junkyard with his tail tucked between his legs...haha

Does anyone have the oppenents records vs. the top five defenses above?

who even cares about uniforms anyways.......when teams (metro schools) in the region cant go a game without an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty....as a fan you can gain respect for the teams you dont see pushing after the whistle constantly.......i was told when gallatin traveled to antioch to play last week a reciever from antioch was even talkin smack to the coaches before the game....come on now seriously...anyways i see gallatin taking on a tough hunters lane team this week..there record show them as perfect and they have played some good teams. I'm not so sure this is the region championship but I dont believe Hendersonville can hang with hunters lane...

naw i doubt Joslin would return to Gallatin after his success in Cookeville........they have alot of guys coming back from what i have heard and they should be atleast 3 round contenders in the playoffs....providing that no major injuries occur

hopefully there might be a coaching job available at gallatin high school this year..... check that out...

i think that theres a big enough difference in 5A for maryville to lose in their first season though jus because they arent used to playing 5A teams

well i just wanna put this out there my thoughts on maryville....i think that the 60 game winning streak will come to an end very soon once there playing up in 5A....thats just my perception of it i credit them they have been an awesome team and they have gone out and got it done for the past 60 games.....but i look at the other side of things and wonder how they were put into the spot of one of the top 5 teams in the nation when they arent playing at the highest level throughout the state.....anyways...i seriously dont think South Pitt could hang with Alcoa or Maryville but hey they always have the chance to schedule them during the season
