  1. regardless of the outcome of some of these regular season games, these schedules are the best thing for the programs in my opinion. I think these games will go a long way in preparing them for the playoffs. Since these games are at least 2 year deals the young kids in both programs better get ready for some hard nose football. Good luck to both teams next year.
  2. Station Camp is a very impressive team and I think this could be a good game. Just want all the Polk Players to know that we are all very proud of you and wish you the best of luck Friday night. Good luck and leave it all on the field.
  3. Should be a good game. Good luck to the Chargers, play hard and see what happens.
  4. Good luck to the boys from East Ridge and Coach Martin from Polk county. Region 4 is a very good region, but anything can happen. Play hard and enjoy the season.
  5. Polk did not play exceptionally well, but well enough to win. I am very proud of this group of kids and wish them the very best the rest of the way. Keep the pride and play with everything you have.
  6. I read in an earlier post that Cental was better than they played against Howard, and I think Polk is better than they played against Central but everyone said I was just making excues. So take that for whats it worth. Wrecking Crew where are you? I know, you are probably picking out your bridesmade dress arent you? Well the way you were bragging you might just be the flower girl....... Come on lets hear it, Polk stinks and you guys are the greatest. Wait a minute didnt little ole Howard just spank you....For a REGION CHAMPIONSHIP. Im sorry but the way you bragged and downed our team was totally uncalled for and not a very good example for others. Winning this region will get tougher and tougher especially without your mesiah(playing in Georgia). Good luck the rest of the way. Not sure Region 3 3A will make a lot of noise, but I hope so..
  7. Regardless of what happens the rest of the way, I want to say that I am very pround of this years team and what they stand for. I would also like to congratulate the seniors and I hope they all have a very good night. The four years you spend in High School go by so fast I'm sure it seems like a dream. Good luck to all, and my prediciton is Pok by a couple of touchdowns, with a lot of pride and heart in their last 2008 home game.
  8. I must be confused, I thought this was a McMinn Central Howard thread. I dont know if it is Polk fans not getting over the loss as much as it is Central fans not getting over the win or themselves. You guys had a better team on Friday and that is great, but for the love of god take the win and shutup. I dont know what you guys are going to do when the mesiah(Brandon Derrick) moves down to Georgia. I guess you will just have to stay on the Basketball threads. Folks you are not going to always have the better team and there is no need to act so redneck rich. You might want to worry about Howard, they are not a bad team and should match up pretty well with the Chargers this Friday night. I would not be surprised to see Howard win this one at their place. They are much more disciplined than in the past and keep plugging along. I for one am pulling for the Hustling tigers, I like their coach and they take wins with dignity and play the game the right way.
  9. Nowhere, he actually quit playing when he was a Junior......
  10. Did not get to post on the Sequoyah Polk thread after the game, but I agree about play and determination of the sequoyah team this year. There was a lot of individual effort, but also a lot of team effort in every play of the Polk game. Good luck to you guys the rest of the way.
  11. From the pictures that some Central folks sent to me of the artwork, I would like to meet the real artist that could sneek in there and paint something that detailed in the dark..... I cant wait to find out who actually painted the fieldhouse. I talked to a policeman and they are investigating since this is truly vandalism. This is sort of like kicking the windshield out of your own car....
  12. Your right, only in Polk County. I forgot you live in that vast city of antique stores and railroad museum "Etowah" we are not worthy to breath your air. I heard you guys were getting a Wal-Mart....Not!! You must have forgot, we only a few miles apart. Just checking, does the river between us seperate the intelligence level? I certainly think so.........
  13. I would rather be a bridesmaid every year, than a bride once every 20 years. When my kids talk to me, they will ask "Daddy were you ever arrested? and I will so NO, but I never won a region either!!!!Daddy was just a bridesmaid with class.......
  14. Also if we are as pathetic as you say, then I suppose you wont brag if you win this game, right? I suppose we are not worthy to be on the same field as the "Great Big Blue"
  15. Worthy enough to keep you off Coacht bragging. We never live in the past, thats why we have a winning season year after year. I am sure in a couple of years we will hear " Do you remember when Central was awesome back in 2007 and 2008" what happened? did one of the kids quit coaching?
