  1. First of all- I am all about this kid- I think he is a D-1 player I am also just trying to be realistic... If you can...you do....Jeremy can average 23-25 a game because that is what he IS doing playing defense never takes away from scoring it is the opposite side of the ball...only if you are not in good shape- and J- is in great shape Comparing J to Oglesby (maybe the freshman of the year in the best conference in the nation) is just not realistic.. To say again I think Jeremey is one of the best players in chattanooga and will be a shoe in for a Mr. Basketball nomination next year... he might be deserving this year...but the spots are pretty full with proven seniors...
  2. I think the main difference is level of competition- oglesby was at Bradley Central...averaging around 30 a game- he is a great scorer but an even better pure shooter sexton is not a shooter- he scores well but is not great at any one element he does it all well... oglesby was good at driving but his shot was just downright incredible... I also think that oglesby was a much better athlete... but sexton is only a jr. so we'll see...
  3. In my opinion Sexton has all the intangibles that make a great player- the problem is he might not have the tangibles to make it at the highest level. He knows the game extremely well and plays a complete game- I think he would be a very good mid major player- i think he might get lost if he goes any higher than that...
  4. Unfortunately you are correct... in the post-skogen era we have struggled getting the support we used to have....the school needs to do something to get the atmosphere back... How is D. Hampton? Has he been playing well of late? 100%? or still nursing that hamstring?? I think if he is 100% we have our work cut out for us- without him at 100% Temple by 5...
  5. THat's pretty impressive especially considering he isn't even the best player in single A- congrats...
  6. Red bank is one of the worst coached teams in chattanooga...(McCallie isn't much better)-
  7. I am convinced that the temple fans we have seen over the past 8 or so years were skogen fans...since they (skogens) left our fan base has diminished immensely...which is frustrating... dadofour- don't blame our down year on a graduating class...temple has reached the final four with 0 seniors on the team after graduating 3 or more senior starters before... we still have talent...just not as much.... I would say inexperience is the main problem....from coaching to new kids etc... I think we can win if we play well --but picket is a good team we'll see how it goes...
  8. Tennessee Temple High School: A Dynasty in the New Millennium --------------------------- 3 Gold Balls 5 State Tournament Appearances 3 State Tourney MVP 3 Mr. Basketball Finalists 1 Mr. Basketball 20+ wins every year in the new Millennium 210-35 W/L since 2000 I am pretty sure that this is domination...
  9. I am sorry I should have included single a player- that is what I meant...my apologies... the best single a player i have seen and obviously th first statement is an overexageration- but i do believe trey was twice the player...people just forget...and get caught up in the moment....and union city people are generally ignorantly biased and make stupid comments all the time anyway....
  10. To compare Trey and MJ is ridiculous MJ couldn't get Trey water... Pearson is the best high school basketball player I have seen in person....and one of the best HIGH SCHOOL players to come out of tennessee- what happened in college is another story..
  11. YOU may have the opinion that Jeron was a college ball player but he had 0- no offers to play anywhere in college- chatt state talked to him a little bit but that was it... Jake Skogen was a Junior and DID NOT play college ball THE NEXT YEAR...that was my point..nor could he have...Ryan Wadley played at TN Temple university and that doesn't count as college ball- they are terrible and would get beat by most AAA High schools in Tennessee- he also had none to little impact on that team the entire time he played them.... The second year caleb skogen was a sophomore and nowhere near college talent...yet .. Seth skogen was an eighth grader...but go ahead and count him in if you want( you are stretching your definition of college ball players...I was saying college ball players as in the NEXT year they went on and played...) asgoodasitoncewas... Zach mouw??? really- again he helped our team as a role player but he is not college basketball talent...and again the only place he was even looked at was TN temple university and that was ONLY because his dad worked there...he was not that good and continues to not impact a terrible university team who does not even play NAIA competition... - I think you might be Zach after throwing that random name in there college football players = athletes college football players DO NOT = college basketball players Newsome is not playing anywhere again my point was that with good athletes and minimal to none college ball players- Temple has done just fine in the past...
