  1. Jackson County played a near perfect game. CSAS had a good game plan its just that Jackson Co. probably missed only 1 or 2 threes all night, with the vast majority of the threes they hit coming with Mckoy/Cobb/Hampton's hand in their face. Great shooting which turned out to be a dagger in CSAS' heart. Shooting like that probably will not last but best of luck in the 'Boro. It should also be noted that in the second half CSAS did run their "normal" press...it was more of a full court man-to-man defense which caused more turnovers than the other press. Additionally, if Townsend had played for CSAS it would have been like many Chattavegas fans had predicted, but that injury turned out to cost CSAS. A few things that should be said of the 7 CSAS seniors: 1) 3 out of their 4 years they appeared in the substate; once in AA as freshman. 2) Undefeated in their district for the three years that they played significant minutes. 3) State Runner - Up in 2007. 4) Winningest senior class in school history. 5) Record of 27-7 this year is the best record in school history. 6) 3 Regular Season District and District Tournament championships. 7) 3 out of the 7 seniors will most likely being playing ball in college. 8) Two 1000 point scorers in Cobb and Hampton. Congratulations CSAS and their seniors on a great season, it has been great watching you play for the past four years. You have left a high standard of excellence behind you that all future CSAS teams will only hope to match for years to come.
  2. Let's keep the talk of the girl's games in the girls forums, ok? Midtensportsfan, you are a very passionate fan, and I admire that to a certain extent, but come on. Assualting other people's predictions? Give me three reasons why tdaddy should have known how good Clarkrange was. This is the beauty of the state playoffs. You have no clue how good we are. We have no clue how good you are. It always makes for lots of suspense and good games. We have nothing to go by but whats on paper, and all that points to CSAS. Being a CSAS fan, I think we're going back to state this year. We won at Pickett last year in the "Wheelhouse" (lol) and I'm confident we can win in another hostile environment. Go Pats!
  3. Sexton is unbelievable. A box and 1 would do nothing against him. Its scary that he is a junior. Its so easy to blame the refs for any game, but I find it hard to believe that Temple didn't commit a single foul in the 3rd quarter. I mean, come on, Kemp hand-checked at least once. He is not fast enough to guard McKoy perfectly an entire quarter. Just bein realistic... Temple earned the win. CSAS played terrible. Townsend was off, only went 1-9 from the field. Hampton allowed Sexton to get into his head. Its alright though. CSAS won AT pickett last year. They beat Temple by 27 and Grace by 12 on the road. They even beat Boles Academy, the host school of their Christmas tournament in FL. I have full confidence that CSAS can win on the road again.
  4. HE'S BACK!!! Man d-hater, i've missed you. Your posts used to be the funniest part of my day. Foster played 7 minutes and had 2 points and 3 rebounds. He played extremely well and did his job, but he didnt win the game. He CONTRIBUTED to the win, but he was not the only reason the Patriots won.
  5. Fuquan plays with pure athleticism right now, he needs to work on fundamentals. He, Herman, and Shaugnessy could be scary next year. Shaugnessy was great tonight, he is always the hardest working player on the floor. CSAS showed tonight who the better TEAM was tonight. Hampton hit the clutch threes and free throws (except a couple at the end). I dont think anybody in the district can stay in front of Cobb. Townsend hit some big 3's and played good, physical D on McMasters. McKoy struggled a little on offense, but he played the entire game and played very good D on Herman (he shot 5-13 from the field). Ball had a very good game. He had 12 points and showed off a pretty midrange jumper. It was interesting to watch he and Shaugnessy go at it all night. Fun matchup there. The hidden hero for CSAS tonight was Foster. He came in the game, played physical, got some rebounds, and did his job. The Patriots are going to need more of that out of him if they want to make a deep run in the state.
  6. Only beating an unranked team by 1 is better than losing to an unranked team on national television (Kentucky)!!! I hate to ruin the high spirits of all these vols fans, but there is a reason they are behind Memphis in the polls. Memphis is the better, more physical, more athletic team and they will win tomorrow.