  16. I have to agree, his approach is awesome. Lets see he brought in a transfer kid from a region rival(that worked out well since his 2 of his star players got in a fight with him) then the 2 star players were both kicked off the team for walking off the field during a game, which showed great commitment to the rest of the squad since one of them had been arrested twice but still was allowed to come back. I promise you Coach Davis dont have that kind of rapport with his team, because they have basic requirments and they know who is in charge. Which player is running the team for Central this week? Now lets address the top dog comment. Central is a very good team, but top dog I doubt. Who knows how this game friday night will turn out, but I can assure you the top dog will get put back in his cage come playoff time. Now lets look at the JV comment. Obviously Central does, because they run Arron Walker against us last year, who by the way also played on friday nights and they still lost 44 to 0. If Central wins the region next year, I suspect they will do it with another coach, as I do not believe that Ole Mr. rapport, all knowing, all teaching, and all bail bondsman will be there to cheer on the big blue. And to answer your very repetitive question, It has been a long time since Polk won a region championshipt, but we have taken those lossed with pride and dignity, and there has been a lot more taught to these kids than just football. They have also won a lot of games, and were able to win those without boasting and acting like they had never won anything before. I would rather win 5-6 games a year and be consistent, and prideful than win them all one year or two and act retarded. Good luck and may you someday be blessed with a little bit of humbleness.
  17. And lets see if you carry the 1 add the 0 plus the other 1 then minus 2 then plus 2(hold on let me get my calculator) my batteries are low, but I think that would make 2 wins in 12 years wouldnt it? awesome!! short lived success never rest in the minds of others.
  18. Mike Hammons from Polk won "Kicker of the year"
  19. Probably a shorter distance than it is since Central had a winning season(excluding last year).
  20. Regardless of what happens in this game friday night, I think both teams have a lot to be proud of this year. Central was a pre-season favorite and have managed to keep it together even though they had some player issues throughout the year. Polk was not suppose to win as many games as they have because of lack of exerience and youth, but have come together and played as a real "Team" all year long. When teams can go through their season, gain some experience, learn the concept of unselfish play and have some fun then the winning that comes with that is just a bonus. Derrick Davis does a wonderful job with his team, not only with the teaching of the game, but also with the teaching of how to conduct yourself on and off the field. He is very deserving of any success him or his team enjoys.
  21. Central definitely has the big play capability, and they are not bad on the ground either, but again I think Polk is pretty darn good too. Polk may not have as much big play opprotunity, but they always keep plugging along. I dont think Central will win by 2 TD, I beleive a late score could win it for either side. Lets just hope for a safe injury free game, played with sportsmanship.
  22. I think this will be a good game. Central has been affective in the air so far this year and I expect that will come out throwing the football, plus they always have threats with rushing the football. Polk is better than some may think, so I think they will come out ready to play. This will be big stage and unfortuantely its at the home of the Chargers, so they will have the advantage there, but I still say this will be a good one.
  23. I still say this should be a good one. Cant wait til game time. Be careful traveling to the game. Hope nobody gets hurt.
  24. I am not big on threads started under a players name, but I think Mr. Rayl is a good athlete and should be very successful regardless of what position he plays. I doubt however that he is division 1 material at quarterback. I wish this young man lots of success and hope he does well. He put himself in a bad position for criticism and bashing when he switched schools before his Junior season. One thing that I think anyone looks at is commitment to your program, and apparently it was not there. If he switched schools because he just wasnt happy thats one thing, if he switched schools just to try and make himself look better then thats another. There are lots of kids who never get the opportunity to play for their chosen school much less 2 differnt ones, so I hope he achieves what he set out to do. You know in an article a few weeks ago their was a discussion about Reggie White, who played at Howard for 4 years and during those 4 years they won 5 ballgames and look where he ended up. If you have tallent and potential they will find you, regardless of where you play. With that being said, I think they do look at commitment.
