  1. Congrats Oakland!! It was great to see the enthusiasm of everyone there. Coach Mac and his staff are to be commended for an excellent job in preparing the guys mentally for this game, as well as physically. I noticed before the first snap was ever taken that OHS was anxious to get going. They could not be still on the coin toss, the national anthem, etc. They were primed and ready to pounce! Let's go Pats.
  2. Thanks for the correct information. No wonder the BA prospect didn't get anywhere!!!
  3. I heard that the one lined down against McAdoo was the Notre Dame prospect. Anyway, I agree that the weak point is a punter. Any thoughts?
  4. I wouldn't miss this Battle of the Boro for anything less than an emergency! It will be a packet house. Hats of to Coach and his staff....and all of the boys.
  5. I thought the D looked good. Judging for the BA parents sitting on the OHS side, they were surprised too. They have 6 D1 prospects..one to Notre Dame, and 5 others. Don't know which ones they were though.
  6. Just left the scrimmage and I have to say that this is a different team. Congrats to Coach McDaniel and his staff. The charge you feel is electric! What I saw is tremendous difference from years past. OHS has always had the talent, just not the coaching to pull it together. What about #5? How many TD's did he get? Great job, Oakland. Can't wait for the Battle of the Boro....should bring back the REAL battle. I saw a lot of former players there. I felt bad for them cause they never had this chance. But once a Patriot always a Patriot. True Patriots will come back to support their team. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  7. Coach Moose is a great coach...very knowledgeable. He was liked by all of the players. If he leaves I hope it will be because he is choosing to leave. He may feel that it is in his best interests to pursue a head coaching job. He would be great. I hate to see him leave OHS. This is a year for change. I feel confident, though, that it will be a positive one and a chance to redefine OHS football for years to come. I wish all of the OHS coaches good luck in the future. Maybe they will keep a few, but Moose would have been my choice if I were going to keep one.
  8. What did he say that was so inappropriate about the indoor facility>
  9. Way to go OHS! You got yourself one heck of a football coach. I'd watch out. I'll bet he brings a ton of talented assistant coaches with him. This is just what OHS football needed....enthusiasm, talent, know how, knowledge of the fundamentals of football, and how to motivate players. I also heard he knows how to get parents involved. I think that will be needed since OHS is losing a lot of OEC members that had senior players, or ones that quit. I can't wait!!!! I also heard he is one heck of a teacher. I bet the Moore Co. kids will miss him.
  10. My bet is on McDaniel. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> He's young and can grow right along with the program. I heard his players, and all of the coaches he's worked with from RHS and Moore Co have lots of respect for him. I expect to see him back in Rutherford County soon.
  11. Just to set the record straight the Football Booster Club at Oakland did not fund the indoor facility. Mr. Livingston and his dad did all of the fundraising work on that. They have worked themselves to make that happen. The Booster Club (OEC) was busy raising the $50,000 needed to fund the program every year since our players don't pay to play football at OHS. The OEC has worked themselves to death over the past three years to raise OHS football up and provide new uniforms for their players, build a merchandise hut, develop one of the most outstanding fields, and lots of other things. OHS football is getting ready to bust loose. I can't wait! Go OHS!! I too keep hearing the CHristmas deadline.
  12. I agree that Coach McDaniel would be a great fit for OHS football. He is young and can grow with the program. He is also familiar with working with a diverse student population. I bet he could bring in some good people with him. don't know if he applied or not. Anyone know? /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  13. What a great game on Friday night. A great game atmosphere by both teams. Way to go Patriots! You showed that you all have a heart for the game. Congratulations to all of the seniors. Way to end on a win. I know it's been a tough few years, but you have stuck with it and I could not be prouder of each one of you. Great things are in store for OHS football. I know that those that are leaving will continue to support their school. Lots of talent returning next year. Oakland has a great solid string of talent coming up as sophmores, juniors, and senior players. Train hard in the off season. Good luck to all of the graduating seniors. You have learned one of life's toughest lessons....sticking with what you love even through adversity. Lots of life skills are always learned in sports.
  14. That's right Patriots! Time to end with a solid win. No quitting, no excuses. Seniors...there will be no more chances to strap on the pads after tonight. Think about it...let's end high school football with a win! Time to show your leadership skills. Believe in yourself and get the job done. I know those OHS students will be faithful to the end. I am so proud of them! Let's go PATRIOTS!!!!
  15. I understand that Siegel is not disrespectful of Oakland. Every player knows how much hard work and effort it takes to play on any team. Point well taken by you concerning Baxter. I agree that this region is one of the strongest in the state.
