i hear temple won 64-50. is this true?

Way to go temple and Grace! Way to rep Chattanooga well! Good luck in state. I was very disappointed with the grace/clarkrange game. I thought clarkrange would put up a much better fight. And i think that upchurch is a very good player and i feel bad for him that he doesn't have anyone to help him out. Congrats to clarkrange for making it this far

the roster on their team info page says that he's number 10. i'm not from there so i'm not positive that that is right. anyone wanna clarify?

ANYWAYS...back to talking about the game. Is upchurch getting college attention?

As much as I would like to pick Temple to win this, I don't want to. I remember last year everyone picked arts & sciences to beat Jackson County but JC came fired up and shot the lights out. I expect Clay Co. to be the same way so be careful crusaders. I wish the best of luck to both teams and congrats on great seasons!

i'm from chattanooga and i haven't seen clarkrange play. i know their girls are really good but what about the guys? what are their strengths/weaknesses?

Being from Chattanooga and a fan i say congrats to PC but I would also like to say that they caught CSAS on a bad shooting night...I've seen them play at a much better level but oh well, thats part of the game. congrats to the patriots on a great season and good luck to PC the rest of the way!

i agree. csas plays its best ball when they play hard and with passion. i think both grace and temple witnessed the patriots when they play hard, and i dont think either of them will want to play them in the tourney.

Grace doesn't utilize the talent they have due to poor coaching. CSAS is peaking right now and playing their best ball of the season. I as well pick CSAS winning by about 5.

I don't think South Pitt will be able to beat CSAS in the district. Right now Signal Mtn. is more of a threat than South Pitt. The other day South Pitt beat Sale Creek by 9. CSAS beat them by almost 40. Oh... not to mention that Signal beat South Pitt earlier this season. Don't get me wrong... South Pitt is a great team. But right now, I don't think they're at the same level of play that CSAS is at. But then again, everything is different during tournament time.

i agree. you can't honestly say that about him. he's a great player. anyone know if or what colleges are interested in him?

may i add that last time these teams met in the regular season they had patrick fouled out by the fourth quarter? not to mention two early fouls. he is an excellent player but whether they feed him the ball or not is a big deal...and whether he can stay outta foul trouble

Region 3A rivals Grace Baptist Academy and CSAS face off on East Third Street Friday night. Thoughts or predictions?

I think I am gonna have to pick Temple to win by 12. I haven't seen the team work that Grace needs to be successful. I think that temple's defense will be too much for grace to handle. but who knows? grace usually steps up in big games. This should be a good one!

this "game" last night was horrible. south pitt could've made it a much closer game. they don't use their quickness and athleticism to their advantage...in stead they pull up for jump shots. and free throws could use some work too i may add. they missed about 15 South pitt could be very dangerous later in the season if teams arent careful.

Chattanooga's Best of Preps tournament starts this coming week on the 18th. What are everyone's thoughts and predictions about the tournament?

Who knows anything about Van Buren? They're new to the region next year. what do they have to offer?

i pick manassas by 5. i think reginald buckner is gonna have a big game and take the state championship and the state tournament MVP. great ball player.

elliot williams. gotta be the best. he's signed with duke. sexton is great, and i think he will be D1 major, but idk about duke.

man, it seems like in these posts people are talkin about each other more than the actual ball teams. c'mon lets talk some basketball. Congratulations to the kids from JC on such a big accomplishment for their school. I give them a chance at winning if they can shoot like they did against CSAS in their substate game. good luck to everyone in the tournament. it'll be interesting. i wish temple could win to represent chattanooga but i just dont think they can get it done. sexton is a great ball player but i dont think he has what i takes to beat UC. I expect about 32 from sexton but i think they will lose.

im done making any "excuses". just sayin. i love how all these JC fans are finally speaking out after they finally accomplished something.... congrats to them, but i havent heard anything out of them the rest of the season.

how can you say that jackson co. is the better team!? they got lucky! You cant say that the better team is a team with an 18-16 record (may i say that their record wasnt even above .500 before the season started) is better than a team with a 27-7 record who played a much tougher schedule! There isnt a college team, NBA team, or high school team that shoots 80%+ consistently every night, well thats what JC did. you cant put those kind of numbers up every night. not to mention the difference in coaching. all JC did was pass the ball around and jack up threes and they made them. I would place money on a rematch between CSAS and JC and i would bet that CSAS would win.
