I havent had many chances to see the young Mr Robinson wrestle but from what I hear he is a real stud. I would have to say I was a little suprised not to see Mr Watson ranked. Im sure they probably take free style into consideration when making this list which I dont think Watson does much if any. Robinsons results at Fargo are certainly impressive but we must rememeber this is age based. Mr watson is not a 15 year old. I agree with Bosken and think Watson wins this handily with his style and unique attributes. No knock on Robinson as I have only seen him wrestle twice but I dont see a sophmore from Tennessee beating Watson. My prediction, Watson by 5-6 pts and then Robinson goes to 120 or 132 for the state. Not sure who will be at 120 but 132 might be a tough road to a championship as well. I definitley want to see this match up.

Ok, I deleted my posts because you got me riled up and this topic should have had nothing to do with Trousdale or any other teams.I have always had great respect for South Pitt and what they have done so I should not have put down single A schools. My response was more to your general statements of you being superior and everyone else wrong because you are from Trousdale. I think if you will go back and re-read your posts to me and the other people you will see where you basically said nobody knew what they were talking about but you. When it was mentioned that other people agreed with who-ever posed in regard to the cut blocking first you started trying to put them down and basically said you were from Trousdale and your coaches knew correct terminology and they didnt. You started it with the youthcoach guy first I believe. Its ironic that the only people who have agreed with you are from Trousdale isnt it? You were the only one who had been taught correctly. Everyone had piss poor blocking technique, ect.. If you have never cut blocked anyone below the hip then you were either one bad dude or you havent played anybody very good is all I can say. Its hard to block someone with your helmet on their hip every time especially when they are firing off with low shoulder pad level. Sometimes its impossible to get into correct blocking position without getting your head down and over extended and you have no option but to cut block. Watch this saturday how many times the running backs cut block a blitzing linebacker. Watch how many times a guard comes off his double team to p/u a blitzing linebacker and he cut blocks him. It happens all game, every game at every level of football. If you dont you will get blown up because in a perfect world you cant always get into the picture perfect blocking position. I guess you can and always have because nobody else has been taught correctly except for players from Trousdale . Heck even Nick Saban is wrong, he is a liar and he doesnt even know what he is talking about. maybe you should put on a coaching clinic for him and teach him you know because its evidently more than anyone else.

Really? You guys thought gatewood was the best thing since sliced bread until he left. Did he not turn your program around? As far as playing subs are you sure? maybe he felt his starters needed more work since it was the second game of the season. Since they are all pretty young anyway he is giving his future starters playing time because they are the same ones playing now. That being said there are a lot of reasons coaches play and dont play starters and that doesnt make you any better or less of a coach.

No dog in this race but you made a great point. There are now 8 state champions as compared to three. I wouldnt be suprised if some of your old stand outs would absolutley run all over the watered down competetion now. It was much, much tougher to win prior to all the divisions. If you made the semifinals back then you were one of the best 12 teams in the state. If you make it now you are one of the 32 best. BIG BIG difffernce.

Well im not one to bash people usually so I will try an be delicate. I hope Central is improving, I dont know the particulars of Ooltewah having "your" players in the past. I do know that every year we hear the same thing, Central is so fast, Central is full of athletes, this new coach will get us going, ect.. Its great to continue to support your team and eventually you will get there. You have to keep on working hard and eventually things will click. It took Bradley a long time to get where we are and we still have a ways to go. Now as far as coaching, Im pretty sure you could ask any knowledgeable football fan who has the better staff and it wouldnt even be close. You would get laughed at arguing that one. You forget we had your coach for a short period of time so we know. A lady I work with has son there at Central and she told me you have several coaches who never even played high school football. I was looking at your schedule and do think you could win a lot of games this year. There are really only one or two games you cant win. I think all the stars may be lining up for you. New coach, good young players, favorable schedule against no powerhouses. East Hamilton is young and a new school and all but Im going on what I saw in the past and from the jamboree and picking EH in a close one. The Central kids have to learn to win and not lose the close ones or make mistakes that are costly. Maybe this is the year they do that. Time will tell.

Friday nightlights, did you just say Central has more speed than Ooltewah and Signal? Really? What makes you say that? Is that what you have heard or do you have some track stars we dont know about? Are ya'll running all over people with good speed to see where you stand? Im not saying you dont we always here about this speed you always have but yet it doesnt help. You usually win in high school football if you are faster, thats fact. My prediction Eh 17 Central 14 . Superior coaching wins this one.

