  1. 4.... correction they should beat ensworth
  2. I agree about Christian Brothers being the Front runner they have 3 players that can score on any given night and a lot of other guys who know their roles and perform them well. Ensworth is very talented and deep although not as deep as their coach thinks they are. The whole 5-5-5 thing may work for now but late in the season there should be a top 8-10 that would make this team reach its potential MBA has played well after a shaky start i think they are around 10-2 now after starting 3-2 and they are just finding ways to win close games which is a sign of a team that can always compete. BA... the point guard is a special player and they have some other guys that can score at any given time but if the guard scores 20 and everyone else chips in 4-8 they could be tough to beat Father Ryan- as usual they are not overly talented but the coach there knows how to get the most out of his players and has them always play their best and their hardest
  3. Saw the Box scores from the Columbia Central Tournament: 1st Round: MBA 63 Marshall County 56 Leading Scorers: Holden Mobley (MBA)- 30 Kedren Johnson (Marshall Co.)- 26. From the scores by quarters appeared to be close throughout Columbia Central 66 Madison Academy 62... Columbia- 4 players in double figures Dominique Parks- 16 and Devonta Hamlet- 15 led the way. No scores for Madison. Columbia trailed by 12 at half but came roaring back in the second half including winning the 4th quarter by 10 to win by 4 Consolation: Marshall County 54 Madison Academy 40. Kedren Johnson 26 (did not play 4th quarter probably 16 minutes). Score is closer than the game with Madison winning the 4th quarter 18 to 4 against Marshall County's backups Championship: MBA 58 Columbia 53. Holden Mobley 20- Tradarius Goff (Columbia) 17. MBA was up 11 at half but a bad third quarter allowed Columbia to get back into it although it was not enough. Also in Ensworth's Mid-TN tournament. Ensworth defeated La Vergne convincingly in the championship
  4. I like Ensworth over MBA and Ryan but they are very closely matched. They will all start playing each other here in early January. Ensworth puts out a 15 man rotation almost every night but their main point guard is a freshman named Cornelius Elder. Very athletic and talented for a freshman but has a little bit of an attitude he needs to work on
  5. Updated Power Rankings: 1. Christian Brothers (1)- close loss to Germantown but still feel they are the best team 2. Ensworth (3)- win over mccallie and continuing to beat opponents big 3. McCallie (2)- close loss to ensworth moves them down but they still remain a clear third 4. Father Ryan (6)- with a win over Franklin they move to fourth 5. MUS (7)- are continuing to win early in the season 6. MBA (4)- I'll keep them sixth but back to back losses has them looking like they are struggling 7. St Benedict (9)- a win over Ryan moves them up over the week 8. Baylor (10)- two narrow losses keep them from being perfect 9. Briarcrest (5)- Playing lots of games and play good ones and bad ones 10. JPII (NR)- a great win over Centennial gets them in the top 10 Drop Out: BA (7)- I'm Sure they will be on this list eventually but early in the season you need a win to be on this
  6. I believe he is a freshman or sophmore but yes very shaky now but has the potential with his size to become a very good player. Not quite coordinated but that is something that will take time for someone who has grown so much. Not this year or maybe even the nect but after that he will begin to be a force
  7. A team from DII AA will be in this soon enough. They don't get respect for the kind of basketball that they play more than likely will be Ensworth but other teams like MBA Ryan and BA all could crack it
  8. What are people's opinions on how this will turn out? My favorite has got to be Christian Brothers. Although this may not be one of their better teams they can get it done with a bunch of great shooters and a point guard who runs the show effectively. They beat MBA and Father Ryan both this weekend by 10 points Also other teams I believe that could make a run at the championship are Ensworth and McCallie. These two teams have already played a good game with Ensworth coming out on top but I feel that McCallie has a lot of growing to do and has a lot of potential. My top 10 are 1. Christian Brothers 2. McCallie 3. Ensworth 4. MBA 5. Briarcrest 6. Father Ryan 7. Brentwood Academy 8. MUS 9. St. benedict 10. Baylor Players to Watch Christian Brothers- Boughner- great shooter with size and above average athleticism McCallie- Price- highly touted young player with great strength and scoring ability inside Ensworth- very well rounded attack but i will be watching the inside combo of McFadden and McDermot MBA- proven group of seniors but to make a run sophmore Howard and Blackwell need to step up Briarcrest- have not really had a chance to see them play would like info on them Father Ryan- as it always is with Ryan defense is the number 1 priority but they will need shooters like Coursey and Rohling to be knock down Brentwood academy- Garlington- speed speed speed. this kid is extremely quick and can blow by defenders with ease MUS- also have yet to see play St. Benedict- guards that can score effectively Baylor- lost a lot after last year but need players like Born to play well This should be fairly competitive especially from the top 7 or 8. Any thoughts on teams or players would be appreciated.
  9. also Meiko Lyles a junior at USN who is not gettin a lot of pub is a great player averaging about 26 a game and making everyone around him better
  10. I dont know about the rowdiest crowds but i was at the mba ensworth game at ensworth last year and there were at least 2500 fans there and you could barely here yourself think. it made it better that it was a very tight game