  12. Ok - yes I agree with you...and they are all juniors....so they can be even better next year....however....Temple has never had more than ONE kid on the team at a time who went off the next year and played college ball... and they still have 3 titles..because they have other good athletes (which this years team has) and work hard and are well coached The first year they won the state title they had no one go play college ball THe second year skogen went and played college ball- so that is 1 last year they won the title and had NO ONE go off and play college ball....although skogen had many offers... it can be done with 1- or 0....and this team has 1- and other good athletes and good ball players (for high school) - and I don't see us getting things done like we used to...and I am being a critical negative person and blaming the coach (I just think there is a problem, so I offer my opinion, take it or leave it...)
  13. You make great points- alot of very NEW things this year...but you said it better than I did, we lack a scrappy intensity that we have always had...I guess that is what bothers me... and we have beat some decent teams...but we have also been beaten by decent teams and bad teams...that is frustrating....GO CRUSADERS!!!
  14. If you read my post I was commenting on the way the kids play, the atitude, the way they hold themselves, their basketball knowledge when it comes to positioning themselves on the court...this is the coaches responsibility....but if it makes you mad for me to say those things....sorry...don't read them, it is my honest opinion, esp...because I think our kids are good, and have more talent and are better basketball players than the teams that they have lost to have.... chillax 2seam...
  15. I know it is easy to be critical when things aren't going well, and when you are so used to winning all the time, and when big changes have occurred, but it seems to me that our coaching is very subpar. I know caleb is a great guy and all that, but I think we have sooo much more talent than we are utilizing. I know we are young...but still to lose like we did to soddy, and to a terrible like 4-9 McCallie team TWICE??? I just think we have the athletes to be a state competitor and to win it next year, but with the current state our kids play in (which I think is a reflection of the coaching) is immature and lacking confidence, we also appear ignorant as to how the game is to flow and be played..... If our kids gear up like they always do against grace I think we can sneak one out....if things continue the way they are....it could be a frustrating season for all of us( I posted this same thing on the other thread I just wasn't sure which one will survive /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> icecold06- you may be right that this is a pivotal game for temple's season- especially with how young we are... Temple's fan base disappeared with the Skogens...

  17. Wow- here we have another jack #### who doesn't know how to read, and wants to show everyone how amazingly ignorant he is- reading would help you understand that nothing involving the skogens was illegal- nice try with the slander though- keep it up... I don't know if they will make it this year...think it will be a tough road... Next year they will win state...mark it down...
  18. Marcum is more green as a coach than the players are playing together- the talent he has is amazing- I thought it was fairly obvious that we had better if not at least comparable talent- we just got outcoached... this could be the problem all year...
  19. Why weren't seth wadley and Joey Skogen playing? I thought they were eligible?? That will certainly help mcallie out a bunch.... Anyways- thought our boys looked good...I think they will slowly grow together- someone I think used the word cohesiveness...I think that is a good word...all the temple teams have grown AS TEAMS throughout the year and gotten much much better...I think that will happen again...
  20. HAHA I guess SP remembers that feeling huh??? It is great!! that was just sheer domination. maybe temple can give Spitt more than they bargained for....
  21. No one thought Temple could win last year either. Temple rallied to beat Lookout Valley and Silverdale in the 2nd half of each game....they got rid of their fears last week after playing a great LV team. I think Temple can shock SP with a win if they play like they can... I also wish Temple people would quit cryin and blamin the TFP or the TSSAA for what happened it was our own stupid fault- we should be thankful that the punishment is not worse...
  22. well I will tell you one thing we beat LV in the 2nd half- too bad we can't play like that the whole game...we would have beat LV if we would have played like that in the 1st half...and we have all only juniors and younger on the team...so we will deffinately beat LV next year and all i say is lookout SP cause if we play like we did in the 2nd half tonight- UPSET ALERT!