I was very proud of how the boys fought and never gave up. That being said, I dont want us to look like whiners. We may have out gained them in yards but we had a lot of long busted plays we used our athleticism on. We didnt control the game like they did and the score shows.

Westmoreland was the best back I have ever personally seen in this area. He did it against the best competetion also. Its a silly argument and really no way of knowing but if I had to bet on it I would say it would depend on how many carries he got. If he ran the ball 20-25 times with the team he played on I would say yes he would score 5 tds. If he ran on the current Mc team maybe not but he would still be the man.

Im thining we can get the win in a close game. My sources tell me Baylor has been known to get burned on the pass the past two seasons and I believe we have a receiver and qb who can get it done. Granted we have to stop them so it should be a good one.

I think the AAU state officials ran most of the tournament. Not a knock on McCallie but their part was pretty easy. I think for the state , the Aau gets the refs, medals, runs weigh ins across the state, does the brackets, ect.. I think you have to provide hospitality and table workers is all if you are the host. Regardless, it was a great Tournament as was the big kids state a few weeks back. Now that we arent using that folder syatem anymore we are on pace with everyone else across the country. I personally like trackwrestling much better from a fans/parent perspective than the paperless. I think they do the same thing as far as runnig the tournament but its a little easier to navigate in my opionion when looking up information. It also keeps up with everyones stats and you can go back and look at past results from tournaments or even look up kids stats. You can filter it by team, wrestler, age group and so on. Im not sure from a tournament directors standpoint how they compare but from an outsiders view they appear to run the tournament the same way.

I hardly think that kids are chosing to wrestle in folkstyle tournaments now as opposed to freestyle that has any bearing on how our state does. Now I will concede that in the past if you wanted to wrestle year round you needed to wrestle freestlye and greco. I will concede that both styles offer some obvious benefits but the fact of the matter is that now there are tremendous opportunities in folksyle to wrestle beyond your high school season. It would make more sense that this would benefit our wrestlers in folkstyle since that is what we are wrestling at the high school level. Im not sure if anyone has paid attention but these pre-season and post season tournaments are gaining in popularity at an exceedingly rapid rate. The super 32 was as tough as any tournament in the country this year. Now before you freestylers go off about Fargo just look at the facts. In fact I have spoken to multiple college coaches who say they are now placing more recruiting emphasis on on the big time folkstyle tournaments since that is what they wrestle in college. Before you look it all up and say well this kid won super32 but didnt place at Fargo ectt realize that goes both ways. They were many. many winners and placers from Fargo who didnt fare as well at the super32. Some kids are better at one style than they may be at another is the reason. Also fargo is age group based which is much easier than a 4 year window for age in the super32. I think that due to the preposterous rules in freestyle now and the fact that there are now mo0re folkstyle opportunities this will be a growing pattern.

I think Hames makes the finals easily. Im pretty confident Oliver would be in contention as well. I dont think Hamilton will be at 119 either.

I think you are refering to Brandon Bruner from Tullahoma. He was 103 last year. He is at Baylor if reports are true and looking to wrestle 112 from early reports.

Ok, I know school just started but this board is getting boring. Its time to heat it up and get the discussions flowing.I know a lot of schools have started workouts. What are the projected line ups at some of the power houses. Bradley, Cleveland, Soddy, Baylor, Mccallie, father Ryan, C bros, Science Hill? Any off season moves, coachng changes?

This was based on returning placers and the known newcomers. Who below them has a realistic chance of having two finalists?

yes, Science Hill is one I wasnt sure about. I didnt see where they had many returning placers. Im not sure how many qualifiers they have returning and I know nothing about their feeder programs. Where do their kids come from? Do they have a lot of returning qualifiers?

I have to admit I dont know a whole lot about the current Clarksville teams returners other than Clarksville nw placed higher in the state and have more returning placers than Clarksville. (unlees my hurried glance through the results are wrong). As far as Rossview goes I dont know a whole lot about them either. I think they placed 28th last year and dont have many returning placers. It will be a tall order to jump into the top 10 from there but maybe they have the horsepower to do so.

I would consider Pigeon Forge, Blackman , and Red Bank dark horses as the finished 16th, 19th and 23rd last season. I think they will suprise some people. I think the race between 1st and second will only be about a 30 point difference and Third place will only be about 30 pts behind 2nd. Then 4th-8th will be very, very tight.
