I havent watched Columbia play but, jus making a statement that football in Middle Tennessee is different from the east or west, not saying its better I think its really competitive in Mid Tn. I know the Knoxville area is competitive and the Memphis area. Some years the teams from these areas play for the title and I wouldnt say either one is better all around it just differs from year to year. I think Beech takes the title this year.

Defending the Wing T requires disciplined players who read there keys. I agree its more about the Jimmys and Joes. If you have the players to run the wing t more power to ya. In gallatins case I think Mt.Juliet was only the real time they couldnt stop the wing t. I think Gallatin has a better time stopping other offenses because thats what they run on offense like the spread that Henry County ran. Gallatin stopped the Station Camp wing t which comes back to the Jimmys and Joes statement.

I think Knox Catholic could definately have a bid for the top defense in 5A I'm not sure how many points they have allowed but looking at there oppenents and district it seems they have had tough oppenents and they were mentioned earlier in this thread.

I guess junkyarddog went back to his junkyard with his tail tucked between his legs...haha

who even cares about uniforms anyways.......when teams (metro schools) in the region cant go a game without an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty....as a fan you can gain respect for the teams you dont see pushing after the whistle constantly.......i was told when gallatin traveled to antioch to play last week a reciever from antioch was even talkin smack to the coaches before the game....come on now seriously...anyways i see gallatin taking on a tough hunters lane team this week..there record show them as perfect and they have played some good teams. I'm not so sure this is the region championship but I dont believe Hendersonville can hang with hunters lane...

naw i doubt Joslin would return to Gallatin after his success in Cookeville........they have alot of guys coming back from what i have heard and they should be atleast 3 round contenders in the playoffs....providing that no major injuries occur

hopefully there might be a coaching job available at gallatin high school this year..... check that out...

i think that theres a big enough difference in 5A for maryville to lose in their first season though jus because they arent used to playing 5A teams

well i just wanna put this out there my thoughts on maryville....i think that the 60 game winning streak will come to an end very soon once there playing up in 5A....thats just my perception of it i credit them they have been an awesome team and they have gone out and got it done for the past 60 games.....but i look at the other side of things and wonder how they were put into the spot of one of the top 5 teams in the nation when they arent playing at the highest level throughout the state.....anyways...i seriously dont think South Pitt could hang with Alcoa or Maryville but hey they always have the chance to schedule them during the season

Where did pennington go to school at? and what about Brent Alexander from Gallatin.....he was great during his years and he went on to play for 12 years or so in the NFL

seriously put not very known names in this cuz i dont know about yall but im tired of hearing the sonny gray and rod wilks posts about how good they are.....but a state championship makes u known as a junior winning it....on the other side the overton running back: White is pretty good,and Mcadoo from Antioch can be put in there as a top player

ok?.....well back to the game..its a coin toss... Independence is on a roll the last 5 games and they senior class is strong....on the other hand Gallatin has played strong their last 2 games putting points on the board and holding Hendersonville and Mcgavock to only 13 between the 2 games....all i can say is if Gallatin comes out and plays the same for a 3rd game the coin will land Gallatins way in a close one......the best time of the year is here...playoffs...anything can happen

It's sad to see this happen to a great HL team when it was just one players problem. We will all see the true deep heart of that Hunters lane program friday night. It lies on their shoulders whether they wanna be remembered as a tragic season gone by into history or how they came out their last game through having to give up all the wins they worked hard for and come away with a season ending killer win against h-ville. I hope they can come out and do it against h-ville not only because i'm a gallatin fan but for the well being of that program good luck friday and hopefully they wont lay over and end there season with more tragic

I agree one of the best D's in the state this year...they played tough and everything was going there way but it is very unfortunate to have this happen to them.....especially when it could have been prevented a long time ago......and they could be still at a 7-2 record headin into the playoffs...

we're talkin about the bext team in sumner county if they faced of who would be the best here....goin to East,TN has nothin to do with it..... and when does anyone throw gallatin into the mix>?.......station camp barely beats hendersonville......gallatin beats hendersonville by a bigger margin....and still no credit givin....beech has had an up and down year....beating white house.....by the way show me white houses record vs. sumner county teams....0-2....in the end one day station camp will face off with gallatin....in those prime years it will be determined the best of sumner county......till then....u gotta still compare 5A teams like gallatin and h-ville to be the best in sumner in my opinion