  7. Your constant critique of Ball is getting really old. Forrest Gump? Where do you get that comparison? How you about instead of bashing a kid, let him enjoy his achievements and leave him alone. As for my other post, I came off wrong. I am a CSAS fan, and I believe that CSAS will beat Grace. I didn't make that clear before, and I apologize. I just think that Grace is a matchup nightmare for anybody. I don't think there is a team in the state that can match Grace's height. CSAS just has to use their favorable matchups, and one of those is the 3 point shot. I didnt mean to insinuate that was their only advantage, I just believe it is their biggest.
  8. You people are all crazy. This website is about supporting your team and making comments about others. This might mean disagreeing with someone else. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion, there is no need to make bets trying to get people off the website. That being said, how hard would it be to make a new name? Pointless bet... Now that all of that is out of the way, back to the thread. I believe it was Wiedmer (sp) that wrote the article in Chatt TFP about the A tournament being the most exciting. I hope people read it, because this is going to be an exciting tournament. I believe that all the higher seeds will win in the first round. That brings us to the second round: Temple vs South Pitt: This game will be closer than Temple fans want to believe. South Pitt has an incredibly athletic team that is a matchup nightmare. Their entire starting lineup is in the 6'2-6'4 range and they can all jump. Shooting is a weakness, and so is depth. If Temple can force turnovers and get South Pitt in foul trouble, they will win easily. CSAS vs Grace: The worst possible thing happened for CSAS. Grace is a matchup nightmare for anybody and a much tougher game than Temple (for CSAS). Church and the other role players won't do much against CSAS, they never do. McMasters always has a monster game against CSAS, and Shaugnessy (sp) usually does his thing. This game is going to come down to Herman's ability to involve his big men and CSAS's ability to shoot the 3. They only hit 1 against South Pitt. If they hope to make it to the Region final, they are going to have to shoot better than that.
  9. For some reason, silverdale shoots the ball very well against AS. Part of that might be the Patriot's fault though... The game seemed like it was at a neutral site. The "Patriot Crazies" were acting like "Patriot Lazies". Silverdale brought half their school with them. The Lil Wayne concert definitely stole the show on Saturday. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Like chattanooga said, all five starters were in double digits for CSAS. The problem seemed to be inconsistency from the bench. It seemed like every time a substitution was made, the patriots took a step backward. Thats not like the AS team from the beginning of the year. I have a feeling that we'll see the old patriots on friday night.
  10. how did this happen? was grace having an off night, or did silverdale shoot the lights out...?
  11. the chattanoogan has him listed with having 22 points. With Hampton out, the younger players looked to him to dump the ball down to him and rely on his senior experience. It will be interesting to see how Ball and Cobb step up while Hampton is out.
  12. yep, you pretty much nailed it. Hampton goes down in the 2nd quarter, and things look bad. CSAS surprises everybody though and goes up 16 in the 3rd. Then Silverdale hits some three's and has some bad calls go their way, and next thing u know they are winning. CSAS needed Hampton in the game to control things, and he was stuck on the bench. You could tell it was just killing him not being out there. Hassan Cobb had to step up and take control, and it seemed like a lot for him to handle. Overall it will be a learning experience for CSAS, I dont think it would have done them any good to go undefeated the rest of the regular season. And about the officiating, I hate to use that as an excuse, but it was terrible. Every toss up went to Silverdale, and Silverdale shot 39 free throws to CSAS's 16. Silverdale was in the double bonus about two-thirds of the way through the third. The refs should have let a game that close be decided by play, not calls. Let the kids play!
  13. The best PG in chattanooga is definitely Dontay Hampton from CSAS. He is 6 feet tall with incredibly long arms and does everything well. He had something like 25 points, 15 rebounds, 9 steals and 6 assists against Temple. He does what the team needs to win and was the main reason for their state championship run last year. I've heard that he is hearing from several mid-majors and that UTC is really gunning for him. Big surprise there /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  14. It doesn't really matter. All I know is, Ball is a player who does what he needs to do. CSAS doesn't need him scoring 20 a game. It's nice when he does, but its not needed. Back to the topic of this board... is there any chance that CSAS loses the region? They've already blown out both Temple and Grace(I know it was only 12, but we all know it was way worse than that) on their home floors.
  15. The game IS at Grace......just FYI
